Seriously, come on Spring! Who else is over all of this cold blustery weather and is ready to start complaining about how hot it is? I know I am! Here in Northern Nevada, we have seen one of the wettest and snowiest winters in years. I know many others around the country have been facing the same. Even in Arizona! Sheesh! Enough already! Ok, enough about the dang weather, let s talk about the other exciting thing that happens this time of year. The official start of the Cowboy Fast Draw Season! Our first titled event kicks off in March with the Texas State. There are some really great competitions planned this year, so be sure to stay up to date and check out our 2019 CFDA events page on our main website. Important Reminders - When you create your application for your event, make sure to include the actual address of the event! This is extremely helpful for first time attendees or spectators wanting to come check out your Editorial event. Please also make sure there is a contact person listed for any questions. ALSO, be sure to get your applications and event information sent to us in a timely manner. When I create ads for the Gunslinger s Gazette I use your applications and schedules to build the ad. So please, please, please make sure you email us all forms you want posted to info@cowboyfastdraw.com if you have not already done so. Speaking of the CFDA Events page, if your club hosts a yearly contest you would like added to the schedule, feel free to send that to us as well. We want to help get the word out about your events! Thank you to everyone who submitted articles and pictures for this issue. You are very much appreciated. I can t wait to see what this year has in store for CFDA. Page 4 Spring 2019 Gunslinger s Gazette Another great year of Cowboy Fast Draw has come and gone, as together we begin a new year filled with seeing old friends and making new ones, all in an atmosphere of enjoying the common interest we share, the sport of Cowboy Fast Draw! What is it, that makes Cowboy Fast Draw so unique, to the point that it has become a lifestyle to so many of our members, who we call our CFDA Family? I firmly believe that with each round drawn, we share something that creates a bond between us. When our names, by which we are known, are announced, we are drawn to the firing line to meet a challenge. The ultimate challenge is within ourselves to perform to the best of our ability, and that is what we share with our opponent. We were called to the line, we put it all on the line, we leave it all on the line, and we earned each other s respect. The (W s) and (X s) are just temporary, as they will soon just fade into the history of match results, but the bond of mutual respect is what remains and can last for many years to come. The above paragraph is how I feel, and I hope that all of our members find that out for themselves. I ve built a lifetime of friendships through shooting competitions, sometimes years and even decades have passed before we meet again. Yes, there may be some catching up to do, but in a very short amount of time, it feels like the last time we met was only a moment ago. 10th Edition - Gunslinger s Rules, Guidelines and Handbook We have enclosed a copy of the 10 Edition with this, our Spring Issue of the Gunslinger s Gazette. We have changed it back to the format used prior to the 9th Edition. While the 9th Edition with the thicker cover was nice, that format just didn t hold enough of the information. Back again are the Range Officer Program, Youth Program, and Affiliated Clubs sections. We had noticed a lot more questions at CFDA Headquarters recently regarding these subjects, so we felt our members needed more information at their fingertips. This publication is as much of a Handbook as it is a Rulebook. When you have questions, please refer to the Table of Contents, which has 13 major sections. These sections have been re-organized to Inside The CFDA By: Quick Cal, Executive Director better help you find the answers you seek. I suggest that all of our members read through this 10th Edition and keep your copy with you, as a reference, when traveling to CFDA events. Afterall, it is a member s responsibility to know the rules of our game. Major Safety Rule #1. - Warning!!! This is a very important Safety Rule adjustment that has been added beginning this season. CFDA has always prided itself on Our Motto: Safety First, Fun Second, and Competition Third! Just this one short phrase, defines most aspects of our sport. And, Safety is Always First! At the 2018 U.S. Marshal s Muster, we had quite a discussion about this topic. As an NRA Affiliated Organization, CFDA has always published THE NRA GENERAL FIREARM SAFETY RULES in our Rulebooks. In the 10th Edition, you will find them on Page 36. Beginning with this 10th Edition, we have moved Rule #1. into our MAJOR SAFETY VIOLATIONS (MSV) Section, where it should also be. Page 37, Rule #1. ALWAYS Keep Firearms Pointed in a Safe Direction, Loaded or Not. A Safe Direction means that the firearm is pointed so that if it were to discharge, it would not cause injury or unintended damage. Never Point a Firearm at Anything, Unless You are Willing to Destroy it! The U.S. Marshals felt that it was extremely important to Warn & Inform our membership on how the application of this rule would apply to our events, especially in THREE AREAS. First, the easier one to understand Page 34. Technical Violation #8. GUNS MUST REMAIN HOLSTERED on the firing line until the Load and Make Ready command is given by an official. This remains a (TV), for which the 1st Violation receives a Warning, but this rules has always assumed that since this command is normally given at the beginning of a round, that there is no one downrange. If there actually is someone downrange and a shooter unholsters their gun before the Load and Make Ready command is given, or if it occurs in the middle of a round, then it falls under Standard Safety Violation, Rule #1. Down Range Rule: (Page 36.) 1st Penalty is Loss of Round. Note: If a firearm is pointed directly at anyone, Major Safety Rule #1 Applies. This note is highlighted in Red for a very important reason. This means that if you re on Lane 6, for instance, and you unholster your gun while someone is downrange on Lane 1 or 2, and you do not point the gun in their direction, it is still an immediate Loss of Round. But, if you do point the gun in their direction, it is an immediate Match DQ. The Second, has to do with Cleaning Tables... Major Safety Violation, Rule #1. also applies to gun handling at Cleaning Tables, or anywhere else at a CFDA event! There are only two exceptions. (Please See Page 37.) A. Guns that have had cylinders removed for servicing/cleaning at a cleaning table. B. Entertainment or gun handling demonstrations approved by the Match Director, but must be certified as unloaded by an official. In regards to Cleaning Tables, we have noticed some shooters who do not remove their cylinders, have gotten into the habit of turning their six-guns around so that the barrel is sweeping everyone behind them while they rod out their barrel. This is no longer permitted, and could result in a Match DQ! If you do not remove your cylinder to rod out your barrel, then please practice either keeping your barrel pointed at the backstop in front of the cleaning table. Or, if this is too difficult, then just remove the cylinder and it is no issue. The Third is Gun Checking Tables We have seen Gun Check Tables situated in the middle of rooms, where it makes it almost impossible not to point the gun in someone s direction while being checked. Beginning this year, all Gun Check Tables must be situated against a wall or backstop and officials checking them must use caution and learn to position themselves, so that they don t sweep anyone while inspecting holsters and six-guns. CFDA Goals With each new edition of our rules, we ask all members to review our Founder s Letter page, along with our Goals on the following page. Our Second Bullet is: To educate as many people as possible in the safe and proper use of firearms. Because of our commitment to this goal, all CFDA Affiliated Clubs should be considered Community Service Organizations. Due to the many events we conduct in public places, we should always pride ourselves in being