RADIO CHATTER Flypaper invites your contributions. If you get a new aircraft, or do something of which you are proud, or have a... uh...uh... learning experience with a plane or heli, or anything good or noteworthy to share, let Jack Cutrone know and he will write it up in the next Flypaper. His email and phone number appear in the masthead at the top. Opening Day Cold. Windy. Not good for flying. A forerunner to the miserable Spring we have had. A few hardy souls showed up, but among the missing was Red Matson who was to have served as host for the event and bring coffee and donuts. (In case you were wondering about the subtitle to the cover picture.) Russ Scott flew, of course and Steve Yeaton ventured a flight or two but most people didn t even try or even bring planes for that matter, the weather being so bad. Terry Peterson, Wally Szempruch and Jack Cutrone did some much needed maintenance to the parking lot. Over the winter, when Jim Buchanan kindly plowed the parking lot for the January 1 st event, a lot of the gravel was pushed to ends of the parking lot which left a lot of bare muddy spots near the garage and the entrance to the picnic area. Terry, Wally and Jack got out the shovels and rakes and moved the piled gravel to cover the mud and help keep folks feet dry. Thanks guys. Russ Scott coming in for a landing The parking lot maintenance crew The tractor is fixed. After much, and I mean MUCH, blood, sweat and tears with more than a few cuss words thrown in, the tractor is finally repaired. Head mechanics were Glenn Learnahan, Gary Shakin and Eddie Ostrzeski with a lot of others helping including Steve Yeaton, Bill Brown, Wally Szempruch and Jack Cutrone. If we missed a few names, our apologies. The field has been rolled three times and regular mowing is in progress.

So, Jay, What do you think of not being Vice President any more? Wally Szempruch and Glen Learnahan Chef Gary Shakin and Sou Chef Wally Szempruch So whose silver locks are blowing in the wind?
Mike Taylor and Bill Brown Mike Taylor and Russ Scott readying Russ's jet for one of few flights made that day Two big shout outs to Steve Yeaton First, for volunteering to take over as Vice President and Safety Officer. And second, as most of you know there were some problems with arrangements for the last couple of club meetings and both had to be canceled. Steve contacted the Lake Villa Public Library and made arrangements for the club to hold meetings there starting in August. In the meantime, the meetings will continue to be held at the North Short Bank in Kensoha. The club made Model Aviation magazine. Jack Cutrone was contacted by MA columnist Jennifer Lea Reynolds about the club s winter indoor flying. The story appears in the June issue at page 88 complete with a picture of the Neuen family LCRCC members, l r Dan, Tim and Alex.
