The abovementioned meeting has been authorised by MANT which has issued the Motorcycling Australia Permit Number 2017/09 and is open to holders of current Motorcycling Australia Current Senior MA licences or one event licences. 2.2. The meeting will be held in accordance with the current General Competition Rules (GCR s), these Supplementary Regulations, and any final instructions approved by MANT. BY ENTERING THIS MEETING ALL PARTIES AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES, REGULATIONS, BY-LAWS AND INSTRUCTIONS. 3 ENTRIES: 3.1. Entries open forthwith and close 8.30am Saturday the 26 th August 2017. Please fill in this entry form and email to secretary@darwinmotorcycleclub.org or bring it with you to nomination/sign on. Those who prenominate by emailing by Close of Business Tuesday 22 nd August 2017 will receive a discount and will have preference in the starting positions draw. Starting positions will be drawn out of a hat on Thursday night 24 th August 2017. Experts will start first. All riders start at one minute intervals, two at a time. 3.2. In the case of postponement or abandonment of the meeting, all or any part of the entry fee may be retained by the Club/Promoter, if such retention is approved by MANT. 3.3. Only entries received on the official entry form that is accompanied by the correct fee will be accepted. 3.4. All entrants between 16 and 18 years of age must be signed in by their parent / guardian. Temporary guardian must be over 18 years of age and must have authority of parent/guardian with a completed DEED OF APPOINTMENT OF TEMPORARY GUARDIAN form. These forms are available from the Race Secretary or on MANT website at http://www.mant.org.au/language/en-au/forms Riders must be 16 years and older. 3.5. NOTE:- LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED UP TO 8.30AM ON RACE DAY, BUT NOMINATION WILL BE $100 AND THE RIDER WILL START AT REAR OF FIELD 4 INSURANCE: 4.1. National Personal Accident Scheme provides basic cover for death and permanent disability. 4.2. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT COMPETITORS GIVE CONSIDERATION TO TAKING OUT WEEKLY BENEFITS INSURANCE. 5 MEDICAL SERVICES: Senior St John Ambulance volunteers will be in attendance. A helicopter is planned for the event to assist St John if requested, the cost for rider or bike recovery to be paid by the competitor. 6 ENTRY FEE: 6.1. $100.00 for entire Enduro, or $80.00 for those who prenominate by COB Tuesday 22 nd August 2017. 6.2. If you are not a DMCC member and don t have a MA licence it will also cost you: $75.00 for MANT 1 event race licence and/or $25.00 for One Event DMCC membership 6.3. 7 CLASSES OF COMPETITION Enduro Open Terrain Senior bike Classes: Expert & Clubman (plus Clubman Team Class) If you nominate in the wrong class for your riding ability, the organisers reserve the right to move you to the class they deem fits your ability. Remember points towards the Mr Enduro is only for those who race in Expert class. The Clubman Team class will start together and finishing time will be that registered by the last team rider crossing the finish line. If one doesn t finish, the team will be registered as did not finish. BOTH MUST HAVE SAME NUMBER 8 AWARDS 8.1. Trophies will be awarded for: 1 st to 5 th Expert and Clubman. Veteran 1 st place only 8.2. Trophies will be presented at DMCC Presentation night on 18 th November 2017. 8.3 Double point score will contribute to Mr Enduro (Expert only) and Club Champion awarded at the end of year Presentation only if you are a full financial DMCC member. 29th April 2017 is the cut off date for membership renewal. 9 ENTRIES TO CONSTITUTE A CLASS: 9.1. To constitute a class, the number of contestants entered and competing in each class shall be shall be at the discretion of the organisers. 9.2. Should there be insufficient entries in any class of competition, the decision to run or cancel the class, to move a rider into a different class or to combine events and re-distribute any awards and, will be at the discretion of the club/promoter, subject to MANT approval. 10 TIMETABLE: PRENOMINATIONS OPEN UNTIL CLOSE OF BUSINESS TUESDAY 22 ND AUGUST 2017 (REFER 6. ENTRY FEE) NOMINATIONS, SIGN-ON and Machine Examination Saturday 26 th August 2017 7.30am to 8.30am SIGN-ON Sunday 27 th August 2017 8.30am to 9.00am You must also sign on again on Sunday so we know you are there. Mandatory riders briefing at 9.40am on Saturday, 9.15am on Sunday. Start will be pairs at 1 minute intervals at 10.01am on Saturday and 9.31am on Sunday. You may work on your bike after the event on Saturday. If you are camping and change your oil you must put the old oil in a container and take it back home. You must have an Enviro-Mat for the work and fuelling area. Variation of the times will be at the discretion of the Clerk Of Course and Steward and are subject to change without notice. ALL competitors MUST attend riders briefing, which will include final instructions. For the purposes of drug and alcohol testing, the commencement of the meeting will be deemed to be at the start of machine examination with the completion of the meeting for the participant being when the participant has completed the event. 