February 26, 2018 Dear Parents of Lake Forest Dance Academy Preschool dancers, We are excited to invite you to the Lake Forest Dance Academy Preschool Recital 2018 Color My World! This recital is meant to be a stress free, FUN experience for all! We are very aware that anything and everything can happen when we put children this age on stage and we firmly believe every experience is important. Your child may stand there in her/his costume and wave to you; she/he may perform beautifully; she/he may see you and decide to go sit with you instead of dancing at all! All of these are positive ways to introduce your child to performing on stage. 1. There are 2 Shows: Show A and Show B. Attached is a list of each show. 2. Dress Rehearsal and Photo day is Saturday, April 21. Show A arrival time is 9:30am. Show B arrival time is 11:00am. Dancers will have their pictures taken first, then they will rehearse their dance and be dismissed to a parent immediately following their dance. 3. The Recital is Sunday, April 22. Show A performance is at 11:30 am and Show B is at 1:00pm. You are welcome to arrive at Gorton Community Center up to 30 minutes prior to show time. Please have your dancer backstage 20 minutes prior to their show time. Theater doors open 20 minutes before the show. 4. Location for rehearsals and recital is at The John and Nancy Hughes Theater at Gorton Community Center, 400 East Illinois Road Lake Forest. 5. The week of April 2-7, you will receive specific class recital day information from your child's teacher. This info will include information as to hair, accessories, tights, etc. 6. You can find all information, links and order forms for Pictures, DVD s, and Tickets on the following link to the Dance Academy Preschool Recital page of the city s web site: www.cityoflakeforest.com/parks-and-recreation/dance-academy/lfda-preschool-recital/ 7. If your dancer is in only one dance you are welcome to take them home after they are finished dancing. We will not release any child to anyone other than a parent without prior written permission. Arrival: Dancers will sit in the auditorium during the dress rehearsal so they can watch the other dances. Check the board in the auditorium lobby to see where your dancer is to sit. One parent may sit in the designated row with your dancer. Costume Info: All dancers should wear their costumes, hair in a bun, or as otherwise directed. Make up is optional; please use only blush high on cheekbones and soft pink lip gloss, if any. Photos: Photo order forms and payments must be turned in to the photographer at dress rehearsal. All dancers will have an Individual Photo taken as well as a Group Photo. Group and Individual Photo Order forms are available online and on-site. Dancers will be escorted to have their photos taken before they perform. They will then proceed backstage with their volunteer who will stay with them until they have completed their dance and returned to their seats. The other costume(s) should be given to the parent volunteer in charge of your dancer s first group at the time of check in.
