No-Gi Rules Dress Code: All competitors must wear a shirt (a T-shirt or compression is recommended) Drawstring shorts or tight shorts that will not come loose Ear Protection is allowed Wrestling shoes or any kind of shoes are prohibited on the mats Mouthpiece is required Groin protection is required Adults - Scoring System: UGA points are designed specifically to make the matches as competitive as possible with ensuring the safety of all competitors. Scoring as follows: Positions must be secured for three seconds in order to receive points 2 points for takedowns ending in 3 seconds either in guard or dominant control 1 point for submission attempts (must be locked in without submission) 2 points for sweeps 2 points knee on belly position 2 points for guard passes (competitor must completely pass and hold dominant position for 3 seconds) 2 points for mount or back mount (hooks in only. Feet crossed and body triangle does not award points). If the score is even at the end of a match, it is at the discretion of the UGA referee to declare a winner. If the UGA referee decides no winner can be decided, an additional overtime 1-minute round may be required.
