EMBELLISHMENTS EMBELLISHMENTS Embellishment is to take a plain garment and add your own personal style or taste to it. Embroidery will wear well over time & will last as long as the garment is cared for garments. HEAT SEAL Heat Seal is the use of a vinyl with an adhesive backing, this is the most common form of embellishing. The technology of the vinyl has improved over the years & almost every jersey in most sports will have some form of heat seal vinyl. The most common use is for numbering jersey s & sponsors logos. The advantages of heat seal vinyl is no minimum requirements, cost effective easily applied to most garments. SCREEN PRINTING This is the application of a logo using a special paint applied through a screen onto the garment, to give it a long lasting finish when dried. The process is effective for 1 to 2 color logo s & can be applied to most garments. Advantages: 1 color logos can be very cost effective & quick turnaround. Disadvantage; multi-color logos will be more expensive than the above mentioned options WOVEN BADGES Woven badges are the preference of choice for most International teams & local A-League clubs around Australia. The detail that can be achieved in a woven badge is much greater than the stitches by an embroidery machine. The badges can be applied in two ways ; Heat Seal where the back of the badge has a special adhesive applied & when pressed at 150 degrees will activate the glue to adhere to the garment. The only disadvantage is that you can t put them in a tumble dryer as it will affect the adhesive qualities of the heat seal glue.