positive examples of safe gun handling. Our members, which includes youth and adults, who may never have had the opportunity to learn the proper rules of gun safety, receive training that far exceeds what is available to average gun owners in America. Such knowledge, when applied, helps prevent firearm accidents from happening for all of the lives that we touch, we should ALL be very proud of that! In Closing These past few year, I ve had to make some tough decisions. No decision was taken lightly and without looking at all sides of each issue. I believe our sport is better off because of these changes, and I fully realize that there are those who disagree. I sincerely wish there will never be a reason to change or make another rule again. But the reality is, that Cowboy Fast Draw, like any other sport, is an artform, therefore is a form of self-expression. There will always be those who define their art on their own terms. There must also be rules and limits to any sport, that protect the both the integrity and safety of the game. It has always been my goal, as Executive Director, to earn the confidence of our general membership in my leadership. I ve contributed decades of my life to sports and tournament administration in four different shooting sports, and I ve had over 40 years of business experience. There is also a team of dedicated members who are Club Leaders who manage our affiliated clubs and host our CFDA Titled Championships. There are also CFDA Regulators, U.S. Marshals and Approved Instructors, I consult with them, and do my best to provide them advise or whatever else they may need. CFDA is bigger than any one of us, and we have all worked together to refine our sport into what it has become, and we must stick together and continue to guide Cowboy Fast Draw into what it can become in the future. I have personally witnessed the general sport of Fast Draw fracture itself for over 60 years, arguing about the same old things, usually involving Speed vs Accuracy. Cowboy Fast Draw was designed to have the proper balance between speed and accuracy, and it s going to stay that way. With that said, there will always be those, who want it all about speed, and those, who want it all about accuracy. They, of course, are free to continue having those some old arguments amongst themselves. I, for one, don t have time for what doesn t work anymore, been there, done that. At CFDA events we ll just keep smiling, making friends, making history, and having fun. We will always welcome anyone to join the fun anytime they want. Hope to see YOU at a CFDA Titled Championship Soon!

Gunslinger s Gazette Spring 2019 Page 5 Membership News and Announcements By: Alotta Lead, CFDA Membership Director Happy New Year! The year 2019 will be a great one for CFDA. The sport is growing with new members, the fun and excitement is whirling around in the air for the chance to get the first shot off at a titled CFDA match and our itchy trigger fingers are ready to go! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday. We had a blast, as usual. The greatest gift of all was to be with all our family and extended family members for several days and watching the grand kids have a blast, having our big sleep overs around the Christmas trees, and watching our new pups have the best time of their lives. Yes, we have another CFDA critter we named Quigley. He s a Border Collie mix, about the same height as Rowdy and the same age, both youngsters. They re so much fun to have around, their doggy antics are hilarious, the dog politics can get pretty intense but they have been best buddies since the day we brought home Quigley. He s a wonderful addition to our family! Rowdy loves his new brother! All of us here at the CFDA Headquarters are working hard on the upcoming 2019 CFDA titled championships we host, which is the 2019 NEVADA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, THE WESTERN TERRITORIAL CHAMPIONSHIP, and of course the 2019 FASTEST GUN ALIVE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. We have all hands on board helping make them the best matches we can produce. We have so much fun, with the meetings, all our discussions, ordering this and that, making tons of trophies, just getting all our horses in a row so to speak! Plan on attending the 2019 FGA World Championship! Online registration will be up and going by March 1 st. Don t miss out on CFDA s biggest event of the year. We have a few surprises in store so be there for the fun! So pack your duds and shootin gear and head to Fallon Nevada Oct 4 th 6 th with other FGA activities starting Wednesday Oct. 2 nd. If you have the 4 th of July weekend open, we re going to have the best time ever hosting the Nevada State and Western Territorial matches. This year s events land on the weekend of the 4 th, so what better way to celebrate than to have a 4 th of July BBQ, right here in our backyard at our ranch after a fun day of category matches and pot shoots and practice? Fernley is home to one of the best 4 th of July fireworks displays in Northern Nevada. Friday will be the start of the Nevada State, with Saturday and Sunday being the Western States Territorial Championship. Don t miss out on the fun, it s going to be a blast! Online registration is available now. This year s CFDA Life Member Dinner reception at the Fastest Gun Alive is going to be a hoot!. We have received many ideas from around the country on which theme to go with for 2019 and we ve elected to go with the theme... The WILD, WILD, WEST! If you need to check it out, refer to the 1960 s TV series of that name, also the movie with the same name starring Will Smith which came out about 20 years ago. Check out their clothing mainly for Victorian Steampunk inspirational ideas on how to win one of the many trophies we give out to all the best dressed winners. We had so much fun last year with the Spaghetti Western theme, and now that we re going to go with themes from here on out for this annual event, we can t wait to see what everyone comes up with. We ll be taking a vote from the life members in attendance what they would like to see the theme be for 2020!! We ll vote on it right then and there. That will be a ton of fun! Once in a blue moon we ll have a several items that come up that need to be addressed, so here s a few of interest... When sending CFDA a check or money order, please put a note in with it, paperwork, etc., anything to let us know what the check is for. Usually if it s for renewals, that s pretty easy to figure out, however we still need a name on it, but once in a while we ll receive just a money order or check with no name on it from a club or member for an odd dollar amount with no mention as to what it s for, please attach a short note or name to let us know where to apply it. Helps us a lot with our bookkeeping! The 10 th edition of the CFDA Rule-Handbook is loaded with so much information from cover to cover, keep it with you at matches, and refer to it even if you think you know the answer. There is a wealth of information right at your fingertips. Please try and keep in costume when at CFDA events, through the duration of a CFDA match, dinners, award ceremonies etc. We love to keep the fun atmosphere of the great western theme going on throughout the weekend! Western night time sleep wear is optional LOL. You re on your own there! A few other items will pop up from time to time and as they do we ll address them as needed. All in all, most everyone knows the what, where, and how of CFDA! But if there s ever a question that s burning at you, please contact us, we re always accessible to talk all and everything CFDA but please know we are always here, Quick Cal is always pretty much here in the office, and if you have a question, get it right from him, he s the most knowledgeable about CFDA, firearms, club information, Regulator questions, CFDA U.S. Marshal questions, you get the point, we re here and we aim to please!! In closing we want to thank all that purchase products from the CFDA General Store. It sure is appreciated and we thank you. Also please note that CFDA membership fees will be going up a bit January 2020. We ve gotten great support from the folks and members we mentioned it to and everyone understands and supports it. I might suggest that if you need