IV. Committee Report a. Financial Paul Bailey (see attached) V. New Business a. Shorty s Caboy Hattery Jay Winborn The association will issue an official response from Todd Bergen reconfirming our commitment to JW Brooks as our exclusive sponsor through 2017. b. Fence Only Finals Todd Crawford I think we should rethink having a fence only finals on a Monday (at this show) and make a production out of it on a Sunday when there might be more of a crowd on a weekend. I don t want to eliminate it in the future, as I think there is a place for it, but I don t think it s a good fit here if it falls on a Monday. (for 2017) c. Rein & Cow works split at the horse show class level Todd Crawford see attached. Dan it doesn t say in the rulebook that you can t do it now. Jimmy so you could start the rein work and start the cow work pen 2 hours later? Todd Crawford or you could start the open rein work in one pen and the non pro cow work in the other pen. Have Brad bring it up in the next professionals meeting. d. Cowboy Class see attached. Todd Crawford. Keep the high school rodeo kids involved or get their parents involved. Dan when AQHA does the ranch versatility is judged, is the cow work and rope work separate scores? Jimmy I think it s a weighted percentage, percentage to the cow work, rest to the roping. Jake Do you think we should do it at the NRCHA PE level? TC yes, I think we should. I think we need to show the affiliates it s something you can offer. Jake you d need to figure out how to limit it to ranches and true ranch hands. Dan we should decide limits now. Limit of $500 in NRCHA earnings to enter suggested by Todd Crawford. Jake asked if

it s an all year long eligibility. Todd said yes. Jake, I think you could do $1500 or $2500 limit. Todd Crawford maybe we say we re thinking of capping it at $5000 in earnings. Dan now we re started the discussion and get talk to people about it. e. Jay do we ever want to think about offering a driving class? Sandy we tried it at Stock Horse. Didn t take off but it really should have. Maybe it was just the timing. TC I agree, I think it s just a timing issue. I think it could be huge. Jay I think the time is optimum to try it to encourage them to progress forward. Todd Crawford motions to add it as a provisional at the Stakes. We box, drive, box at the other end with a 2 minute limit. VI: Old Business a. Hall of Fame: MOTION PASSED, none opposed b. Pay all ten places at the World Show finalists Carrie McBride (see attached) Motion by Jimmy Stickler to pay all ten. Second by Jake. Amanda adds that we ask the foundation to cover the $500 to cover the youth. MOTION PASSED, none opposed. c. Todd Crawford just an update, Youth entries from 2013: 3000. 2014: 5000 2015:8000 d. National High School Rodeo change in off pattern scoring for 2016/2017 season plus new patterns added. e. Jake for the rulebook, can we remove the facing or away from judge? Dan as long as you tell them which wall to face. Or you could add 3 or 4 patterns changing existing patterns to change from facing to away? Jimmy or you add the wording of which wall to face and make the note that the judge will specify toward or away. Dan I almost think it would be less confusing to add patterns that are just changing existing patterns (like 11 and 12) VII. VIII. Executive Director Presentation (see attached) Adjourn at 1:58pm. Motion to adjourn by Jake second by Amanda. MOTION PASSED, none opposed

Change Request Name: Cowboy Class Submitted By: Todd Crawford Description/Scope: Add a Horse Show Class Cowboy Class. This class would have rein work as written in the rulebook. The fence work would be box, fence and then rope the cow (instead of circle). Purpose: This would add a class that is compatible to most Ranch Versatility and stock horse shows, allowing show management to cross approve a class and/or run concurrent. Benefits: By adding the class, show management could run this concurrent within a Ranch Versatility event, which would help in scheduling when time is a factor for adding NRCHA classes to shows. This would also allow traditional ranch versatility and Stock Horse (SHOT) competitors to compete in the NRCHA and get exposure to NRCHA classes and events. Risks: Judges would need additional training for judging the roping portion. Financial ramifications: None Implementation Issues: Communication to membership and to show management, both within NRCHA and out to Ranch Versatility, AQHA and SHOT management teams. Timeline: Implement in rulebook for 2017

Change Request Name: Split Rein and Cow Work at Horse Show Class Level Submitted By: Todd Crawford Description/Scope: Allow show management to hold Rein Work and Cow Work in separate arenas, under separate judges. (Horse show classes) Purpose: To open schedules up and allow affiliates to take advantage of cross approval of Ranch Versatility and SHOT shows. Splitting up the judges and arenas will help in scheduling and horse soundness (horse would not have to go back to back rein/cow). Benefits: Affiliates could co-approve a SHOT/stock horse show or ranch trail in separate pens to attract entries. It gives show management an opportunity to offer more. The Reining pen could get done, and then could convert over to ranch trail or ranch pleasure. Herd work and cow work could be in the other arena. This also gives the rider more times in the pen. By splitting it up, they will get 2 trips in the pen for one class. Risks: Potential scheduling conflicts for draw position. Difference of opinions in judging. Financial ramifications: For show management, cost of additional staff. Implementation Issues: Communication to membership and to show management. Timeline: Implement in rulebook for 2017
