Chapter Directors Words of Wisdom Hi All- Summer is here! We finally turned off the furnace for good, so it s official. And our Six 100 Mile Rides have started, so it s extra official. The first ride started off great, with two new riders, some friends from Iowa, and a total of 11 bikes and 13 riders. Let s keep things going on the ride this Saturday, June 4 th, right after our June business meeting. I still have some flyers if you need more, or just give one to friends or neighbors who ride and you think might want to join us. A huge shout out to Julie Sullivan for keeping us informed about the rides and weather changes. We ll talk about rescheduling our Thursday night rain out at the meeting. The season is getting super busy right now, graduation parties, weddings, vacations and of course, riding. Whatever you do and wherever you are headed, be safe. We just got back from a huge trip to retrieve Katie and her stuff from New York, and caravanned back to Nebraska with three vehicles. Only a few people actively tried to run us off the road, and for the most part, we arrived in good spirits. I noticed a bumper sticker on one car that said Look out for Cars, kind of a snarky take on the Look out for Motorcycles sticker. I started thinking about why someone would put that on their car. Do they hate motorcyclists? Did they have a bad experience with a motorcyclist? Or do we, as motorcyclists, assume we are always in the right and automobilists are always in the wrong. Not sure where they are coming from, but I know we all have to share the road, so in addition to being safe, let s share the road and let everyone enjoy their ride. Region C Rally is coming up (next weekend)! And more 100 mile rides. And Gold Rush in July. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something (fun!), so find something fun and go do it! Happy Summer! Ride Safe! Jim and Karen Durand 2

GWTA News GWTA 2016 Recruiting Program For every new recruit you bring into GWTA, you get: FREE registration to Goldrush in 2016* $10.00 off your regional rally registration ** $10.00 off your state/provincial rally registration ** * If the recruiting of the new member(s) occurs after June 1, 2016 and the recruiting member cannot attend in 2016, a $10.00 coupon for a future Goldrush will be issued. ** These credits have no cash value. There is no cash back option. For example, if you have recruited four new members (a credit of $40.00), and your state/provincial rally registration fee is $35.00, the remaining $5.00 is not returned in cash Rally credits you hold are to be applied at the time of registration. If you acquire additional rally credits after you have registered for the current year rally, you will need to hold them to apply toward the following year s rally. In other words, you will not get cash back on rally registration monies you have already expended There is a two year expiration period from the time of issue of the credit Credits are non-transferable BONUS: If you recruit five new members, you will also get a one year credit of your membership dues (non-transferable). Program begins April 1, 2016, and will be managed by Mike and Carol Brush. They will be responsible for issuing the appropriate credits to members who have recruited other members. Coupons will be issued as soon as they receive the recruiting information, including the new member s name and membership number, from the national office. Contact: Mike and Carol Brush brush123@cox.net (402) 800-8016 3

Rides Do these pictures look familiar? They should, they are from the Dunlap Ride. I didn t get any pictures at the first 100 mile ride that left from Dillon Bros. That s what should be here. Will someone please send me some pictures when we go on rides? I will try to get some, but I always forget until we are on the bike and then I can t get at my phone/camera. Otherwise, this page will always be the same. 12
