CAPTAIN CHIPS UP What a year our 2018 season is shaping up to be! Record numbers, great scores and a really good feeling around the club. As you know our year started on 1st December, and already (as at 16th December) we've had 32 birdies, a great effort in such a short time. Five of those were scored by the in-form man of the moment, Lennie. And he also had an even par round, a great achievement. Other multiple birdie scorers were John Francis, Brian Gobbi, Roger Henderson, Denis O'Callaghan, Ian Spencer and Bob Taylor. And I didn't think I'd see an 84 year old do cartwheels, but recently Alby almost did that when he sank a long putt on the 7th for a birdie. With the holidays just around the corner, course attendances are likely to be up, so with our numbers being so good, we'll be looking to get a few more groups away on the back 9. So if you are capable of playing this hillier 9, don't be afraid to put up your hand. And don't forget the handicap adjustment for playing the back 9.
