Hello CAJC Tigers!!! I thought I would start my ROAR article with a note of congratulations to two of our own, Robert Acherman and Chris D'Autremont, with the announcement of their engagement while vacationing together in Paris!! Who said Tigers can't work together? These two represent the best of the best and I for one, am proud to call them both friends. Congratulations to you both!!! The Tiger Corps represents the "Best of the Best" in everything we do. Thank you to all those who participated at the last Board Meeting in August. That was a truly amazing evening. I was shocked to see fellow Ventura Jaycee Past Presidents and Tigers in attendance, notably, Ken Ferguson, John Clark, Bruce Dandy, Dave Carlson, George Thompson, Randy Davis and JoAnn Rundell. Thank you all for coming out to support the new Tiger Board! I think there was another purpose they were there for, as yours truly, TT #34 was utterly surprised and uttered a very short expletive deleted when presented with JCI Senatorship #69025. I was truly shocked and just now have come down from Cloud 9 where I have been residing. At this time, I would like to welcome to the California Pride, our newest Tigers and they are: Jennifer Baker from the Santa Monica Jaycees Desmond Carreras from the Salinas Jaycees Carolyn Smith JCI Senator and Region X Vice President from the Arizona Jaycees Laurie Ellsworth (Honorary) from the San Jose Jaycees I was extremely proud to swear in these individuals into the CAJC Tiger Corps and if you know of a Jaycee out there that has gone above and beyond and is deserving to be one of the Best of the Best, go to the CAJC Tiger Corps website and download the application. Remember, you have to be NOMINATED and SPONSORED by a TIGER in order to qualify to be accepted. Looking ahead to November 13-15, please remember that is the Auxiliary Weekend in Visalia where we will be hosting the Central California Future Officers Training Seminar (FOTS). Debbie Procedo, your Nasty Tiger and Jeanne Vanderhyde, your Divine Tiger, are working hard to put on a very productive two days for the future of the California Jaycees. Please come out and support their effort and if they have asked you to help train, please be available. Agendas and flyers will be coming out soon, so please be on the look out for them and get them to your local chapters. Please encourage ALL future officers to attend as this will be a VERY informative weekend. Last but not least, congratulations to our Tiger of the Quarter, Debbie Holbrook, from the Santa Clarita Valley Jaycees for running such an excellent training weekend. Congratulations to our very own Tiger Paw, Lynne Hansen for being the Tiger Officer of the quarter. Continued on Page 2

Smile Lynne!! In closing, thank you California Order of the Tigers for being such a great help during our Board Meetings and Conventions. Your expertise and judging abilities do help with the Individual Development programs the CAJC offer. Without your help, they would be hard pressed to find qualified people. Keep up the good work. See you in Visalia!!! VOLUME 34, ISSUE 2 PAGE 3 Nasty Tiger Letter Hello Tigers, Hope this finds you all doing well and that you had a great summer. We had a great time in Ventura in August and it was wonderful to surprise our own Terrible Tiger Brian Omatsu with his JCI Senatorship. We have been busy preparing for the November meeting in Visalia. We are planning the Future Officers Training (FOTS) for the Jaycees. We decided to hold one FOTS this year in a central location. Our plan is to have all of the Jaycees from California come together for great training and bonding weekend. Jeanne Vanderhyde is chairing this event and she will be reaching out to you to help train the Jaycees. We are also planning a great Scavenger Hunt for Saturday night and we thought it would be great if the Tigers put together a team to show the Jaycees that we still know how to have fun. Please contact me or Jeanne if you would like to help with the training or planning. Don t forget to let me know of any Chapters in your area that would like someone from our Training Task Force to go in and train. I look forward to seeing everyone in November. Take care. Debbie Procedo Nasty Tiger 2009-2010 nasty-tiger@californiatigers.org To catch the reader's attention, place an interesting sentence or quote from the story here. Note from Our Tiger Paw - Lynne Hansen Just a reminder to send me your photos of Tigers at work or at play. If you like send me an article note articles must not exceed 200 words. The deadlines for submitting photos or articles for the newsletters are: Friday, December 18, 2009 and Thursday, March 18, 2010. Send to tiger-paw@californiatigers.org CA JC Tigers, pick any item from our promotional partner company, and they'll add the CA Tiger logo at no extra cost. Most items have no required minimums, however, the more you buy, the more you save. Here's their link: http://stearnspromotions.com/exchange_default.asp?siteid=stear472&customerid=2155 As always, the baby tiger pins and the CA JC Tiger shirts are available here, on the CA tiger website. Per the TT, Tiger shirts to be worn at Tiger meetings, are the ones ordered through the Tight Tiger, not the partner company. Feel free to buy their shirts, too, but make sure you have ours...or pay a fine!