to renew, do it now, get a 3 year renewal to lock in the current fee for three years. It will save you some greenbacks and you don t have to worry about your expiration date for three whole years. Give our office a call, 775-575-1802, ask for Jackie Daniels CFDA s membership director for help in getting you set up for the three year renewal at the locked in 3-year renewal fee. We ll see you down the CFDA trail somewhere soon! Take care and I m proud to say Ride for the Brand a truly honorable brand! Til next time ~ Have FUN and have a great CFDA Day! Page 6 Spring 2019 Gunslinger s Gazette 2018 Top Guns By: Quick Cal Men s Top Gun of the Year Oregon Ranger CFDA #2039 TJ Vonfeldt a.k.a. Oregon Ranger (Portland, OR) is a 3rd Generation Cowboy Fast Draw Shooter. He started shooting Fast Draw at a very young age (8 years old) under the guidance of his Father, Todd a.k.a. Oregon Cowboy CFDA #830, and his Grandfather, Jim a.k.a. Gentleman Jim CFDA #726, who began shooting Fast Draw during the 1960 s. Growing up, TJ loved to watch westerns with his Dad and Grandpa and said, It s my love of guns and the Old West that keeps me going. He also had great teachers with both Gentleman Jim and Oregon Cowboy being world-class competitors. Oregon Cowboy was runner-up at the 2010 FGA, and Gentleman Jim has won numerous CFDA Titles including back to back Great Northwest Territorial Championships (2010 & 2011). At age 12, Oregon Ranger caught the attention of CFDA Management as he began to develop his speed and accuracy, faster than any Youth Shooter we had seen at that point. This led to CFDA s adoption of the Level 4 Youth Program in 2010, which acknowledges the fact that our Youth Shooters develop their skills at different rates. At ages 13 & 14, Oregon Ranger started making appearances in final rounds of championships. He ended up in final round of the 2011 Nevada State Championship, placing 2nd with his Grandpa, Gentleman Jim, winning. But the Kid kept developing by learning to shoot consistent shots in the 3 s. Then, on October 2nd, 2011, Oregon Ranger (Age 14) accomplished something that stunned not only the Sport of Cowboy Fast Draw, but also millions of viewers on Outdoor Channel s - Shooting USA, he won the Men s Fastest Gun Alive - World Championship in Fallon, NV!!! Over the next few years Oregon Ranger did not win another CFDA Title. But, much like how Tiger Woods kept working on his Golf swing, even after winning the Masters, TJ kept working on developing his draw. In 2014, he made his second appearance in the FGA Finals, going up against Marshal Cooper in the Final Round. It was a hard fought duel against a man who was on a roll, and Marshal Cooper won capping off his incredible season! But, those of us who are students of the game noticed something different about Oregon Ranger, he had matured. The following year, 2015, he accomplished another milestone. He became the first man to win two CFDA FGA - World Championship Titles, at age 18. In the years since, he has become even more consistent and has now won four FGA Titles in a row, 5th Overall! In 2018, Oregon Ranger whose travels were limited to only six of CFDA s Titles in the Western U.S., won the Oregon State, Great Northwest Territorial, Nevada State, and Western Territorial, as he was preparing to defend his FGA Title. He was just hoping he would just place in the Top 10 in Top Gun Points, since he only competed in the 6 maximum Titled Championships that count in the points race, so he didn t have much room for error. The only major contest that he entered and didn t win was the California State Championship, where he only earned 14 points. Whereas, Old West in his quest to repeat his Top Gun of the Year Title had built a considerable lead in the points going in to FGA, including 60 points from his National Championship. It wasn t until Saturday Night, when former Top Gun of the Year, Bounty Hunter, told him that if he won the FGA Finals the next day he would win Top Gun of the Year by one point! As we all know, he pulled it off! According to Oregon Ranger, Winning both the FGA and Top Gun Title at the same time was one of the greatest feelings, I have ever had, it was really special! How about some tips for your fellow shooters? Watch and listen, you can learn a little from all shooters. But, realize that everyone is different, and no one draw can work for everyone. You must develop what works for you. Practice trial and error, especially at contests. He added, While practicing with others may be more fun, it s sometimes better to practice alone. You can concentrate your thoughts better and fine tune your movements. Focus on correcting mistakes in order to develop your own draw. Never give up and always have goals, strive to get better, and treat everyone with respect. What are your goals for 2019? My Goal for 2019 was to start shooting my long-gun, but that will have to wait as I am still developing my equipment. Instead, my goal this year is to win the National Championship, which is the only Major Title that I have not yet won. 1st: Oregon Ranger - 264 pts, 2nd: Old West - 263 pts, 3rd: 2 Buck Chuck - 256 pts, 4th: Bounty Hunter - 256 pts, 5th: Big Ugly - 253 pts, 6th: Quick Cal - 250 pts, 7th: Short Keg - 250 pts, 8th: Lead Poison - 241 pts, 9th: Crosswired - 241 pts, 10th: Tank - 233 pts

Gunslinger s Gazette Spring 2019 Page 7 of the Year! Ladies Top Gun of the Year Holli Day CFDA #3834 Tracy Stanton a.k.a. Holli Day (Buckeye, AZ) got interested in Cowboy Fast Draw in late 2014 when she attended her first club shoot with her Father, High Strung CFDA #3888. She was able to hit the target consistently in the 70 s & 80 s and in her very first round she shot against Fast Draw Legend (WOW) Wild Onion Willie CFDA #671 and won by hitting every shot, even though WOW was faster! Holli Day was hooked on CFDA right then, because instead of acting disappointed WOW came up and hugged her, and gave her words of encouragement, and has been doing so ever since. It was when Holli Day began traveling to CFDA Titled Championships and meeting the Lady Legends of our sport like Miss B. Haven CFDA #L91, Slowpoke CFDA #L2361, Alotta Lead CFDA #L37, Honey Badger CFDA #2902, K.K. Kid CFDA #L1868, and Lefty Lipscomb CFDA #L931 (just a few she named), she really became inspired about learning to compete at a high level. But, just competing at a championship level was just part of her commitment. Her ultimate goal was to become a True Champion, who whether they win or lose do so with honor and grace, and then give back to the great sport that CFDA has become. Holli Day worked hard to develop her skill during the 2015 season. She studied the top men and lady shooters of the game and kept trying different things to develop a winning strategy. But, she soon realized that practicing hard does pay off to prepare you for a contest, but when it comes to competing she said, You must let go of winning at all costs. You will have good days and bad days. The Lord, and the degree of difficulty hitting Cowboy Fast Draw targets, will humble you. She added, I m happy for everyone who wins a CFDA contest, because it is a hard thing to do for anyone. So, I just Have Fun with my shooting, focus on the light, because anyone that knows me also knows I like Bright and Shiny Bling! When asked what she is most proud of, Holli Day answered, I m most proud of being a Mom! But when it comes to Cowboy Fast Draw, it is definitely winning the 2016 Arizona State Championship! She added, That was my 1st CFDA Titled Championship and I was able to do that in the very location where I began this sport, and against a True Champion, Slowpoke. In the finals my gun broke and she was so patient and gracious. Then, after I got the gun fixed, I was able to keep my composure and give it my all to win my first championship! What does winning the 2018 Top Gun of the Year mean to you? Holli Day answered, I am Honored, and I m also so grateful to my family and friends who supported and helped push me to win! It was really the experience of a team effort of all the people that helped me to get there. What are your goals for 2019? Of course, winning the Fastest Gun Alive is always the ultimate goal. I just want to give back to a sport and group of wonderful people that have given me so much. Plus, I would just love to win a CFDA Title with my family members. Do you have some tips for shooters? Cowboy Fast Draw can be a real roller coaster, just keep working at it. You ll have good and bad days, look to the positives and go on. Change it up, don t be afraid to try new things. And, Don t Forget to Have Fun! 2018 Top Guns of the Year Holli Day & Oregon Ranger Director s Comment: It was my honor to interview these two great champions. It is CFDA Tradition to dedicate our Spring Issue each year to our reining Top Guns of the Year, that was earned in the previous season. I hope our members enjoy their inspiring words and attitudes, as much as I enjoyed writing them. Let s all look forward to a great 2019 Season! 