Dear Green Valley Swim & Tennis Member: We would like to welcome you to the Coppermine family! As you may have heard, Coppermine has purchased the Green Valley Swim & Tennis Club and we are extremely excited about this new property and the opportunities for our members. For those of you who do not know what Coppermine is, we are a sports and fitness company with 7 locations providing sport and social activities for the entire family. Customer service is paramount at Coppermine and our coaches are mentors to many children each week in various programs from soccer to gymnastics as well as summer and school s out camps. Our entire roster of programs that we offer can be found at www.copperminefieldhouse.com and www.copperminefitness.com. Many of you might be wondering, how will this affect Green Valley and my membership? I am hoping this letter will answer some questions and give you a good idea of the plans we have for the club. Some will be implemented quickly, while other projects may take more time. First and foremost, Green Valley will remain as a swim and tennis club and we hope that you will continue your membership through us. From a programming standpoint, we would like to start a Green Valley Swim Team for boys and girls and have them participate in non-competitive meets throughout the summer. In addition to this, Coppermine will also be putting together instructional swim programs that will focus on beginner and first-time swimmers. Secondly, because Coppermine has an indoor squash and tennis facility, www.copperminefitness.com, we will be putting together a junior tennis program and adult tennis leagues on the 6 outdoor courts that are already onsite. Our plan is to make a $50,000 capital improvement on the current tennis courts to resurface and paint them. Our goal is to have a thriving youth development tennis program where our players can compete at other clubs. We will also be providing tennis clinics and tennis camps at the Green Valley location as well. Green Valley will also become as USTA destination for match play for adults. Currently, the membership is approximately 125 total members. We are not looking to make this a giant club but would like to double this membership to around 250 members over the next 3 years. This will allow us to run and manage a full-time snack bar and will also allow us to plan fun events that are typically more successful when there is a good turnout and families are able to interact with new people. Lastly, we will be running 2 summer camps at this location, CopperKids at Green Valley http://www.copperminefieldhouse.com/copperkids-summer-camp-at-green-valley/ and Tennis Club at Green Valley http://www.copperminefieldhouse.com/tennis-club-summer-camp-at-coppermine-green-valley/. These camps will be running Monday Friday from 9AM 4PM. Our target number of kids will be around 60 campers per day and these camps would not be run on Saturday and Sunday. I know some of you are worried that this club will be overrun with campers, but I promise you that we respect the membership and are interested in growing but not to the point where customer service is affected. We look forward to the upcoming pool season and getting to know the current members and their families. Sincerely, Alex Jacobs President, Coppermine Fieldhouse
