2 Family Activities 4-H Night out with the Utah Jazz Families of 4-H members April 1 Game starts at 7 pm Purchase tickets online before March 31 Tickets are $22 to $86 Utah Lake State Park 4400 West Center Street, Provo The Utah State 4-H Ambassadors have partnered with the Utah Jazz to host a 4-H Night. All tickets purchased through this link will come with an early VIP entrance pass to enter the game before the general public and watch the Jazz warm up from the first few rows of the court! Plus, a portion of each ticket will come back to the 4-H Ambassador Program. Center St. Suite L400 in Provo All youth grades 7-12 are invited to join us for our Utah County 4-H Teen Council and Junior Ambassadors! We would love every youth in Utah county to come. Bring a friend and come learn leadership skills, plan activities, build friendships, and have fun! Each meeting is worth 1 4-H Achievement Point. ***We also hold a youth club at the same time for younger siblings of those on Teen Council. This way, parents are welcome to bring all of your kids. Demonstrations: Demonstrate on any subject you are interested in, such as Ag, Home Economics, Food, Horse, STEM, Health Living, etc. You may work individually or as a team of two. Talent Contest (fill out this form, print and bring it with you): We would love to see dance, piano, instruments, vocal and variety talents. You may compete as an individual, or a team of up to four members. You will be judged on things like showmanship, appearance, and your talent itself. Cosplay: Create a costume based on any fictional character and present why you picked that character. You will be judged on things like creativity, construction of costume, and your presentation. Prepared Video Production: Create a video for this contest! You will be judged on things like your story board, the video itself, and your presentation. Sewing Contests: Sew any type of project-like a quilt, baby dress or handbag. Then, display the item and present about your project. You will be judged on your construction, presentation, and interview about the item. Fashion Revue (fill out this form to bring with you and watch this video about it): Come prepared in an outfit to model for the judges. The outfit/garment can be constructed, modified or purchased. When you compete, you will need to do an oral presentation and be able to answer questions from the judges. Easter/Spring Cupcake Camp Grades K-12 - Cost $5 At the 4-H Office 100 E. Center St. Suite L700, Provo March 22 from 4 to 5 pm Register online at: http://ut.4honline.com Come decorate cupcakes in super fun styles! The cost is $5 per person and you will be able to make 10 different cupcakes. Please, bring a container to take your cupcakes home with you. Youth below 3rd grade must have an adult present to assist them. In August, youth can make cupcakes like these and enter them in the Utah County fair! Worth 1 4-H Achievement Point. Each spring and fall, Tractor Supply helps raise money for 4-H programs through the sale of Paper Clovers in their stores. These funds support scholarships for camp and all kinds of leadership activities. Visit your local Tractor Supply Store to purchase a Paper Clover. Landscape Architecture Design Contest Grades 9-12 Submission deadline is March 29 Direct competition related questions to extension.laep@agggies.usu.edu Youth can compete in a Landscape Architecture Design competition. This is a great way for high school students in plant science, maker and leadership project areas to explore a topic that can lead to higher education and a career. The Re-imagine your park design competition invites students to bring their insight, knowledge and creativity together to assess and re-imagine a park in your own community. Re-design your selected park into a vibrant, exciting, well designed public space. Click here for more info. Livestock Tagging Days and Livestock Shows Grades 3-12 Livestock Tagging Days are critical for youth wishing to participate in the Junior Livestock Shows. This year if you would like to participate, you MUST attend a livestock tagging. Please, do not ask the agent to come to you. Steers must be tagged at least 100 days prior to the show you are wishing to attend. Sheep and hogs must be tagged at least 60 days prior to the show. Due to new policies, all tags must be paid for PRIOR to tagging the animal. This must be done online at: http://ut.4honline.com. Registration must be complete online prior to attending. You may compete as an individual contestant or a team of two. Higher points will be given to meals that are high in vitamins, minerals and fiber.
