Please check out your club's new information page and make sure all of the information is up to date. Here is the list of clubs: http://nmcarcouncil.net/clubs/. If any information needs correction, click the update link at the bottom of the club's information or send me an update here: http://nmcarcouncil.net/account/ Thanks! David c/o NM Car Council Don't forget to like us on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/nmcarcouncil There is also a link to post pictures of your club's events. Send in past events. The Car Council is now a current member of SEMA. Any club may join for free. It will keep members updated about proposed legislation that affects the car hobby nationwide. If you or your club want to sign up, go to www.semasan.com/san/join.aspx and do it. It costs nothing and should be informative. The editor will publish any pertinent information received. ************************************************************************************* ***** Minutes: February 22, 2012 Meeting Our President, Dennis Seibert, was unable to attend the meeting so our Vice President John Doran called the meeting to order at 7:35, PM and the following club representatives were present: Paul McLaughlin-Mustang Owners Club, ATHS-NM, Ron Rymarz-OCCA, Su Rymarz-OCCA, Pat Hall- CNM, Robert Gold-Corvairs of NM, Mike Stickler-Corvairs of NM, Don Briggs-Camaro Club, Raymond Continola-Rickshaws, Frank Chavez-Dukes CC, Albert Muniz-Dukes CC, Louis Paul- VMCCA, RRCC, Lisa BonDurant-Saabisti NM, David Pachak-Robie-Saabisti NM, Joyce Clements- OCCA, Gary Zimmerman-Mopar Club, Jim Clements-Early Ford V8, Bill Lemen-LCOC, Joe Ballengee-AMCC, Bob Agnew-CCCA, John Doran-RGMC. Our first guest speaker was Bob Lange, a producer for "Kar-Kix" (1550 AM-09:00 AM Saturdays) a radio program about cars and car people. He spoke about trying to get people on his program to talk about cars and car events. Our second guest speaker, Richard Figved, was unable to attend but he sent material on the items his company offers (awards, ribbons, buttons, and etc.) for Joyce Clements to distribute to members at the meeting. Treasurer's Report- Ron Rymarz reported that as of this date our checking account is in the black. Old Business: 501 (c) (3) Status Report- Lisa BonDurant reports no status change as of this date and that our application for a status change is still working its way through the IRS system. New Business:

Albuquerque Museum Show-Joyce Clements reports that members of the car show committee met with the museum staff on 2/22/12 and everything seems to be working as planned. We already have our dash plaques on hand and the show classes are pretty much the same as last year. The Classic Chevy Club will be in charge of setting up the "100th Anniversary Chevrolet" display. All vehicles are welcomed at this event but it was decided that this year the cut-off date for awards is 1987. Web Site- David Pachak-Robie spoke about the changes made to our web page. The Home Page is simpler to use now and more professional looking. There is an on-line form on the web site on how to place notices and officers have their own page now. We are also on Facebook now which should draw a younger group of car enthusiasts to our web site. Spring Thaw Open House- Bob Agnew's "Spring Thaw Open House" to raise funds for Cuidando Los Ninos will be held on April 21, 2012. This event offers people a great opportunity to have their cars checked over before the driving season. There will also be lots of good food to eat. If you would like to make an appointment for your old car or truck to be checked over call Bob at Worldwide Automotive at 881-2722. At this point the meeting was adjourned. Paul G. McLaughlin Secretary 2012 CAR COUNCIL EVENT DATES Albuquerque Museum Show May 20, 2012 Collector Car Appreciation Day July 13, 2012 All Clubs Picnic August 12, 2012 Annual Fall Swap Meet September 28-30, 2012 Pictures Needed for Web Site If you have any electronic pictures of Council Events, please contact David at info@nmcarcouncil.net to get them posted on the web site. The Council Officers are seeking a Host Club for the All Clubs Picnic, scheduled for August 12. The host club determines the location and venue; the Council picks up the expenses. If your club, or a group of clubs is interested in hosting the event, please contact Dennis Seibert at 873-4043 or Bob Agnew at 881-2722 during business hours. EVENT LISTING If you need more information on any events listed below, you can e-mail joyce@nmcarcouncil.net and I will e-mail the flyer to you if I have it. Due to the large number of events received, some flyers will not be mailed with this newsletter; they may be obtained by e-mailing me at the above address, or look for them on the web:. If you have events not listed here that you want listed, please send to same e-mail address. Thank you. 2012 EVENTS The 2012 Calendar is started. If you have major events scheduled for next year, send them to joyce@nmcarcouncil.net. Please note that the Calendar is now reformatted to emphasize Council, Car Council Club and New Mexico events.

NOTE: The Calendar is now divided into parts. This is the first step in reorganization and guidelines for the newsletter and web site. The division are: Car Council-Sponsored Events, Member Club-Sponsored Events, Other New Mexico Events, and Nearby Events. This is designed as an effort to emphasize our own events over others in the area. Your comments are welcome. Also note that the new e-mail for events is joyce@nmcarcouncil.net. This is another attempt to streamline the process of listing events. Thanks. Joyce CAR COUNCIL SPONSORED EVENTS MAY May 20 NMCCC/Albuquerque Museum Annual Car Show joyce@nmcarcouncil.net or www.nmcarcouncil.org Theme will be 100 Years of Chevrolet.
