Elm St. Denton, TX 76201, 940-390-5506 (c), 940-382-8710 (w) WEIGHT CLASSES: (* Five minute matches, ** Three minute matches) * Senior Men: 132, 145, 161, 178, 198, 220, 220+ * Senior Women: 114, 125, 139, 154, 172, 172+ ** Novice Men (Green Belts and Below): 132, 145, 161, 178, 198, 220, 220+ ** Novice Women (Green Belts and Below): Divisions to be determined after weigh-ins. ** Men and Women Masters: Divisions to be determined after weigh-ins ** Men and Women Youth: Divisions to be determined after weigh-ins ** Junior Players: will be grouped in two year age groups, starting with 5&6 year olds, up to 15&16. Age groups will divide by weight, as required for the safety of the competitors (As many groups as required). Competitors may be moved up to the next age, with permission from the parents, coaches and tournament director. ** Men and Women Novice Masters: divisions to be determined after weigh-in. This is a division for those beginning players whose age would allow them to play in the Masters division, but who rank might ordinarily deter them. To qualify the player must be above the age of 30, and be below Brown Belt in rank. Men and Women Brown Belt: Same as Senior Men & Senior Women. Youth division available to players who are under the age of 20 on the day of the competition. Players under the age of 17 will be allowed to enter, but only with permission of their coach and parents, and the tournament directors. Youth division players will be permitted to compete in any other division, in which they are eligible (i.e., junior or senior). All competitors in Youth and Senior divisions will compete using Senior rules (i.e., arm bars and chokes) regardless of their ages. Kata competition as required by TJI All Star Rules: Nage No and Katame No, for both Senior and Junior players. (Additional kata may be added.) AWARDS for Mose Woodson Classic: Trophy for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. All other junior players will receive a participation medal. Junior and Senior Team Trophies to be awarded to the clubs with the most points (First = 3 points, Second = 2 points, and Third = 1 point). ELIGIBILITY: All contestants must be active members in good standing of USJI, USJA, or USJF. Application for USJI membership may be made at the tournament. Only competitors with a rank of Sankyu and above will be permitted to compete in the Senior Divisions. Only competitors with ranks below Sankyu will be permitted to compete in the Novice Divisions. All novice competitors (those who do not hold the rank of Senior Sankyu, or above) are required to present a completed Black Belt Certification, signed by their Sensei, at the time of registration. (See Application form.) Junior competitors, who hold the rank of Blue Belt (or above) and who are at least 13 years old, may compete in the Senior Division. Junior competitors, who hold a rank below Blue Belt and who are at least 13 years old, may compete in the Senior Novice division. NOTE: ARM BARS ARE prohibited IN ALL NOVICE DIVISIONS!!!
