Swine Validation Friday, Nov. 16 Gala is Nov. 17 Tickets are $50 a couple Make sure you are a 4-H member! 4- H State 4-H Fee is $20. It will go up to $25 after October. Hunters Roundup takes place on Saturday, Nov. 3rd, from 6 to 9 pm at the Kinney County Civic Center. HR is thank you dinner, auction, raffle, and vendor opportunity to the many hunters that choose this county to hunt in. Proceeds from HR go to the Trapping Club and to Kinney 4-H. This event is Kinney 4-H's largest fundraiser of the year! All of our 4-H'ers and parents are needed! We can help serve, work in the kitchen, help with trash take out, take tickets, help set up and clean up. 4-H also provides dessert for the meal and we also use our baked goods for a bake sale booth. We need a committee member to attend the HR meetings that take place on Tuesdays at noon at Ziggy's BBQ. We need workers and baked goods: pies, cakes, cookies, brownies, etc. for the dinner and bake sale booth. Please plan to attend! It's fun work!

You can download your entry forms online at each major stock show site or come by the office and pick up forms after Nov. 1. You must be prepared to pay that night and have your new quality counts certification number. If you can't make it to the sign up night, you need to drop your payment and forms off sometime before Nov. 7 to the Extension Office. Decisions will need to be made for a lunch item for Friday and arrangements for breakfast tacos both mornings, in addition to the other things we will sell in the concession stand. All 4- H'ers and parent supervisors, even if you do not show animals, should work a shift. Shifts will run from 7am through 6pm Friday and Saturday.

OCTOBER 2018 page 8 OFFICER CORNER Officer Expectations * Officers are expected to attend all 4-H meetings, events, fundraisers, activities, etc. * Giovanni Rodriguez--President will prepare the agenda with the Extension Office and club manager, Rachel Mancha and run meetings. *Fawn Schott -- Vice President will help plan activities, and help recruit new members. * Lucinda Mancha--Reporter is expected to take pictures of 4-H happenings and submit all 4-H newspaper articles through the Extension office. * Caydie Castro--Secretary is expected to keep attendance, prepare the minutes for every meeting, keep a record of them, and turn in a copy to the office. *Whitney Coffman--Treasurer is expected to meet with the 4-H book keeper and prepare the treasurer's report for the monthly meetings. *Wynona Goines--Sr. Council Delegate and Will Lewis--Jr. Council Delegate are expected to attend District 10 4-H Conference and bring back what they learned to their 4-H Club.
