Location: Parking: Facility: Timing: Rules: Eligibility: Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center 5310 E 136 th Ave Thornton, CO 80602 In the event that the parking lot at the VMAC fills, there is additional parking across the street at Horizon High School. Indoor 25-yard 10-lane pool. The meet will either be run in heats of 8-lanes or 10-lanes dependent upon number of entries received. The water depth of the competition pool is a consistent 7 feet. Additional warm-up and warm-down lanes will be available. The competitions course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C (4) Colorado Timing System with touch pads, plus timing buttons for 25 s. While the host team will provide the bulk of the timers, participating teams may be asked to provide timers. Timer assignments will be posted on teamcudas.com and/or e-mailed out on or before Monday, November 14. Current USA Swimming and CSI Rules will govern the procedures of the meet. Age as of the first day of the meet will determine the age group. Meet is pre-seeded, timed finals. For the Saturday 8 & under and 9-10 sessions, all swimmers must report to the heating area prior to each swim in order to be heated for those swims. Open to all swimmers holding a 2016/17 USA Swimming membership card. Swimmers that appear on the CSI exception report for lack of registration must come to the meet prepared to show their card or they will be deck registered before they can enter the water. Swimmers within the 120 day transfer period must swim unattached. Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimmer member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer's legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.
Fees: Deadline: $33 non-refundable fee, which includes a $9.00 pool surcharge and a $.75 per splash mandatory contribution to the CSI Support Fund. Deck registrations will be accepted based on availability of lanes, and will carry a $35.00 charge per swimmer. All deck entries from swimmers not already entered in the meet must present proof of current registration. Entries must be in the inbox of the entry chairperson by 6:00 pm Tuesday, November 8. It is the coaches responsibility to alert the meet director of any errors by Wednesday, November 16 by 6pm. Failure to do so may result in the swimmer in question swimming in available lanes. Entries: Preferred entry method via email, lseckinger@aol.com, Entries will be accepted in the order they are received. Time stamp on the e-mail will determine order they are received. CUDA reserves the right to limit the meet to stay within the four (4) hour rule for 12 & Under athletes. The Meet Referee reserves the right to insert breaks during the competition in any session where it is deemed not to have sufficient rest for the athletes. Coaches/Officials: All coaches and uniformed officials must display their USA-S/CSI cards when on deck. Current certification is mandatory. Coaches that are in non-compliance will not be allowed on deck. A coaches meeting will be held 15 minutes prior to the start of warm-up on the Saturday AM session. Programs: Programs will be available for $5.00. Scoring: Cumulative time for all five (5) events will used to determine finish order. All ties will be broken using points (20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1) and other criteria as dictated by the meet ref, if necessary.
Awards: Individual Trophies for the top 16 swimmers in each gender and age group. Swimmers must compete in all 5 events to qualify for an award. If a swimmer disqualifies, he/she will be assessed a time penalty as follows: 3 seconds for 25-yard event 4 seconds for 50-yard event 8 seconds for 100-yard event 12 seconds for 200-yard event If the disqualification is determined by the Meet Referee to be intentional, the swimmer will be given the slowest time swum in that event. All disqualified swims will be reported to CSI as disqualifications, not as legal swims with the adjusted times. A coach or team representative must pick up all awards in the meet office prior to leaving the pool on the final day of competition. Results: Final results will be emailed to participating teams as soon as the database has been re-adjusted for all disqualifications. Concessions: Full concessions will be available Warm-ups: Additional Rules: Each meet session will contain only one warm-up time slot. Teamcudas.com will list the official warm-up start time and the host team reserves the right to assign team lanes for warm-up. Official start time and assignments will be posted by Monday, November 14. Coaches will be responsible for monitoring their swimmers during the warm-up period. Starts may only be practiced with one way swimming. Following all CSI Warm-up Procedures is mandatory. -Current USA rules will govern the procedure of the meet. -The meet referee will be the final meet authority. The meet will be preseeded, and all events are timed finals. -Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, or locker rooms. -No on deck photography from behind the starting platforms -Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is prohibited. Deck Changing is strictly prohibited. Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present. Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center is a NO SMOKING facility.
