REGION REPORTS Region 2 Report: 1. All teams have been formed for the fall season. We are placing the last drops from our waitlist this weekend. 2. We have closed registration for all divisions with the exceptions of VIP and Schoolyard. 3. The region held our referee refresher course last weekend and had over 80 regional referees attended. The purpose was to go over the new rules in the 8, 10 and 12 divisions. 4. First games for all divisions will begin the weekend after Labor Day. 5. We are looking for a good site in which to make coach id cards. BS can make cards but these cards do not include ayso id# and coach certifications. Region 13 Report Our first games of the season will be on Saturday Sept 9 All teams formed; wait lists in almost all divisions. Uniforms and equipment have arrived and will be distributed soon. We've got all of our coaches lined up for all teams; but working hard to close a gap in referees. Classes have been running for the past few weeks in all categories, and will continue. Gearing up for Area play in Upper Division (practices began last week). Get ready for Game Day! Area 1C Meeting Minutes - 08-31-17 - AP.docx Page 3 of 7

Region 88 report: We started games in most divisions 8/19. Everything else starts 9/9. We re at 3,162 players with 25 on the waiting list (mostly BU8 and BU10). All head coaches fully certified, except for two, one of them because of a concussion training issue with BSB. 69 players will be participating in U4. Wilson Middle School turf field is almost a certainty. The Complex Field 1 is also getting a turf field, possibly this fall. Both of the above are 12U. We re offering a Safe Haven clinic this coming Friday, for those of you who are interested in sending your folks to it. Region 98 Report Photo day was last week. We're having a Region 98 night at this Saturday's LA Galaxy game. Teams were formed the first week of August and they've been practicing since the 1st. This past week, we had a division lose some players, which has thrown the player count, per team, off. We are hoping we can replace them quickly. Our schedule was released three days ago. Registration has crept up to over 700, which was pleasing as we were around 600 in July. We are less than 100 from last year. We did lose a lot of known players, within our region, to club teams this year. The season begins September 6 and all teams will have played their first game by the 9th. We are still open for VIP and Playground registrations. Playground begins September 16. Our referee meeting had a strong attendance to discuss the PDI changes. The recent info from Scott helped answer a lot of questions. We're continuing to get more refs take their Intermediate class with the intent of steering them towards Advanced in the years to come. The September 6 game scheduled will be a 10U friendly and will likely have a lot of attention to actually see these new rules and new field and goal sizes in action. All other 10U teams will play a friendly on Sept. 9. Our new goals are arriving next week. I reached out to Ana, from that Inland Empire region that was valdalised, about donating our goals and she said the police were able to catch the thieves and return their goals.
