March 2016 Inside this issue: Reminders Membership Adult Tennis News Welcome New Members 3 Swim Team News 4 Spring Swim Clinic 5 Board of Directors 6 2 Message from the President I hope everyone is getting excited for another great summer at Bear Creek Swim and Tennis Club to make family memories that will last forever! The board has been working all winter to ensure a fun and safe facility. Budgets are in place and plans for various projects are in the works. Some of the projects we are working on are the pruning of the crabapple trees around the club parking lot, painting the concession stand and exterior of the building, repairing some fencing, sealing the pergola and trim, and replacing the doors to the restrooms and pump room. We are working hard to make sure the facility runs smoothly. Employees are being hired. If you have a teen that is interested in being a lifeguard, please have them fill out an application which is located on our website; www.bcstc.org on the Job Application page. Guards need to be at least 15 years old, and current on their certifications. Please make sure your dues are paid in full by April 1, 2016 to avoid the spring late fee. Members who do not have their dues and fees paid by May 1, 2016 (please note this earlier date), may result in membership termination. We have a waiting list with over 180 families and empty nesters waiting to get in to our great club! Thank You, Paul Daghlian President

BEAR CREEK SWIM & TENNIS CLUB PAGE 2 BALANCES DUE Remember that April 1, 2016 is the deadline for membership dues to be paid in full. As per the club bylaws, a delinquency fee of $25 will be assessed on payments that are postmarked after April 1, 2016. The day the payment is postmarked will be the date used to determine the date of payment. You should have received your statement in the mail the beginning of March. BCSTC NEWSLETTER The Bear Creek Swim & Tennis Club Newsletter is published five times a year in March, April, May, June and September. The deadline for articles is the last day of the month preceding if you have an article to submit. All newsletters are sent to members via the club s email (unless you requested a paper copy) and are also posted on our website (www.bcstc.org). Newsletter Editor is Michelle Hannigan, email info for the newsletter to mahannigan@netzero.net. CLUB COMMUNICATION As many of you know, we are relying heavily on e-mail to communicate with our members. If we don t have an e-mail address on file for you, that means that you are missing out on important announcements and opportunities about the club. Please send an e-mail message to info@bcstc.org to inform us of your e-mail address, and if you change your e-mail address at any time, please alert us ASAP. Also, it is equally important to add the e-mail address info@bcstc.org to your address book so the messages don t end up in your SPAM folder. Membership Thank you to all our members who have paid their dues in full for 2016 or have paid a deposit. To date, we have 336 families who have paid towards their 2016 season dues. This leaves approximately 64 families with monies yet to pay. Payments can be made by Mastercard and VISA via PayPal. Just go to the website (www.bcstc.org), click on the Pay Online page on the left hand navigation, and then select the payment option from the drop -down menu on the PayPal button. There is a 3% processing fee included. You still have the option of paying by check to avoid that fee. Make sure to send checks to the post office box (mail will not be delivered to the club during the off-season) at P.O. Box 27412, Lakewood, CO 80227. Over the years, our best source of new members is referrals from current members. You all have done such a good job that we now have a waiting list of almost 125 for family memberships and 58 members and others on the list for empty nesters! When you refer family and friends to the club and if your name appears on a new member s application as a referral, you will receive $25 worth of guest passes! If you know someone who would like more information about membership, or a tour of our facility, please have them contact Michelle Hannigan. I d be glad to show them our great club! Call the club at 303-988-9808 and leave a message. It s not too early to start day-dreaming about the warm days and nights-because that means you can play tennis outside at BCSTC! This past February, an e-mail message was sent to all members (for whom we have an e-mail address) with information for playing on BCSTC tennis leagues in 2016. If you were not contacted, please send an e-mail to jbarben@claritytel.com and indicate your interest. Bear Creek s tennis coordinator for Men s, Women s, Mixed and Junior Team Tennis this year is has not yet been hired. You may contact Jac Barben at jbarben@claritytel.com for team numbers, etc. until we hire a new coordinator for the club. The following leagues are all about to start! Don t miss your opportunity to get registered for a league/team! 2016 League Registration Deadlines Trio League: March 4 - Season starts March 26 USTA Mixed 18 & over: March 4 - Season starts April 10 USTA Adult 18 & over: March 18 - Season starts April 25 USTA Mixed 40 & over: April 8 - Season starts May 7 USTA Mixed 55 & over: April 8 - Season starts May 4 CTA Women s Daytime Doubles: April 8-Season starts 5/17 (stay tuned for more dates) Rules: League teams must be comprised of 75% of players at level.
