FLY FISHING NOTES Guided Fly fishing in Scotland will have its challenges, unpredictable weather and Midgies. We do advise that if coming to the Highlands of Scotland bring appropriate clothing and a Midgie net. EQUIPMENT We will supply all the equipment to include: Rods We have weights ranging from 4 weight to 12 weight Waders We cover all sizes (Breathable Waders Stocking Foot) Boots We supply all sizes Jackets All Wading Jackets with various Sizes to fit all. Flies We provide a wide and varied range of Flies to cover all aspects of fly fishing. Lines RIO lines to include Shooting Heads, Skagit and Spey Lines. Reels All Reels for either Salmon, Salt Water or Fresh Water species. Lifejackets Life Jackets will have to be worn in certain conditions such as wading etc. Transport We will arrange collection to and from your Hotel for all Fly fishing venues. This will be by 4X4 to enable us to get to those remote Hill Lochs and Salmon Beats. Food All food and beverages will be provided during your time with us. Roz my partner will prepare all Hampers or Hot meals either on location or in the morning if we are heading off into the Hills. All Food products are freshly prepared in the morning of your departure and will be supplied to you at lunch time either by your Guide or by Roz herself. Species Seasons Wild Brown trout 15 th March until the 30 th September Sea Trout 3 rd April until the 31 st October Atlantic Salmon 1 st February until the 31 st October Pike 1 st October until the 14 th March (Traditionalised Dates but can be caught all year round) Perch No Closed season (We recommend Summer Months) Grayling No Closed Season (We recommend Winter Months) Rainbow No Closed Season Salt Water No Closed season (We Recommend Summer early Winter months) Mobile Phones Due to the remoteness of the Highlands expect a limited signal, a phone signal may be possible from most mountain tops but we do have a facility available to our clients that will allow contact if required.
Accommodation Notes We do not deal directly with accommodation bookings but will be more than happy to forward some named Hotels and B&B s that our clients have expressed an excellent review off when Fly fishing with us. However we do not take any responsibility for these Hotels or B&B s but will endeavour to do our upmost for you. Directions to Inverness Inverness is accessible by Plane and Train. All North American and Southern Hemisphere flights can change at Amsterdam or London. Expect an Hour long flight from theses International arrival airports. Inverness is approximately up to 4 hours North of Edinburgh and Glasgow by Car, Take the A9 North and you will not get lost! An overnight Sleeper Train from London departs every evening at 20.30hrs arriving in Inverness at 08.30hrs Other Activities Wildlife Tours We delight in show casing Scotland to the full and offer days away in the remote wilderness of the Highlands showing off our amazing wildlife and Scenery to our Clients. Distillery Tours We have connections with some of Scotland s amazing Malt Whisky distilleries and can offer our Clients a special Managers Tour leaving with your very own personalized Bottle of Malt whisky that you can pour directly from the Cask yourself. You will have your very own personalized label and sign the leather book. Prince Charles was the first to sign this Great Leather bound Book.