1st: Holli Day - 294 pts, 2nd: K.K. Page 8 Spring 2019 Gunslinger s Gazette Last Chance Shoot By Mother Nature 2018 Nebraska State Championship and Great Plains Territorial Valentine, Nebraska - September 14 th of 2018 found shooters from all over the United States gathering in Valentine, Nebraska, the heart of the Sandhills, to gather those last few Top Gun points and to compete for honors in the Nebraska State Championship and the Great Plains Territorial hosted by the Sparks NE Spurs. The weather had cooled somewhat from the summer highs, but never fear, we had some beautiful days of shooting under the pavilion at the Cherry County Fairgrounds. Friday morning began damp and foggy with approximately 80 shooters gathering for the first day of shooting. The entire Nebraska State Championship was shot in one day, and when the smoke cleared, the winners were declared. For the women, Huckleberry Honey from California took first place, Lakota Lady from South Dakota had come in second, and Sagebrush, another fine South Dakota shooter, had placed third. In men s competition, Powder Keg from Nevada took first place, Hyde Hunter from South Dakota placed second, and the Spark s NE Spurs very own Beaver Creek Kid finished in third place. A relaxing evening was spent having supper alfresco at the Neon Lounge with the Raine Motel, giving us a chance to refuel after a busy day, then off to bed for another day of shooting on Saturday. Once again, we began the day with damp and foggy weather, but it quickly burned off and gave us another beautiful day for the Great Plains Territorial. A few new shooters showed up and some from the day before dropped out once again giving us around 80 shooters. We shot eight rounds on Saturday, quitting early enough to get dressed and ready for the banquet at the Peppermill, where we were served a delicious steak supper. A hilarious costume contest, with winners receiving coveted gift certificates furnished by Young s Western Wear, and some other hijinks by the MC, Sandbur, finished off the day s activities. Thanks to all the silent auction and live auction winners! Shooting resumed on Sunday and continued until the final winners were declared. Winning the ladies competition for the Great Plains Territorial was the K.K. Kid from Texas, Lefty Lipscomb from Idaho placing a close second, and another Texan, Texas Rose, coming in third. In a hotly contested men s match, Boulder Vaquero from South Dakota came in a smoking first, Bounty Hunter from Idaho was in second place, and another Spark s NE Spur member, Real McCoy, finished third. After the points were calculated, Top Couple award, a beautiful embroidered set of pillow cases donated by club member Loren Appleman, was given to Beaver Creek Kid and Mother Nature from the Sparks NE Spurs. Bragging Rights Trophies from the Second Chance Shoot went to Huckleberry Honey in third, Swoots in second, and Lakota Lady for first place. In the men s division Gun 4 Hire took third, Roscoe came in second and top honors went to Fowl Shot. The funds generated from the Second Chance Shoot were donated to the Nebraska Honor Flight to send veterans to Washington, D.C. The Hot Square Contest Gun was won by Fossilman from Minnesota. And with that, another Last Chance shoot was in the books. Congratulations were handed out, goodbyes were said, promises to get together again and everyone was on the road again. Thanks to all the contestants for making the journey to Valentine, NE and for all the help that we received to put on our shoot. Please join us next time September 20, 2019 for the Nebraska State Shoot and September 21 & 22, 2019 for the Great Plains Territorial Shoot. Get your LAST CHANCE for CFDA points at our shoot! Page 12 Spring 2019 Gunslinger s Gazette Since 2006, after each season the Directors of CFDA have the honor of recognizing our CFDA Club of the Year. We not only reflect upon the most recent year, but also consider past years of achievements of our entire network of clubs. It s always a challenging decision, since so many deserving club members are instrumental in building and developing their clubs. As new clubs form and develop, so grows our sport. CFDA Affiliated Clubs are the very foundation of the Sport of Cowboy Fast Draw! There are certain key factors we use in determining Club of the Year. Among them, consistently building the membership; hosting a CFDA Titled Championship (when such opportunities are available); overcoming obstacles, such as losing a range or key members; and just generally providing a positive experience for all CFDA members in their area to enjoy. This year we have chosen a club that is one of our oldest clubs in CFDA, founded in 2005, it was the first CFDA Affiliated Club in the Western Time Zone. This club has been overlooked in past years, even though its members have deserved this honor for a very long time. They have endured being the trial and error proving ground for almost every new innovation that is developed for our sport. This year, we have finally chosen the Great Basin Gun Hawks, of Fernley, NV! The Great Basin Gun Hawks have quietly become CFDA s largest club (86 Total Members) with 67 Primary Members being reported for the CFDA/NRA Insurance Program this year! 2018 CFDA Club of the Year The Great Basin Gun Hawks Fernley, NV The Great Basin Gun Hawks are based at CFDA Headquarters at the world-famous Bat Barn, which has been used to film many of CFDA s instructional videos. The facility is a 6-Lane Indoor Range, with tables and seating areas, and room to expand to 18 Lanes by installing two additional outdoor 6-Lane Ranges. The members of the Gun Hawks work hard, much of it behind the scenes, by helping to load ammunition, setting up and tearing down events, in association with CFDA as hosts the Nevada State, Western Territorial, and are a major part each year of the Fastest Gun Alive. The Gun Hawks have doubled in size, just in the past two years, through the Invitation to be a Gunslinger program. Club matches are held on the 4th Monday night and 2nd Saturday of each month, with open practice for members and guests every Monday night. Plus, officers can organize additional club practices for new and improving members. Our club s goal for the past several months has been to host one Invitation to be a Gunslinger session per month on the Sunday following our Saturday Match. Some sessions may only have a few Greenhorns, but we ve also had up to 12. By having this session the day after our monthly shoot, we know how many Veteran Gunslingers to ask to volunteer as coaches. Once, the Greenhorns have successfully completed the session, we have lunch and present Gunslinger Certificates. The Results Are: * The majority of our new Gunslingers end up acquiring equipment and joining the club, soon after. * Our Veteran Gunslinger Coaches reinforce their own knowledge, and enjoy meeting and making new friends to enjoy our sport with. * A more focused education program for our newest members, that makes them feel more involved and welcome. Crook County Fairgrounds 1280 Main Street ~ Prineville, Oregon Contact: ettamae@yahoo.com Facebook Page: Crooked River Rangers * A renewed interest from many of our older club members. * The spirit of our club has been revitalized. Our club feels young once again! 2019 Board of Directors: President, Nevada Smith, #L99 Vice President, Olden Fast, #L3613 Secretary, Jackie Daniels #L2472 Treasurer, The Lady Heather, #4486 U.S. Marshal, Chisum #L2052 Club Founders & Hosts: Quick Cal, #L2 & Alotta Lead, #L37 Congratulations to the Great Basin Gun Hawks - A Well Deserved Award!

