CARNIVAL ENTRY INFORMATION Entries close on the SLSA Carnival Manager program on Monday 25 th January 2016 at 12.00pm (midday). No hand written or faxed entries will be accepted. All entries must be done via the SLSA Event Management Program. Interstate clubs will need to contact SLSA to arrange access to Qld carnival manager. For any further enquires please contact: SLSQ Sunshine Coast 07 54 14 1600 ssbranch@lifesaving.com.au Entry fees are as follows: $5.50 per person (capped @24.00 per person) ENTRY FEES All payments are to be paid on receipt of a tax invoice, as per normal business practice. This will be sent to all clubs after the completion of the Carnival. Cancellation Policy: If a carnival is cancelled with no postponement before the first event is conducted, 25% of entry fees will charged to clubs for administration costs. If a carnival is cancelled after the first event is conducted full entry fees will be charged. If a carnival is postponed and rescheduled to another date, 25% of entry fees will be charged to clubs that cannot compete at the rescheduled event. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS U14: All competitors are to be registered and financial members of a surf lifesaving club and hold relevant junior competition competency. U15: All competitors are to be registered and financial members of a surf lifesaving club and hold a proficient SRC. U17 Open: All competitors are to be registered and financial members of a surf lifesaving club and hold a Proficient Bronze Medallion. LATE ENTRIES Late Entries: Late entry fees will be applied from Monday 25 th January 2016 at 12.01pm. Late entry fees will be charged at $34.00 per person + the appropriate entry fee (as above). Clubs may submit late and additional entries from Monday 25 th January at 12.01pm to Wednesday 27th January 2106 at 10.00am through carnival manager. Any late entries after 10.01am on Wednesday 27 th January 2016 can be made with the admin marshall on the day of the carnival by the closing time set below. If a competitor is already entered in other events on the program and wishes to enter into another event on the day there will be no extra cost. These additional entries will still need to be submitted by the times listed below direct to the Marshall. For competitors not entered in the carnival, the team manager must provide proof of competency and a completed late entry slip with competitor s full name and age group and all details of all events wishing to be entered completed ready for handing to the marshall. Late entry slips can be found on the Branch website. All competitors must be current financial and proficient members of their Surf Life Saving Club All competitors are required to wear high visibility vests as per the SLSQ High Visibility clothing Policy: Competing Clubs shall provide officials and water safety personnel as listed below All Team Changes are to be made with the Marshall before the event has begun Clubs may appeal a dismissed protest to the Appeals Committee. A fee of $110.00 per individual/team must be lodged. If the appeal is upheld the fee will be returned. If the appeal is dismissed the fee is retained by Sunshine Coast Branch. OFFICIALS All officials must be current financial members of their Surf Life Saving Club. Officials will be appointed from the collection of information submitted by clubs by the closing date for nominations. Delays in submitting these nominations will result in referee not having the up to date information to set appointments. Clubs that do not supply enough officials will be excluded from competing. The ratio for numbers of officials per club is 1 official per 8 competitors. PLEASE NOTE THAT AT LEAST 50% OF THE NOMINATED OFFICIALS NEED TO BE A MINIMUM LEVEL 1 OFFICIAL. ROSTERED IRB DRIVER AND CREW ONLY COUNT AS OFFICIALS IF THEY ARE ACTING AS JUDGE IN BOAT AND HOLD AN OFFICIALS ACCREDITATION. All Officials will be required to SIGN ON AND OFF to comply with workplace safety and insurance purposes. If nominated official / water safety personnel do not attend, your club must replace them with another qualified person. IRB AND WATER SAFETY REQUIREMENTS The host club will provide 2 x qualified IRB crews (4 in total) and 2 x fully serviced and operational IRB. The next top three clubs (host club excluded) based on competitor numbers will provide a qualified IRB crew and fully serviced and operational IRB for a half day shift each day. All crews must abide by the SLSA/SLSQ Water Safety Policy and wear appropriate High Vis Vests, cap and PFD. Water safety personnel are to be provided by each competing club at a ratio of 1 person per competing club each day and will be rostered for half day shift by the coordinator. All water safety personnel must arrive with the SLSA approved water safety uniform and rescue tube. Water safety personnel are to be provided by competing Clubs on a roster basis as provided by the Coordinator and circulated with the final bulletin. Murphy Homes Maroochy Surf Classic 3/9

Failure by any Club to provide IRB and water safety personnel as per the roster will exclude that Club from competing. As all clubs would be aware water safety is a vital activity in any carnival and without water safety carnivals cannot happen. FIRST AID PERSONNEL Sunshine Coast Branch is seeking to develop a pool of First Aiders for carnivals to relieve some of the burden from host clubs. Two (2) personnel will man each First Aid site (tent). First Aiders will hold a current Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate and Apply Senior First Aid Certificate as a minimum. First Aid Personnel will be appointed form the expressions of interest submitted by clubs on the Team Managers Declaration by the closing date for nominations. TEAM MANAGERS DECLARATIONS A Team Managers Declaration MUST be completed by all Clubs and sent to the Branch by the date as indicated below. No clubs will be eligible to start the carnival without a completed Team Managers Declaration Team Manager must wear be clearly identifiable at all times within the competition area and a briefing. Any changes of Team/Age Manager personnel must be reported to Carnival Referee. Any club that fails to follow the signs will be asked to move their tent. All clubs must adhere to the wearing of the Pink High Vis competition vests at all times within the competition arena including during warm ups and warm downs. Failure to do so could see the offending club being suspended from competition. Warm up arenas will be: Solid colour - (craft) Split colour - (swim) All clubs, competitors and officials are to read and obey the parking signs set up by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council and the Carnival Committee.
