Back-to-back we stand with each other. Why?...Because we trust each other. Our Sisterhood is strong. Overcoming struggles is a rite of passage in OUR WORLD. We came to Kansas as individuals but we are ONE. This is so much bigger than any one person. You choose Kansas because you are a BUILDER. Builders are DIFFERENCE MAKERS. Difference makers are WINNERS. We expect a lot. We expect a lot from each other. Kansas Jayhawks know one way to play HARD. We will not settle. Nothing worth having ever comes easy. We play to be the best. If you don t win why do you play? Walk into Allen Fieldhouse and you will be reminded that this is basketball s birthplace. The place is sacred, and sacred ground should never be disrespected. We stand back to back on James Naismith Court relying on each other Believing in each and every one of us. THIS IS OUR STORY Experience it NOW!

My dad once told me the story about how he used a basketball to get me moving around in my mother s stomach. When my mom was pregnant, her doctor told her that I wasn t active enough and that drinking orange juice would help. Well, it didn t help enough. My dad decided to take matters into his own hands and did what most guys do in pressure situations... think about sports. My dad left the room and headed to the children s play room in the hospital in search of something--anything he could find to get me to move around and react. He returned with a soccer ball, tossed it around and held it close to my mother s stomach. Nothing. As my mom s patience was quickly running out, the doctor told them that early delivery may be necessary unless I showed some signs of activity. My dad left the room again and returned with a large leather basketball. He held the ball up and grinned from ear to ear. Basketball was his first love and he was sure that this would do the trick. To my mom s surprise, I began to move around. Now I ask myself, conspiracy or coincidence? Regardless, I can honestly say that my love and passion for the game began at birth and I was born to hoop. My name is SADE MORRIS and this is my story.
