Tonight is a milestone night for a trio of Blues players. Eric Brewer will be dressing in his 700 th NHL game, Alex Steen his 00 th NHL game and David Backes his 00 th NHL/Blues game Tonight will be the Blues first game against an NHL team from north of the border and their th game against Ottawa all-time. Their previous meetings ties for the Blues second fewest against any NHL team Neither team has ever shutout the other...ott is the only NHL team that the Blues have yet to shutout in club history and one of four teams they have never beaten in overtime (ATL, NYR, WSH) The Sens are also one of seven teams the Blues have never faced in a shootout (BUF, CAR, FLA, NJD, PIT, TBL) Tonight will be the th of 7 back-to-back sets for the Blues and their last such couple against two Eastern Conference teams. Thus far, the Blues are - in the first game of back-to-backs and -0- in the second however, in their only other consecutive set against the East, they defeated both Boston (- SOW) and the NY Rangers (-0 W) Thought STL hasn t beaten them since 00-0, they did experience a period of success against OTT when they entered the league from 99 to 00, the Blues accrued a 0-6- mark vs. the Sens 009-0 Recap //0: STL, @ OTT, Blues History vs. OTT All-Time: 0-- at Home/on Road: -- / 6-6-0 Career Leader: Brad Boyes (8GP, 6-6-) All-Time OT: 0-0- at Home/on Road: 0-0- / 0-0-0 Last Time: Dec., 00 - T All- Time Shootout: 0-0 at Home/on Road: 0-0 / 0-0 Last Shootout: None BLUE NOTES At 6-0- ( pts), the Blues are one of two NHL teams that have yet to lose in regulation on home ice (VAN) they are also approaching their best 0-game home start in team history Best 0-game Home Starts 97-98 8-- (7 pts) 00-0 8-- (7 pts) 9-9 7-0- (7 pts) After a six-game stretch in which the Blues PP went 0 for, they have now tallied PPG s in three straight, their second longest streak of the season. The Note are for 8 overall during their current stretch and their 7.% conversion rate is fourth best in the NHL since Nov. and towers over the 6.% clip they accrued during their four-game PPG scoring streak to begin the season

STL s loss to Colorado last Monday was their second consecutive loss in regulation but just the first time they failed to gain points in consecutive outings in 6 games this season that was their longest stretch since 00-0 when it took 7 games for them to suffer back-to-back losses in regulation Carlo Colaiacovo returned from injury last Monday in Colorado and recorded his first multi-point game of the season. Recently, Colaiacovo has made a habit of coming back from injury in a productive manner. In 009-0, he was out of the lineup from Oct. 8 to Nov. only to comeback and record six points in his next seven games (--6), including two multi-point games. From Jan. to Jan. 0 he was again absent from the roster but upon his return he tallied eight points in his next games (0-8-8). Finally, Colaiacovo sat out a single affair on Apr. but jumped back into the lineup and finished the season scoring five points in the final five games of the year (--). Patrik Berglund and Andy McDonald are both currently riding four-game point streaks for each player it is their first such streak this season. For McDonald, his four-game stretch has included two three-point outings in his last three games. In a five day period from / to /7, McDonald's seven points (--7) tied with Carolina s, Eric Staal, for the most points in the league Since /, Both McDonald and Berglund have six assists...which tied for second most among all NHL skaters from // to /7 With his PPG last Monday at COL, Brad Boyes has now strung together his 7 th career multi-game scoring streak. His current three-game stretch is his first since Apr. to Oct. 6, 008.His PPG last Monday gave him two this season, equaling his total from last year and joined him with Matt D Agostini and Patrik Berglund as one of three Blues with multiple PPG s thus far With a 9-- record and 0 points in their first games, the Blues etched a new franchise mark for the best such start in club history...since the advent of the conference-based playoff format in 99-9, the only NHL team to start the season with 0 points in their first games AND miss the playoffs was the 000-0 Phoenix Coyotes (Elias) The Blues have scored two or fewer goals in nine games this season but they have only lost in regulation once in those games (-- ) every other team in the NHL has at least two regulation losses when scoring two or fewer goals in a game (Elias).
