THE MUD DAY: A MUDDY TALE! The Mud Day is coming to Israel in March 2017! The famous international obstacle race The Mud Day will be held in Israel for the first time on the 24th of March 2017. The Mud Day is an extreme sport event created in 2013. It is now organized in 4 countries and has gathered more than 200,000 participants (the Mud Guys ) since its creation. This event will be organized by B.S.O., the new joint venture company created by Amaury Sport Organisation (organizer of more than 70 sport events worldwide, among which the Tour de France, Paris Marathon and the Dakar Rally) and the well-known French-Israeli businessman Dominique Romano. "B.S.O. objective is to bring new innovative international sport events to Israel THE MUD DAY: THE CONCEPT The format of The Mud Day is simple: complete a 13km run, either alone or in a team, overcoming 22 obstacles, all in the mud! The activity emerged at the end of the 1980s in the UK, combining mental and physical strength. Untimed and unranked, The Mud Day is an extreme event where mutual assistance features strongly. Anyone can take part: from runners looking for a new challenge, to marathon experts who are tired of the tarmac and groups of friends who will do anything for a laugh! SO WHAT IS THE MUD DAY? # An extreme event combining physical and mental skills, pushing participants to their limits... and beyond. # A 13km challenge with 22 obstacles inspired by the best obstacle courses in the world. What should you expect? Water, electricity, ice and, above all, mud! A challenge which you can do alone or in a team of four: sharing and solidarity are the core values of The Mud Day. 1
THE MUD DAY COURSE at Hayarkon Park Hayarkon Park, located in Tel Aviv area, is common for bike riding, jogging, walking pets and nice sunny picnics alongside the Yarkon River. Imagine this pastoral green area in the middle of the Tel-Avivian urban life turning to a mega-muddy obstacles run course on a Friday morning. The course consists of 22 obstacles staggered over 13 km. It has been designed specifically so that Mud Guys have to use a variety of skills and can experience new sensations. All the Mud Guys abilities will be put to the test. As well as stamina, the obstacles are designed to test: #PHYSICAL STRENGTH # # SPIRIT # SENSE OF At all editions of The Mud Day, the Mud Guys will rediscover some of the characteristic obstacles of the event, such as #CrawlingTime, #MudPool, #TarzanStyle and the notorious #IceCrime. But every event also incorporates some surprises and unique obstacles which reflect the identity of the venue. Half Race If 13km and 22 obstacles sounds like mission impossible to some people, registration to a 'half race'- running a 6.5km and overcoming 11 obstacles, is also available. The Mud Kids Children can join this unique experience too. Kids also have their own obstacle race in the heart of The Mud Day Village between 10am to 2pm. On a 500 meters loop the Mud Kids legion will have to face 7 obstacles directly inspired from the adult course. There are no winner and no looser, all participating kids need is bravery and solidarity to overcome all obstacles. The Mud Kids must be 7-12 to participate. THE MUD DAY VILLAGE Open from 8am to 7pm, The Mud Day Village is a lively and fun place to be. A great place to get together with others, the Mud Guy community gathers there before and after the event. The fun, friendly atmosphere means that everyone feels welcome and there is a wide range share a Mud Beer or warm up under the expert guidance of our professional coaches. This is also where the Mud Guys start their race... and cross the finish line again several hours later, exhausted but proud to have completed the challenge.