11 CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION AND RACING FORMAT: 11.1. The track will be a natural terrain enduro, with a mix of tight single line and open tracks. Details of the track will be available closer to the event with full details at Riders briefing. Track will be marked with fluro tape. And any junctions will be continuously taped with signs. Red/White Chevron (Danger) tape will be used to tape off tracks not to be used. There may or may not be an official at track junctions, but they will be signposted. It is up to you to take the correct turn if there is nobody there. Think about this, because if you come in to the finish of that loop from the wrong direction, your race is over. Changes of direction will be marked with a Red arrow before the turn (where possible) Danger spots will be marked with a Red X before the Danger (where possible) An R means road crossing and riders to use caution when crossing roads. Last minute instructions/changes will be advised at riders briefing. 11.2. Starting will be with a green flag 1 minute apart at the discretion of the starter. 11.3. There will be 2 checkpoints recording bike numbers only, for safety reasons. 11.4. No overtaking allowed past the scoring area. 11.5. All riders must go past the chequered flag from the direction of racing to complete the event. 11.6. There will be a remote fuel stop at one of the checkpoints for riders who cannot make 80km on a single tank. Riders must supply their own fuel (enough volume for both days). The club will transport fuel to the check point and return it to the pits after the end of racing on Sunday. The rider is responsible for fuelling their own bike. 11.7. FUEL to be in an approved container clearly marked with rider name and number. Refuelling to take place in designated area only. 11.8. Enviro mats will be supplied and must be used. 12 MACHINES AND RIDERS: 12.1. All machines entered must comply with the current GCR s (GCR 14) for Enduro competition. 12.2 Multiple entry of the one machine in the competition is not permitted. 12.3 Only one machine allowed by each rider and the same machine must be used for both days of competition. 12.4. All riders must have a camel back or an equivalent hydrating system and trail snacks plus banana muffins for officials. GPS devices are not allowed and a tool kit is a must. 12.5 Minimum riding apparel as per GCR Appendix A - Approved helmet, moto-x boots, strong padded long pants, long sleeved Jersey, goggles and gloves. No Tear offs allowed. No work boots. 13 RIDING NUMBERS: 13.1. All bike riders must stop at all checkpoints to ensure their number is recorded. The start/finish area is also a checkpoint. 13.2. All riders must report to scoring desk and Clerk of Course if retiring from the race.
14 DRUG AND OR ALCOHOL TESTING: 14.1. All competitors and officials are advised that as part of the MA drug education program, drug testing may take place at any competition in accordance with Australian Sports Commission policy as implemented by the Australian Sports Drug Agency. 14.2. If any doubts exist over banned substances it is recommended competitors contact the Drugs in Sport Hotline, tel 1800 020 506. When drug testing takes place, the payment of any prize money may be delayed at the MANT discretion until the results of the tests are known. 15 CODE OF CONDUCT: All competitors, officials and parents are reminded of the Motorcycling Australia by-law - CODE OF CONDUCT (as stipulated in the GCR s), which is a guide to appropriate behaviour at all motorcycle race meetings. This CODE OF CONDUCT applies to this Meeting and will be enforced. 16 SCORING : Bikes will be timed from start to finish with points from both days collated to obtain final result. Final scoring instructions will be given at riders briefing. 17 MERCY RULE & PENALTIES: 17.1 Consideration will be given to any rider that helps an injured rider. 17.2. All riders must keep as close to track markers as possible, if you are out of sight of the tapes you are deemed to be off course and will be penalised. If there is any continuous taping you must stay within the confines of the tapes. 17.3 All refuelling must be done with the engine off using Enviro Mat. 17.4 Riders could be disqualified/penalised for: Riding in reverse direction on the course Approaching a checkpoint or finish area from wrong direction Course cutting Not obeying an officials directions Un-sportsman like manner Being over 1 hour late overall per day Practicing on the course beforehand Not being counted as going through a checkpoint 17.5 Penalties will be at the discretion of Race organisers or Clerk of course. 18 GST: The Goods and Services Tax affects the payment of prize money. If you do not provide an ABN or declare the sport is a hobby, the Promoter must withhold 48.5% of prize money over $75.00 which is otherwise payable to you. Please tick one of the boxes on the entry form and if appropriate provide your ABN to ensure the full amount of prize money is paid to you. 19 SPECIAL NOTES AND WARNINGS: Slower riders and all marshals are to give way to faster riders when deemed safe Ride to survive, be smart. Remember that it s 2 days! Take trail snacks for energy. Remember: pink tape. If you come onto another colour or old tapes.turn BACK!...carefully. Look for oncoming riders that may be lost as well. Red/White Chevron (Danger) tape will be used to tape off tracks not to be used. If you go through it and pull it down please replace it. Any forms of advertising in the vicinity of the track (apart from on the normal 3m x 3m shade tent) must be approved by the organisers beforehand. If bikes cannot be ridden back to the start/finish area, riders should coordinate with club officials to recover their bikes. The club will make all reasonable efforts within its means to recover bikes, however the club is not liable for costs or damage associated with recovery by the club or otherwise. Riders are strongly encouraged to utilise the optional fuel stop. Riders with machines which have run out of fuel will be least priority for recovery over injured riders and the safe execution of the race.
