SUNFEST Sunfest lived up to its name this year with a hot and sun-filled day. It was fantastic to see so many kids and families come together to represent our school and show case what we can do. I am always super impressed with the confidence, talent, and positive attitude the students display when performing. Well done to everyone involved! SAKG Thank-you to all the parents and helpers that have volunteered to help run the SAKG this Friday. We have just had a heap of soil delivered from the Brawn family, so there will be lots of garden work to keep us busy. The p-2 class will be joining in on Friday so please remember that they will not need a lunch packed. EASTER RAFFLE Another thankyou to those families who have donated prizes for the Easter raffle. Tickets went out today, if you could please have them back by next Tuesday so we can draw the raffle on Friday. There is still time to donate eggs to put towards making the hampers. HOLIDAY ROSTER We still have a number of days to fill on our Chicken and Garden Roster for the school holidays. The jobs should take about half an hour and you are welcome to take any produce in appreciation of your time. The roster is on the window opposite Katie s office. SAFETY REMINDER The number one priority for staff is our student s safety, not only during school but before and after school as well. Could I please remind all parents that the speed limit at the front of the school is 40 during school pick up and drop off time. We have students crossing roads, moving in and out and sometimes behind cars. Please take your time and ensure you are checking blind spots and speed limits as you move through the parking areas. Thankyou. Thanks for a great week. Renee Tanaskovic Acting Principal
This week was full of discussions, modelling, practical activities and learning from each other. The students all produced a fantastic cold write about a talking toy or pet. We use the cold writes to moderate the students writing abilities throughout the year and to track their progress. It was apparent that the students have already made improvements in their writing ideas, spelling and punctuation use. Here are a couple of examples from this week s writing session. My cow was talking to me. He said do you want to play video games? After that we played video games. We were good friends. By Fynn C Once I had a talking teddy, it was amazing! We played together and we also slept together and we talked to each other. It was so so amazing! I loved it! By Wynter F Help! Help! My toys are alive and they have trapped me in my closet. But how? I was playing with them just then but why? I know. Just toy raptors, toy Spinos and toy T-Rex s can t come to life.or could they? 1 year later.they can talk!! The end. By Nathan S The pet can talk and it can dance. It is a cat and he says everything good people say. By Michael P.
Last day of school is going to be a dress up in Purple for an Epilepsy Fundraiser. Please wear a bit of purple and bring a gold coin donation! The kids in the 3-6 class have been busy this week finishing up the last of their testing. The kids have all been working hard and the results are reflecting this!! We have also been working really hard on our parachutes for Jack/Jackie in STEM. There have been lots of testing and retesting and fixing up their designs, we are going to be testing them next week, to see who has made the best parachute. Their Integrated Studies projects are also coming to a close, the kids have thoroughly enjoyed doing this project, and spending lots of money! The kids will be presenting their final pieces next week.
