MISSION STATEMENT Building positive values and life skills with quality leadership, by providing opportunities to develop, promote, and improve hockey in a positive environment for the children, volunteers and parents in the community of Leduc.

ROUGHNECKS LOGO/TEAM WEAR Logo to be used on all Team Wear CAN NOT be altered Team wear can also have logo/name of sponsor that supplies the team wear Please do not contact team sponsor for further funding It is recommended that division is not used on team wear. If using level category, use Tiering level Teams may be subject to disciplinary action for non-compliance of logo and team wear rules
TEAM SPONSORS ALL TEAMS: Have been assigned a team sponsor. Managers are responsible for ensuring name bars are attached. Teams will be contacted by Alice Embroidery when name bars are ready to be put on. MUST use their sponsorship name on all tournaments, articles, etc. Example, Leduc Quality Flooring Atom 2 Roughnecks. Will receive a Sponsorship Banner which should be displayed at every Game and Tournament they attend (where possible). Banners can be placed on the glass or in the Player Box.
LMHA EQUIPMENT All teams are given Home, Away and Practice Jerseys (except initiation, one set) ***AT NO TIME ARE THESE ITEMS TO GO HOME WITH PLAYERS*** All teams are expected to have assigned Jersey Parents Electrolyte fluids are not permitted around these jerseys. We have had too many brand new jerseys ruined due to staining. Cleaning of jerseys will be at the expense of the team Any player equipment borrowed from LMHA needs to be cleaned prior to return at the end of season and receipt presented at time of return. Any items that are not cleaned will be charged to the team Team Captain crests are to be put on and removed by Alice Embroidery ONLY!!! no cost to the teams.
RAFFLE FUNDRAISING A fundraising meeting will be held for all Managers when raffle tickets are available. Raffle Tickets will be distributed at this time. All Managers will be responsible for distribution and collection of tickets All remaining tickets must be into Erron Steele by : March 8, 2013 TEAM FUNDRAISING All team fundraisers require a AGLC permit. team 50/50 s are not permitted Contact Erron Steele, Fundraising Coordinator to obtain permit Funds will not be released until permit is closed
TEAM PICTURES Pictures will be held November 7 th, 12 th and 14 th Times are on your picture package Photography will be done by Photography By Tara Managers will be responsible for distribution, collection and compilation of picture orders Packages must be assembled and handed in on picture day prior to team picture. Please follow directions on package! Pictures will once again be off ice at the Leduc Civic Center. Skate Guards are recommended. Picture times will be posted on the website
WWW.LMHA.AB.CA It is MANDATORY that all teams input player and staff information into their team websites, including email addresses ASAP as well as league websites Website schedules across all RAMP sites are able to be linked and is recommended Any questions or issues pertaining to the website can be directed to Ebony Bayrack, If during the year you have any pictures of your team or stories of tournaments attended send them to Ebony to go on the website The more we put on the website the better
HEAD COACH QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
TEAM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS SAFETY 1person required to have. Does not have to be a Coach. Person must be present at all games and carded with the team. The certification for this program is valid for a period of three (3) hockey seasons from the date of the clinic attended to August 1 of the third hockey season. Course is now all online RESPECT IN SPORT/ACTIVITY LEADER PROGRAM COACH LEVEL All carded team staff must have by November 16 th CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK/INTERVENTION RECORD CHECKS All Coaches, Managers, Trainers and Safety volunteers must have Criminal Record Checks and Intervention Record Checks completed All must be turned into Sharon Losing, Risk Management by November 16 th COST FOR ALL QUALIFICATION COURSES IS REIMBURSED BY L.M.H.A. (receipts and certificates must be handed in or emailed to Treasurer together within one month of course or will not be paid)
TEAM CARDING Completed Rosters must be turned into Brenda prior to any league scheduled games being played Information must include player name, jersey number, birthdate as well as Volunteer names, volunteer positions, birthdate, phone number and email address (Five on bench volunteers per team are permitted) Brenda will then redistribute Hockey Alberta Carded team lists. Where affiliates are concerned, they can be added after the affiliation meeting LMHA will pay for carding of 5 team officials. More team officials can be carded at the teams cost Unless a Manager will be on the ice or on the bench, Manager s will not be carded.
AFFILIATION Affiliation meeting will be October 24th at the LRC for teams Novice level and up Teams will be notified via email of their selection times Affiliates can play 10 games TOTAL all year (excluding tournaments and exhibition) Any player that Is affiliated can play with his affiliated team once his team is done playoffs for the year. Teams must contact affiliates head coach before using the player
RISK MANAGEMENT EXHIBITION GAMES - HOME Must have a Game permit, contact Sharon Losing, Risk Management (initiation and tom thumb games are all considered exhibition) All game sheets must be faxed to Sherry Harstaad at 403-748-4461 or emailed to shaarstad@wolfcreek.ab.ca INJURY REPORT FORMS Located on the LMHA website under Coach/Manager information Managers/Coaches must carry in triplicate to all events. If a player is injured, one form must go with the player for the Doctor to fill out. Completed forms must be returned to Sharon Losing, Risk Management CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK/INTERVENTION RECORD CHECK Must be completed by November 15, 2013. All incomplete will not be permitted on the bench/ice SPECIAL EVENT/TRAVEL PERMITS Must notify Sharon Losing well in advance Details of date, time, location, tier, sanction permit (if available), number of games, team, eg. Atom 3 description of event and zone are required Remember, Dry land training is a special event!