Page 14 Spring 2019 Gunslinger s Gazette 2018 Nevada State and Western Territorial ChampionshipBy: CFDA Staff Fernley, Nevada - The Nevada State Cowboy Fast Draw Championship was held at the QC~AL Ranch in Fernley, NV, the home of Quick Cal & Alotta Lead and CFDA Headquarters. CFDA, in association with the Great Basin Gun Hawks hosted the Nevada State for the 2nd year, and this year added the Western Territorial for a 4-Day Event that ran August 16th - 19th. We rearranged our setup from 2017. Last year we used the War Wagon in the pasture to create two 6-Lane Ranges. In 2018, we installed two FGA Pipe Ranges next to the Bat Barn. Throughout the event, even though it started to get pretty warm in the afternoons, we were able pare the match down so that the final rounds ended up in the much cooler 6-Lane Range in the Bat Barn. We conducted our Jackpot Warmup Shoot on Thursday, with about 60 shooters. Curley Calhoun was on hand to teach a Range Master Class after the conclusion of the match, with a Meet & Greet starting at 5:30 NEVADA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP The Nevada State was conducted (Friday) all in one day. It was a Last Man Standing Format 4-X Contest, using 17-3/16 Targets @ 15. With three 6-Lane Ranges, it moved very quickly, thanks to great job of scorekeeping by The Lady Heather, with a helping hand from Six Iron Butterfly. The match was finished by 4:30, with the final rounds being conducted with everyone not in the final rounds watching standing room only inside the Bat Barn. Friday night was an Open Night, but wherever gunfighters gather, there are always cool drinks flowing and stories to be told. Many of the shooters were also camping at the ranch, and just enjoyed a relaxing evening. Even in the Summer, here in the Nevada High Desert of Northern Nevada, it cools down to a very pleasant temperature. 2018 Nevada State Champions Huckleberry Honey & Oregon Ranger 2018 Nevada State Championship Results 2018 Western Territorial Championship Results Top 15 Men 1 st Oregon Ranger OR 2 nd Quick Cal NV 3 rd Cowboy Up CA 4 th Crosswired OR 5 th The Shootist TX 6 th Alonzo Slim AZ 7 th Short Keg NV 8 th Run Fat Man Run CA 9 th The Texan ID 10 th Red Ryder CA 11 th Vic Torious AR 12 th Dead Eye Kid NV 13 th the Gunslinger ID 14 th Old Drifter CA 15 th Bad Boy NV Junior Boy 1 st Crosswired OR 2 nd Dynamite Kid OR 3 rd Tank ID Junior Girl 1 st Shotgun Diva ID Top 10 Ladies 1 st Huckleberry Honey CA 2 nd Miss B Haven ID 3 rd Harley Quinnn CA 4 th Cardoza Kid CA 5 th Lacy Gone Wild CA 6 th Sassy Mustang Gal CA 7 th Viper NV 8 th Calif Red CA 9 th Lady Hawk ID 10 th Alotta Lead NV Fastest Times Men Oregon Ranger -.310 Ladies Lacy Gone Wild -.401 Main Match Shootists Top 3 Men Top Lady 1 st The Shootist TX 1 st Lady Hawk ID 2 nd B.A. UT 3 rd Cody ID Top 15 Men 1 st Oregon Ranger OR 2 nd Cowboy Up CA 3 rd Quick Cal NV 4 th Vic Torious AR 5 th Run Fat Man Run CA 6 th Dangerous Dan WA 7 th Joker CA 8 th Old West AZ 9 th Oregon Cowboy OR 10 th Red Lead Slinger ID 11 th Tank ID 12 th Sheriff Rango NV 13 th Dead Eye Kid NV 14 th Bounty Hunter ID 15 th Buzzard Cooper ID Spirit of the Game - The Lady Heather Main Match Shootists Top 3 Men Top Lady 1 st Red Lead Slinger ID 1 st Lady Hawk ID 2 nd The Shootist TX 3 rd Cody ID Top 10 Ladies 1 st Miss B Haven ID 2 nd Lady Hawks ID 3 rd Sassy Mustang Gal CA 4 th Lefty Lipscomb ID 5 th Slowpoke UT 6 th Sweet Fuse WA 7 th Alotta Lead NV 8 th Viper NV 9 th Lacy Gone Wild CA 10 th Sagebrush Sal ID Junior Boy 1 st Tank ID 2 nd Sheriff Rango NV 3 rd Dynamite Kid OR Junior Girl 1 st Shotgun Diva ID Fastest Times Men Oregon Ranger-.319 Ladies Shotgun Diva -.408 Jack Pot Shoot Winners Men Ladies 1 st Quick Cal NV 1 st Lefty Lipscomb ID 2 nd Sheriff Rango NV 2 nd Cardoza Kid CA 3 rd W. Gunslinger s Gazette WESTERN TERRITORIAL CHAMPIONSHIP Saturday Morning began with a Shooter s Meeting where Match Director, Quick Cal asked his 5-year old granddaughter, Shelby, to lead Pledge of Allegiance, and she recited it flawlessly! Today s challenge was to run the entire Championship with a 4-X (3 out of 5) format down to the Magnificent 7 Finals, which would keep our Sunday Schedule so that we could have a Bracket Match for all, preceding the Final Shootoffs. Once again, the shooters pitched in very efficiently to run their posse s and the scoring team kept the rounds flowing all day. We were once again in the Bat Barn by mid-afternoon getting down to the Magnificent 7! The range was then closed and while some of the shooters relaxed under the shade trees to enjoy a cool drink, others went back to their RVs or motel rooms to get refreshed and ready to return to our Free Barbeque and Awards that could be presented so far for the entire weekend. It got a little dark for photos, but it sure was a pleasant evening. Sunday, after the Pledge and a Prayer. Quick Cal got us organized for the day and explained the details of the Bracket Shoot. There were 3 Brackets, and three 6-Lane Ranges to run them on in a Spring 2019 2-X (Nevada 8 Format), with one bracket assigned to each range. At 9 a.m., Lady Heather posted the Lane Assignments and gun shots were soon heard. We were finished by 11:30, then everyone had something to eat and drink, as they staked their claim for a good place in the Bat Barn to watch the Finals, using Balloon-Disc Targets. It was time for the Magnificent 7 Finals! Among the highlights were that Miss B Haven, who had finished second in the Nevada State, won the Ladies Western Territorial and proved to be the most consistent lady shooter for the weekend! In the Men s Division the top 3 men only changed slightly in order with Cowboy Up & Quick Cal trading 2nd and 3rd Place, from the Nevada State, but Oregon Ranger dominated the weekend by winning both the Nevada State & Western Territorial! This Kid is getting tough to beat, as just 6 weeks later he captured his 5th FGA Title! Thanks to everyone for making this one of the most fun and laid back tournaments on the Top Gun Points Tour! We ll see you again this year July 4th - 7th at the QC~AL Ranch, once again, for the 2019 Nevada State & Western Territorial! This year we are adding more shade for Range B, which is the only complaint we received last year. See Ya ll There!!! Page 16 Spring 2019 Gunslinger s Gazette Gunslinger Laser Targets Gunslinger Laser Targets, an accessory to the Gunslinger Cowboy Fast Draw Timer, has been an ongoing project for the past 4 years. There are two main goals to this project. #1. To bring an affordable and convenient way for CFDA Members who want