AUGUST 2018 Gold Star Award Record Book Results Morgan Knox was awarded Gold Star this summer. Morgan received a $500 scholarship from Kinney 4H. Morgan also reached the County Points level of Diamond! Best of Luck at College! Record books were completed at the County level for District 10 contest by Morgan Knox- Rabbits, Logan Knox-Sheep, Lucinda ManchaFood & Nutrition, and Guillermo Mancha-Shooting Sports. Contest results: Morgan Knox STATE HORSE SHOW IN HELOTES The State 4-H Horse Show was held July 21-22 in Abilene, Texas at the Taylor County Expo Center. Kinney 4-H's Miranda Schott, who graduated this year, took Grand Champion in the Timed Events, Reserve Champion for Barrell Racing, Reserve Champion in the Stakes Race, and 3rd in Pole Bending. Miranda's proud father, Randy Schott, is in the picture with Miranda and her horse, Martini. Projects that will start soon are Food & Nutrition, Stock show projects, and Community Service. Make sure and fill out the survey about projects you received in your email, stay informed! Back to School 4-H Swim Party 4-H'ers enjoyed some fun in the sun at the Pizza/Swim party this past Saturday. Everyone brought good stuff to share and eat. Wendy showed the swimmers some games and gave prizes. Thanks Rachel, Amy, Wendy, & Irma!

OFFICER CORNER Officer Expectations * Officers are expected to attend all 4-H meetings, events, fundraisers, activities, etc. * Giovanni Rodriguez--President will prepare the agenda with the Extension Office and club manager, Rachel Mancha. * Lucinda Mancha--Reporter is expected to take pictures of 4-H happenings and submit all 4-H newspaper articles through the Extension office. * Caydie Castro--Secretary is expected to keep attendance, prepare the minutes for every meeting, keep a record of them, and turn in a copy to the office. *Open Office--Treasurer is expected to meet with the 4-H book keeper and prepare the treasurer's report for the monthly meetings. *Wynona Goines--Sr. Council Delegate and Will Lewis--Jr. Council Delegate are expected to attend District 10 4-H Conference and bring back what they learned to their 4-H Club.
