PURPOSE OF PROJECT 1. Develop an appreciation of horseback riding as a healthy and wholesome form of recreation. 2. Learn horsemanship and an understanding of the business of breeding, raising and training horses. 3. Increase knowledge of safety precautions to prevent injury to themselves, others, and their mounts. 4. Promote greater love for animals and humane attitude toward them. 5. To be better prepared for citizenship responsibilities through working in groups and supporting community horse projects and activities. PROJECT COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS NOTE: Members are encouraged to attend the 4-H Horse & Pony Club meetings, workshops, and special activities. A.
