It appears that the groundhog and Mother Nature have had a direct disagreement in how the end of winter will play out. Seeing that we have had a return to old fashion Wisconsin winters, let s not forget that trapshooting has no season. A special thanks to all those teams who have signed up to enjoy the Wisconsin environment. Also, a big thank you to our ground crews and cleaning crews along with the contractors that keep our facility open and ready for business. What s big for this year? We have plenty and we will need your help. As of this publication the 2019 banquet will have been completed. Hopefully, you attended the event as this is one of our main fund raisers to keep your club as one of the top clubs in the state. While summer is not fully on our mind yet, we need to get volunteers for the ATA Northeast Zone Shoot which will start on May 31 and go through June 2 nd. We will need scorers, trap tenders, clerical, bartenders, etc. Please contact me to sign up for this event. We will have a lot of people from outside the area at this event and we want to give them a great impression of our club. This will not be the clubs only need for help as Joe Gozinski will need people to assist with the sporting clays program which starts in May as well. Joe has done a great job in running this program as we start to push towards the 100 plus shooter involvement. Although we have not hit summer, keep in mind our second largest fund raiser, the Iron Man, needs at least 65 volunteers to operate smoothly. Please plan on dedicating some time to your club this year. Remember, you can fill out a work card for either pheasants in the fall or shooting cards the equivalent value of the birds. This year has been a year of change at the club with a face lift. A big thanks goes out to Jerry Reetz, Dave Polzin, Steve Beres, Don Konen, and Gene Thom for all the extra hours put in to complete putting the club back in functional order before the Winter Trap Season. Also, if you have noticed

Pres. Page Cont. Jerry and Dave stayed in the renovation mood and have cleaned up the back-banquet hall with fresh paint for now and hopefully more changes down the road. Once the snow has gone, we will need help in getting the grounds back in shape as well. As this publication comes out in March the membership meeting will be right around the corner with the second Monday in March. We have three of our board members that are up for re-election and all feel that some fresh blood would be good for the club. If you would like to be involved in the decision making of your club contact either Amy Thoma or Gene Thom. Also, please as a member try to attend this meeting as this is your club and your voice is needed. Remember, the only issues that are not solved are ones that are not communicated. In closing, I want to thank the board for all their hard work and dedication this past year. We have made great strides in giving our members a club they can be proud of. My goal was to make BCC a trend setter that all other clubs measure by. We are well on our way thanks to all of you and your support. Let s keep the ball rolling to keep this club a gem for generations to come- Thank You and see you on the line. Respectfully Submitted, Gary Witzke President 920-204-1329 Bi-Annual Membership Meeting The Bi-Annual Membership Meeting for both the Berlin Conservation Club and the Foundation will be held on Monday, March 11 th. We will be electing board members for both. It is time to think about running for the board for the BBC and/or the BCCF to help out your club. Contact any current board member to express your interest. There will also be a vote on Bi-Law changes at this meeting. To view the proposed changes, visit this link: http://www.berlincc.org/by-laws.html PHEASANT FARM The new chicks will be arriving in spring. Watch for dates for future work days that will be coming up to get the farm ready for the new chicks. FRIDAY CLEANING CREW We are very sorry to say that we have lost a few members of our cleaning crew. They will be sadly missed. We are looking for new people to join us on Friday mornings to help keep our club looking great. Either call Ken Keenlance at 920-361-0330 or Bob Pribnow at 920-290-5035 for more information or just show up by 7:00 AM on a Friday morning. POLISH SHOOT The Spring Polish Shoot is fast approaching as the Winter Trap League is over half way complete. The Polish Shoot will be held on Thursday, April 11 th. In case you do not know what a Polish Shoot is, come down and watch. Every shooter, shoots at 70 targets. You are then assigned a blind partner and after that pair up, prizes are awarded. 100 BIRD SHOOT The Spring 100 Bird Shoot will be held on Sunday, April 28 th from 8:00AM to 3:00PM. Please come down and sign up to shoot and also feel free to pitch in and help out with scoring, bar tending, clean-up, or anything else that needs to be done, like relieving someone who has been working all day.

Wood Duck Houses Wood Duck Houses have been completed. Thank You to the crew that assembled them. There are still houses available to purchase at a cost of $10.00. We will also take orders for more houses. Contact Ken Keenlance with questions at 920-361-0300. Now is the time to buy them and get them up. Winter Trap & Winter Archery Winter Trap and Winter Archery are going well. We have 5 teams for winter archery and 59 teams for winter trap. Even though we have had a winter that hasn t cooperated very well for shooting trap, we have been open every week and have had some hearty shooters. 28 th Annual BCC Banquet We want to thank everyone who attended the 28 th annual banquet on February 23 rd. We hope everyone had a good time and won some prizes. We will be having a wrap-up meeting in the near future. Watch for date and time to be posted on the website. We would like more of our members to join with us on the banquet committee and help with the planning of next year s banquet. Thank You To Our Banquet Donors We hope we did not miss anyone. If we did we apologize, and want to thank you, also.
