Orchestra Congratulations! For the second year in a row, Helena All, Free State High senior violist, was nominated and performed with the National Association for Music Education All-National Symphony Orchestra. This is the highest of honors that a high school orchestra student can receive for performance on their instrument. For her to receive this honor not once, but twice, makes it even more exceptional! The audition process is quite rigorous and required Helena to audition and perform with the Northeast Kansas District Honor Orchestra, and then the Kansas All-State Orchestra, before she could qualify to audition for the All-National Orchestra. The entire process takes more than a year. Helena spent these last few days rehearsing, and then performing with our nation's best high school symphony orchestra students at Disney World in Florida.

Orchestra Congratulations! Helena All, Free State High senior violist, nominated and performed with the National Association for Music Education All-National Symphony Orchestra!

Orchestra Congratulations! 17 Free State students were selected to perform in the Northeast Kansas District High School Orchestra, and 7 Freshman Free State students were nominated to perform in the NEKMEA District Middle Level Orchestra! Students who were in the high school level orchestra competed and auditioned against other students in the Northeast Kansas Region to perform in this ensemble. We had a record number of students selected, and an even bigger honor was to have the section leader from Free State in the 1st Violin, 2nd Violin, Viola, and Cello section. Lawrence Free State had more students in this ensemble than any other school in our district!

Orchestra Congratulations! Here is a link to our facebook page with photos of these kids in action from the event: https://www.facebook.com/freestatehighschoolorchestra/?jazoest=265100119908711112052786852115 10211311810256117105908777481179785101114561177450531196911410466578957759587114815 86510012251859090109701206654121571111196598801171128245106111110119511021055212111 111786117489088979085110116105103
