DEPART DAY 1 DAY 2-7 DAY 8-9 day by day Mountain time begins right away as you land in Jackson Hole. Surrounded by the towering granite peaks of the Tetons, you ll meet your team, and head out to your base camp in the Wind River Range to spend your first night together *Itineraries and order of activities are subject to vairiation Begin your backpacking expedition in the incredible Wind River Range. This stunning section of wilderness will be your home for the next 6 days and nights as you learn the art of high mountain living. Backpack through alpine meadows, camp next to crystal lakes and climb the passes and peaks of this pristine wilderness. Fish for your dinner in rivers filled with brown trout, and cook your meals as the sun sets. Sleep beneath the stars and get to know your team away from the civilized world. Head to Jackson to begin preparations for your summit bid of the Grand Teton. Exum Mountain Guides will teach you the basics of climbing and mountaineering, belaying, and multi-pitch climbing. After your orientation you ll get to get your hands on the granite. In teams you ll climb the classic monolith, Cube Point, and mentally prepare yourself for the summit bid ahead.
DAY 10 DAY 11 DAY 12-14 day by day 13,776 feet to go, and you ll begin today. Using the skills you learned with Exum Mountain guides, you ll climb the first section of your summit bid to the lower saddle at Garnet Canyon. Spend a few hours sleeping in a mountain hut and adjusting to altitude. Tomorrow morning is summit day! Rise before the sun and watch the world turn from The Grand s slopes as you push to the top with your team. Casting its shadow over the land below, The Grand s summit will come into view as you make a final push to stand upon it while the sun rises. After appreciating all you ve accomplished and catching your breath, you ll rappel down the granite slopes to the Exum Hut where you ll have the best, most hard-earned lunch of your life. Celebrate all your gravity defying work with a river run on the rapids of the stunning Snake River. No Teton adventure is complete without cruising this classic waterway. Continue your celebration with a final banquet in Jackson Hole and one last Moonup with your expedition family. Say goodbye to the towering Tetons, gazing back at The Grand as you fly out of Jackson Hole.