to improve and stay proficient with their Cowboy Fast Draw abilities. #2. To make these units reliable enough to someday be able to conduct Cowboy Fast Draw (Laser Version) Championships, in locations where shooting Cowboy Fast Draw with wax bullet ammunition is not possible. A Little History Chucky CFDA #L3, had a Laser Target working for the first time in 2006, that was compatible with the Precision Timer he pioneered. It required only one, but very expensive, Beam Hit Laser Unit that was inserted into the barrel of the gun. This laser unit emitted a short pulse, based upon vibration, when the hammer struck the frame. But, since we speed-cocked our sixguns it would actually emit two pulses, once when we cocked the six-gun, and a second pulse when the hammer struck the frame. That worked O.K. since all we were really concerned about was the second pulse. Then in late 2007, the manufacturer (Beam Hit) increased the length of the pulse, to make it compatible with the new Shoot or Don t Shoot training videos that were being developed at the time. This also increased the recovery time needed for the unit to reset after the first pulse. The result for us was that if we fired a laser-shot much faster than.500, there was just no second pulse, which rendered them useless for Cowboy Fast Draw. They refused to accommodate us, we were just too small of scale to get their attention. 1st Generation Laser Target In February of 2015, I began working on this project with my friend David Swanberg, who is my partner when it comes to creating the electronic boards that support the project functions that I design. After several months and thousands of By: Quick Cal dollars of R&D, we had a working model. We introduced the original Gunslinger Laser Target in the Spring of 2016! Our 1st Generation Laser Targets did have some limitations, such as having to adjust the units to lighting conditions in various rooms, and that they would just not work outdoors, even in the shade of a tent. They did work well though, and still do, when used within those limitations. We designed two modes, one (Universal) Mode, that would work with any Red Dot Laser. I felt this was important, since many of our members had already invested in various brands of cartridge lasers, plus we carried highquality SureStrike Lasers. But, the problem was that even though the standard SureStrike Laser Cartridge had only a 5/100th pulse, 5 hundredths of a second is an eternity to a high level Cowboy Fast Draw shooter. Fast shooters can initiate the pulse a few feet off of the target and still sweep the pulse onto the target to record a hit. That would render our 1st Generation Laser Target, in Universal Mode, useless in determining whether the shooter was actually firing a laser-shot that would actually hit a regulation CFDA Target. We needed a (CFDA) Mode, so I contacted the SureStrike company, which is actually located in Israel. Through a series of technical emails they agreed to program CFDA Sure/Strike Lasers to my specifications. These have a special frequency that is emitted only in the first 1/1000th, of the 5/100th pulse. While this does make Laser Competitions possible, the major drawback was the expense of these CFDA/Surestrike Lasers, with the required 45lc Adapters at $169. I have always thought this is too expensive and have definitely affected the demand for our 1st Generation Laser Targets, But, for those who could afford to purchase the targets and the required lasers, it did provide very convenient and relevant practice. Unfortunately, these units are also a little too temperamental for lighting conditions to be used for viable Laser Competitions. 2nd Generation Laser Target II We had already begun re-developing our Laser Target into a lighter and lower cost unit and were able to adapt our programming so that in most cases the laser will not record a hit on the target unless the initial pulse of the beam occurs on the target. We also were able to make the units less sensitive to lighting conditions so that indoor lighting hardly affects them. They also work well in most outdoor settings, and extremely well if the units are not in direct sunlight. We were also about to invest considerable R&D resources into developing our own brand of lasers. Then in March of 2018, I discovered and tested a low-cost laser, the G-Sight Laser. It showed considerable promise, so we contacted the importing company and set up an account with them. To receive a large enough discount to be able to sell them in the $50 range, we have to order hundreds of units at a time. We thought we brought it to a successful point, but noticed that at our display at the FGA this past year, that there was interference in the area with white noise, that affected the units to the point where they would record premature hits or sometimes not at all. Even though these units worked well in more controlled indoor areas, the increased light created dead spots, because the front defractor lenses did not spread the laser light enough to reach the sensors. Afterall, we really are aiming for a higher standard, in order to make Laser Competition possible. Laser Target II-B This is our latest version, that has gone from 8 to 15 sensors on a much larger round board (See Pictures), which gives it a much higher reliability. Plus, we ve added additional circuitry that has quieted down the susceptibility to white noise. This increased the price to $315, and we no longer can offer the one free G-Sight Laser, in order to keep the price as low as possible. Upgrades Unfortunately, we cannot offer upgrades to the 1st Generation Laser Targets, they are what they are and do work as they were designed, to the limit of the technology we had a few years ago. If you had purchased one of the 50 Laser Target II s that were sold last year, we can offer an upgrade the Laser Target II-B, at a cost that just covers our hard cost, which is $40 per unit, plus the shipping. You will need to call ahead to schedule the upgrade, so we are sure to have the retrofit in stock, and can turn it back around quickly. Exciting News! We are Working on a 17-3/16 Laser Target We have learned so much these past few years. Previously, I had thought that the larger laser targets would be totally out of reach and cost prohibitive. However, we may be on track to introduce a full size 17-3/16 Laser Target, for under $500. However, we have a long way to go and much testing to do. I believe that this could give birth to new clubs across our country and others where finding places to shoot is simply unattainable.