TOURNAMENTS ADAM MYERS MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT Will be held November 15-17, and will host the Atom and Pee Wee level tier 1 and 3 s FAMILY DAY WEEKEND Tom Thumb / Initiation tournament OTHER TOURNAMENT DATES: Nov 29-Dec 1 Dec 13-Dec 15 Dec 27-29 Jan 17-19 Late March TOURNAMENT APPLICATIONS: Teams interested in hosting a tournament at one of the above dates can put in an application form with Cindy Beck
GENERAL INFORMATION VOIDING OF TEAM INSURANCE: Playing of ineligible players Volunteer who is not carded being on the bench or ice OVERAGE /AFFILIATED / SUSPENDED PLAYERS Must be listed on the game sheet and have OA, AF, or Susp and gm 1/2 etc listed by their name respectively DRESSING ROOM CONDUCT ICE Absolutely no Cell Phones, ipods, ipads, or anything with camera capabilities Supervision requires minimum Two Adults at any one time at ALL LEVELS Atom and below PW and above someone needs to be around room and checking in on kids. Make sure to cover room rules at beginning of the year All Teams able to pick up extra ice from the website. In addition, any teams that will not be using their ice need to notify Brenda Immediately. If a team Is found to not use their ice and it sits empty without notice they will be charged for the ice. Two power skating sessions will be available for each team. these can be booked through Kendra Dyck
DISCIPLINE PROCESS The LMHA expects the Coaching Staff of a hockey team to exhibit qualities of leadership which promotes in players, sportsmanship and decorum, considered with acceptable levels of propriety towards opponents, game officials and spectators. As such, standards of behavior should be clearly defined and maintained by the Coaching Staff throughout the season, within a climate of mutual respect. It is recognized that from time to time, sanctions may be necessary for behavior that transgresses acceptable standards. Such sanctions may be Leduc Minor Hockey Association 10.01(d) Bylaws applied to any Player, member of a Coaching Staff, team follower, parent, or member, and may take the form of: A verbal reprimand A written reprimand A suspension An expulsion and/or A combination of the above
DISCIPLINE PROCESS The LMHA through its Board Members, has the authority to discipline any Board Member, Team Player, Coach, Assistant Coach, Trainer, Manager, Bench Staff, Parent or Spectator The President shall ensure that written policy or regulations exist with respect to the application of discipline that ensures that each disciplinary incident is dealt with consistently with the process provided for below: Use of profanity by a Player, a member of the Coaching Staff, parent, team follower, On-ice Official, Off-ice Official, or Member while representing LMHA during the normal duration of a hockey LMHA activity including the time before or after the actual hockey game while in the hockey arena in the general vicinity of the hockey area. Receipt of a player of a game misconduct, gross or match penalty Assessment to a Hockey Team of two or more bench minors in one game Ejection from a game of a member of the Coaching Staff Assessment of a Hockey Team of an excessive number of penalties of a serious nature, in the opinion of the Level Director and Vice President of the Level
DISCIPLINE PROCESS Conduct of a Player, member of the Coaching Staff, Member or team follower in repeatedly brings discredit to the team and LMHA, through violent, abusive, or gross behavior whether on or off the ice. Conduct of a Player, member of the Coaching Staff, Member or team follower that repeatedly brings discredit to the team and LMHA, through violent, abusive, or gross behavior whether on or off the ice. Use by a Player, member of the Coaching Staff, or team follower of alcohol or other illegal substances while representing LMHA during the normal duration of a hockey game including the time before or after the actual hockey event while in the hockey arena in the general vicinity of the hockey area Conduct by a parent or Legal Guardian who exhibits conduct unbecoming to integrity of the LMHA Hockey program. Failure of a Hockey Team to utilize ice time without sufficient prior notification to the Ice Coordinator
DISCIPLINE PROCESS Failure to pay all outstanding fees for the Current Season as required or failure to follow through on any commitment made with respect to a waiver of fees for the Current Season. Three different stages of Discipline Procedure and Dispute Resolution include: Stage 1: The Information Process as described in Bylaw 10.02 Stage 2: The Formal Process as described in Bylaw 10.03 Stage 3: The Appeal Process as described in Bylaw 10.04
REF INFORMATION EXHIBITION GAMES / GAME CANCELLATIONS Paul Elun, Ref-In-Chief, must be informed of all Exhibition games and game cancellations that are in a restricted time frame. If you aren t sure if they need to be informed, inform him Zero tolerance for abuse of officials COACH MENTORSHIP Marc Gagnon will be having regularly scheduled Coach meetings, where Coaches will be able to get together and compare notes, share drills, experiences and ask questions Emails will be sent to all Coaches for the first meeting, to be facilitated by Marc Gagnon, Coach Mentor Power Skating Instructors for all levels are available contact Kendra To set one up for one of your practices. TEAM ACCOUNTS TEAM ACCOUNTS Manager and one non carded team parent MUST be dual signors on account All funds go through this team account and all records are kept as they have been in the past Spreadsheet sent to all parents and director monthly Team accounts MUST be closed out by APR 15 th of the current hockey season with all paper work submitted to the Treasurer.
1660 League 22 teams of our 37 in 1660 this year with 3 being in the female divisions with a cross over into north central. We will keep an eye on all our teams tiering games to see if they need to go up/down or stay where they are. Any concerns email Gary Tremblay as he is the only person that can get 1660 to change one of our teams.
