The Oval hanging rods can be added under the following parts: Top (TO) Top Stretcher (TS) Adjustable Shelf (AS) Fixed Shelf (FS) Shelf (SH) NOTE: To use this package the grain direction of the part must be left to right. Part Attributes: The following attributes are added to the parts (to access them click on the part in an orthographic (smiley) view in the cabinet editor): Rod Oval? Shows Rod A and B attributes and sets Rod A to true. Rod Oval A? Turns on Rod A and shows following attributes:- o Rod Oval A Gap Sets the gap between the rod and the shelf/top (default is 41mm which allows for a center pillar to fit if required) o Rod Oval A In/Out Sets the In/Out position (default is center of shelf or top) o Rod Oval A Lh Allows the left position to be changed if required. o Rod Oval A Rh Allows the right position to be changed if required. Rod Oval B? Turns on Rod B and shows following attributes:- o Rod Oval B Gap Sets the gap between the rod and the shelf/top (default is 150mm) o Rod Oval B In/Out Sets the In/Out position (default is center of shelf or top) o Rod Oval B Lh Allows the left position to be changed if required. o Rod Oval B Rh Allows the right position to be changed if required. Example: Adding Rods under top of cabinet: Tick Rod Oval? on a Cabinet top. Hanging rod A is added under top with a 41mm gap: Rod A Tick Rod Oval B? on a Cabinet top. Hanging rod B is added under the top with a 150mm gap: Rod B Increase Rod Oval B Gap to move Rod B further down. Hanging rod B is moved down: Rod B Page 3 of 5
Adding a Rod under a shelf to one side of a supporting partition: Tick Rod Oval? on the shelf. Hanging rod A is added under the shelf with a 41mm gap: Initially it runs through the partition: Measure the distance from the right face of the left end to the right face of the partition. Enter this value as a negative number for the Rod Oval A Lh attribute. The left end of Hanging rod A is moved across to the RHS of the partition: Adding a Rod under a Top Rail: Tick Rod Oval? on the top rail. Hanging rod A is added under the top rail with a 41mm gap: Initially it is centered under the depth of the rail: To move it back toward the center of the cabinets depth, set the Rod Oval A In/Out attribute to a negative value as shown here in the side view: Page 4 of 5
Drilling Setup UCS Public Variables There are 3 Public Variables for the { RODS } -- Oval UCS. To change these variables go to the Utilities Edit User Created Standards from the Room Plan or Elevation views Then click on the { RODS } -- Oval UCS. On the top right hand side of the screen you will see the Public Variables list for the UCS. Public variables: Hole Depths = Depth of bracket holes in cabinet ends. Hole Diameters = Diameter of bracket holes in cabinet ends. Rod End Gap = Gap between rod and cabinet end to allow for bracket. (The cutting size for the rod will be less than the opening by double this value). If your system is set to mm, Edit the values in the Imp() brackets to the diameter and depths you require. If your system is set to inches, simply replace the whole imp() with the imperial measurement instead. Eg: Imp(3) might become 1/8 Note: To turn off any of the holes if not required, set the depth to zero. Once you have changed these values to your requirements, you can close the UCS editor. Tools Required The drill diameter you choose in the UCS Public Variables above is required for this package to work. You must have this tool diameter in your tool catalog and in your machine. Round Rods: We also have 18 & 25mm round rods with round or oval brackets. Check out our website for more information. Page 5 of 5