Page 18 Spring 2019 Gunslinger s Gazette Joel Dortch Executive Director Dale Evans, known to millions of fans throughout the world as the Queen of the West, was born Frances Octavia Smith, on October 31, 1912 in Uvalde, TX. At the age of 7, her family moved to Osceola, AR. She was a very bright child and progressed rapidly through school, skipping several grades. Mature for her age, she eloped at 14, had a baby boy at 15, and was divorced by the age of 16. She then attended business school in Memphis, TN, and got a job with a local insurance company. Her boss heard her singing one day and promptly put her on a local radio program. In 1931, she got a better job on a radio station in Louisville, KY, using the stage name of Marion Lee. A station executive changed her on-air name to Dale Evans. She later moved to Dallas, TX to be the featured singer on a popular morning radio show. She then moved to Chicago and joined the Jay Mills Orchestra. Within a short time, she was hired as the lead vocalist with the popular Anson Weeks Orchestra and spent a year touring the country with them. With a successful singing career, Hollywood beckoned. In 1944, Herbert J. Yates, president SILVER SCREEN LEGEND XXII DEDICATED TO DALE EVANS QUEEN OF THE WEST! of Republic Pictures, cast her in a leading role opposite Roy Rogers in The Cowboy and the Senorita. It was a magical match, and Dale went on to appear in 28 features with Roy, followed by 100 episodes of the Roy Rogers Show on TV from 1951 to 1957. They later starred in a variety series and numerous specials on television, while continuing to tour the country appearing in stage shows, headlining rodeos and state fairs. The Happy Trails Children s Foundation is very pleased to dedicate Silver Screen Legend XXII to a magnificent and talented lady, Dale Evans, Queen of the West! The firearms in this Tribute to Dale Evans include a magnificent pair of Colt Single-action Army revolvers from America Remembers in.45 Colt caliber with 5 1/2 barrels. They are beautifully engraved with Dale Evans, Queen of the West on the right side of the frame below the cylinder and Happy Trails down the backstrap. The cylinder is finished in gold and the frame has gold screws. The grips are genuine stag. Included is a gorgeous handcarved Roy Rogers style double holster rig with sterling silver spots and buckle sets. The holster rig is from the shop of Jim Lockwood s Legends in Leather. The gun belt is filled with dummy.45 caliber cartridges donated by Ten-X Ammunition in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Both guns are genuine and subject to all Federal and State firearm regulations. This a magnificent set of guns and holsters that anyone would be proud to own. This is the 22nd year the foundation, through the generosity of the renowned Colt s Manufacturing Co. LLC of Hartford, CT, has used very special guns to raise money for abused children. As a result of our association with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, and the positive and wholesome family values and American Patriotic Traditions they represented, the Happy Trails Children s Foundation is the only known children s charity in the country today that actively supports shooting sports, Second Amendment Rights and responsible gun ownership. In turn, the foundation is supported by generous contributions from shooters, collectors, organized shooting sports, the media and firearms industry. We are proud of this unique partnership! Page 20 Spring 2019 Gunslinger s Gazette TEXAS CIRCUIT By Windmill Kid L1748 After years of talking about more opportunities of shooting events it finally became a reality in January 2018. Boss and Windmill Kid had talked about creating a Texas Circuit shoot for years and then Brad The Quick started the talk again in 2017. Nothing really transpired until The Shootist took it upon him self to call CFDA headquarters and talk to Quick Cal to get it approved. The only stipulation was to not schedule anything that would conflict with the CFDA Shooting events. On February 13, 2018 in Needville, TX the Texas Circuit was born. The first event was hosted by the Lone Star Gunslingers. We had our first meeting of CFDA Regulators, U.S. Marshals and Deputies and the dates for the year were set. Anyone across the US can join us, the entry is $20.00 for adult and $10.00 for youth shooters. The entries are then split between the circuit and the hosting club. The circuit receives $8.00 per adult entry and the hosting club receives $12.00 per adult and 100 percent of the youth entries. Plaques are only given to the top 5 men and ladies, top 3 men and ladies shootist, top 3 Billy the Kid and Annie Oakley also fastest time awards. Some clubs gave special awards for best dressed etc. This is a great fundraiser for the hosting club along with the meals that are sold. We use the top gun system for points. Each club in the state of Texas held an event last year. In June we met up at the North Texas Gunfighters Society home range. It turned out to be a hot one. After the fireworks cleared in July, we were in Mansfield for the DFW Gunslingers shoot. In August we then headed North to Amarillo for the Texas Panhandle Pistoleros. In October we were scheduled to attend the event at the Big Thicket Bushwackers home range in Silsbee. A few weeks before the event Texas Rose found out she would be having heart surgery that week. After prayers were sent her way, then we made our way to Needville again where the Lone Star Gunslinger put a spook shoot together at the last minute. The season ended on November 24 with the final event hosted by Comanche Moon Renegade and the West Texas Rangers in Mansfield at the DFW Gunslingers home range. After a full day of shooting the evening ended with an awards banquet and dinner. Thank you to Miss Betty for keeping score at each event and keeping up with the top gun points. I am not sure who is the meanest, her or Wench when it comes to enforcing rules and keeping everyone in line. It would sure be a mess if we did not have a leader. Miss Betty also created a group on Facebook called TEXAS CIRCUIT. Please ask to join so you can keep up with the first ever state to create a circuit that makes it fun and easy for the ones who can not travel all over the United States for all the CFDA events yearly. The second event has also happened in the west Texas oil patch hosted by Comanche Moon Renegade and The West Texas Rangers. It was a blistering 32 degrees and in Texas, that is COLD. Page 22 Spring 2019 Gunslinger s Gazette The Rose of the Cimarron A Teenage Girl in the Closing Years of the Old West By Texas Joe aka Joe Royer Life was still pretty wild in Oklahoma Indian Territory in the late 1890 s. There where still bank and train robberies and old fashion shootouts. People in the bigger cities like Oklahoma City looked forward to