Schedule Canada Games Fight-Offs: 8:00am 10:00am LTAD: 10:00am 11:00am Regular Competition: 10:00am 5:00pm (A comprehensive schedule detailing specific competition times for each age group will be released after all registrations have been received) Canada Games Fight offs The Canada Games fight offs are an excellent opportunity to see Judo Nova Scotia s top young talent in action. While the fight offs are open to spectators, we ask that all attendees respect the fact that this is an extremely important and demanding event for the athletes involved. As such, all spectators will be asked to remain quiet, seated, and courteous throughout the process. These rules will be strictly enforced. Registration This is a preregistration tournament only. All competitors must be registered no later than November 28, 2014 YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF JUDO CANADA TO PARTICIPATE. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR JNS MEMBERSHIP HAS BEEN SUBMITTED ASAP TO ENSURE PARTICIPATION IN THIS TOURNAMENT. To register, please complete spreadsheet form at the bottom of this document. (Preferably each Club Sensei will fill out one spreadsheet that includes all members attending from their club). All participants must then complete the attached waiver and bring it with them to the athlete check in on December 6 th. Tournament Rules IJF rules will be in effect as well as those according to Judo Canada's Tournament Sanctions Policy: - Kansetsu waza and shime waza for U18 and above - Shime waza for U16 - No kansetsu or shime waza for novice divisions (orange belt and below) - Blue judogis are recommended, but not mandatory. *It is the responsibility of individual coaches to familiarize themselves with the Judo Canada Sanctions Policy. Eligibility Open to all members in good standing with a recognized provincial judo association. Minimum yellow belt for age groups U10 and above. All registrations will be crosschecked by Judo Canada. Divisions and Categories Senior: Born 1999 and before U21: born 1995/96/97/98/99 U18: born 1998 & 1999 U16: born 2000 & 2001 U14: born 2002 & 2003 U12: born 2004 & 2005 U10: born 2006 & 2007 LTAD: born 2008 and after Format & Awards Tournament Format: Athletes will be grouped into pools based on a 15% weight variance between the lightest and heaviest participant. Time of contest: U10 2 minutes continuous time U12/U14 2 minutes standard U16/U18/U21/Senior 3 minutes standard Awards will be presented at designated times throughout the day
