Presidents Report Hi members, I think everyone is looking forward to warmer weather right now. So over the wet, the mud and the wind! Hope everyones horses are doing well. On the club front we held a very successful Gear Sale. The bigger venue was excellent but still proved to be too small so we are now on the hunt for a larger venue (suggestions welcome). I would like to point out for next year if you are booking a table, if you have a lot of stuff to sell get in early and book two tables, also if sharing check to see how much gear the other person has and if a lot suggest that they book their own table. Unfortunately we had to cancel the Horse section side of things. The first reason being due to promised horses not being booked in and 2 the weather turned really awful and on advice from the grounds the area around and in the horse yards was not safe due to mud and water. We will do some brain storming and maybe hold the horse side of it at a later date. Next on our agenda is our club annual Hi Point Dinner. We moved the date so that everyone had the opportunity to come along as it was clashing with another societies Annual Dinner that quite a few of our members would be attending. Our Annual Dinner is not just about receiving awards, of course it makes up a huge part of the evening but we also hold raffles and have lucky door and seat prizes as well as its just a great social night out to catch up with people that we sometimes don t get to see between shows. We the organising committee would really love to see a few people get along to the evening just to have a bit of fun and have a good social night out. This year we have a little Trivia section for everyone (Brush up on Looney tunes and Fairytales) and a bit of music to dance away to. On the home front I ve had a mixed bag. Unfortunately we lost a mare who was in foal to Sonny our bay and white little man. It was to be his first foal. We are not a hundred percent sure what happened but we do know the mare slipped the foal after a really severe storm, I bought her in from the paddock as she looked a bit depressed but didn t realise until much later she had lost her foal, we called the vet and within 6 hours we made the hard decision and put her to sleep. On the other side to arrive here very shortly is a lovely bay and white Paint mare called Dixie. She is in foal to a Palomino QH stallion, so crossing fingers that everything goes well there. Can t believe that my first foal arrives in only a handful of weeks, I hope the weather improves a bit for the first of everyones early arrivals and they all arrive safely. With all the frost and snow about please try and keep safe on the roads and I hope to catch up with a heap of you at the Dinner. All the best Melita PLEASE EVERYONE NOTE THAT MELITA HAS A NEW EMAIL ADDRESS HI POINT CARDS If you need Hi Point cards please contact our Show Co-ordinator Diane Johnston 6383 1639 or email r.d.johnston@bigpond.com. Cards are $2.50 each. FROM THE REGISTRAR You will find a futurity form at the back of this newsletter. If you wish to nominate your mare, you need to get it in ASAP. Due to this newsletter coming out a bit late I will accept mare nominations up till 10th August. Regards Lisa Dolbel

Amelia took her to Lilydale pony club camp for two days and learnt to trot by herself, then the next weekend rode her at the Lilydale Nav ride, and learnt how to canter for the first time. We cannot thank Jess and Mark Berwick enough for selling as such a beautiful horse.