the turn of the Century but folks in rural areas still contended with outlaws and indians. The Dunn family, four boys and a girl, lived on a small ranch near Ingalls, Oklahoma where they barely got by. Two of the boys took the outlaw road and hooked up with Bill Doolin after the Dalton gang got wiped out in Coffeyville, Kansas in 1892. The Doolins and Daltons where known to hang out in the saloon in Ingalls and go to the Dunn ranch for visits. One of the gang members was a dashing young man named George Bitter Creek Newcomb. He came from good parentage but at some point thought it was way better and more exciting to be an outlaw. This is where the Dunn girl enters. On one of the Gang s visits to the Dunn ranch Bitter Creek spots the young girl. She was at best 15 years old. In those days that was a marryin age. You know what the Beverly Hillbilly s Granny says, If you ain t married by 18 you re and Old Maid. Well Bitter Creek, eleven years her senior, and the young girl hit it off. The girl s name was Rose and Bitter Creek started calling her The Rose of the Cimarron for the river that ran just south of Ingalls. Not only did Bitter Creek fall for her but the whole gang worshipped Rose because of her good looks and calm and kind demeanor. She sometimes went to town for supplies when the heat was on. In 1893, the gang got cornered in the Ingalls saloon by US Marshals. A huge shoot out followed and during the event George Bitter Creek Newcomb was wounded. Rose was in the hotel when the shooting started. When she saw her man lying in the street she did what any fifteen year old would do, grabbed two belts of ammunition, a Winchester and headed to be by his side. While Bitter Creek loaded his Colt, Rose fired at the US Marshals with her Winchester. Her brothers where good teachers because some witnesses said she hit her mark and maybe killed three deputies. Then she helped Bitter Creek and Charley Pierce, both wounded, to escape. The law placed a $ 5,000 bounty on Newcomb s and Pierce s heads. Rose s brothers now turned bounty hunters wanted the dough so the Dunn brothers killed the pair. They claimed is was a fair gun fight but the condition of the bodies told a different story. Rose never was charged or prosecuted for her actions. She was married twice. Once to a politician and after his death to a business man. Both men claimed Rose was just a friend to the outlaws but had never been romantically involved. Ya right! Rose died in 1955 and was buried in Washington State. Gunslinger s Gazette.45 SideKicks Host the First Snow Bird Shootout in Lady Lake, Florida By Island L ady Lake, Florida - The smoke is clearing, and the dust is settling. The first Snow Bird Shoot Out is DONE! The Cowboy Fast Draw Club,.45 SideKicks in Lady Lake FL, who are part of the God an Guns ministry at the First Baptist Church, hosted a bunch of cowboys and cowgirls on January 11th and 12th. God blessed the competition not only with a great location to shoot at but shirtsleeve weather with little wind. A true gift for those competitors who visited from South Dakota; Swootz, M.T. Gun, Windy Winchester and Captain Kaufman. The South Dakota crew was ramrodded by Wine O Rita, who commanded from the scoring table. They not only shot well but played an integral part in conducting the shoot. From score keeping to range mastering, they truly exhibited the cowboy way. The rest of the participants were from the greater Florida area. Ranging from the north with Von Zipper, to Yusta B. Fast in the south. Coming from the middle was Gun Smoke who not only shot well but stepped up Spring 2019 and did a lot of range mastering. In fact, all hands helped a lot during the competition to make it sure it ran smooth. All the participants had an experience of shooting in front of a consistent stream of spectators as the crowd held at a stead 10-15 people who came to watch. Over 100 brochures, newsletters and club information cards were given out during the two days. These spectators not only saw some great shooting but also spoke with the competitors and gained information about the sport. The crowd obviously did not detract Two Buck Chuck as he was first on day one. And came in second on day two after winning a shoot off with Yusta B. Fast. First and Second places on each day were awarded miniature cowboy hats with various amounts of dollar coins. Third thru seventh place shooters were awarded certificates. After completing the first day, all shooters and significant others went to the Amerikano s Café in Spanish Springs square of Lady Lake Fl. Where they enjoyed a Greek meal. After the meal, while enjoying a local band, there were various beverages available for those who wanted to fortify themselves for the next day. Thank you to everyone who came. The 45. When he developed the original Gunslinger Laser Target as an accessory to his Gunslinger Timing Systems, it worked well, but he still pursued improvements. The Gunslinger Laser Target II-B, greatly reduces the likelyhood that even a low cost continuous beam red-dot laser can not be swept onto the target, to record a time. It usually takes the initial pulse to score a hit, especially when using the G-Sight Laser Cartridge, which is now a stock item in the CFDA General Store, at a very affordable price. This allows the shooter to know if they are actually hitting the target. The Gunslinger Laser Target II-B, still has a CFDA/Surestrike Laser Setting that will only record a hit for that frequency. The possibility for Official CFDA Laser Matches is here! See Our Full Line of Gunslinger Timing Systems (Download the Information & Price List) at The CFDA General Store. Payment, Shipping & Transfer Information (We Only Ship To FFL Dealers) Cowboy Fast Draw Association holds a Federal Firearms License (FFL). We only ship (usually USPS) and transfer firearms to other FFL Dealers, which costs $30 per gun. It is up to the purchaser to choose their FFL Dealer and instruct them to FAX (775) 575-5748) or email (info@cowboyfastdraw.com) a copy of their FFL to us. After receiving payment we will then ship the firearm to your FFL Dealer, who will then be responsible to have you fill out the appropriate forms and conduct a background check, according to Federal and your State Laws and Regulations. The buyer is responsible to pay all transfer fees, background checks directly to their FFL Dealer of choice. All Firearm Sales Are Final. In the unlikely event that your FFL Dealer cannot process your transfer paperwork due to a background check that did not pass. The buyer may contact our office and request a return of the firearm and a refund of the sale. The gun must be returned to CFDA only by the FFL Dealer that it was originally sent to, in the original condition. A refund of the sale will be made, minus the original $30 shipping fee and a 10% re-login/restocking fee.
