DATE: 16-21 September 2012: World Championships 14-15 September 2012: Open International Contest Buzau Cup, F5B, F5D SITE LOCATION: The World Championships will take place on a large field 10 km S-W of Buzau, the same place which hosted 2011 European Spacemodels Championships. The field is grass covered, 4 x 8 km, alongside the European E85 road. PARTICIPANTS: Each NAC/National Federation may enter a team of 3 senior competitors and 1 junior competitor in each class, Team Manager, helpers, supporters and press representatives. The World Champions at 2010 World Championships are invited to defend their title. FAI LICENSES: All competitors and Team Managers must possess a FAI License valid for 2012. RULES: The FAI Sporting Code General Section, Sporting Code Section 4, F5 relevant amendments. AWARDS: The Organizer will offer FAI medals and diplomas, cups to the first three in individual and team classification (including the Team Manager). The following trophies will be awarded: - F5B Individual, Puffin Models of Bristol Trophy, present holder Mr. G. Reub, Germany; - F5D Individual, The British Electric Flying Association Trophy, present holder Mr. G. Mayr, Austria; ENTRY FEES: - 300 EUR/ senior competitor and Team Manager; - 150 EUR/ junior competitor; - 60 EUR/ helpers, supporters; - 40 EUR/ competitor in International Contest Buzau Cup (optional); - 35 EUR/ person, banquet PROTEST: 35 EUR PROVISIONAL SCHEDULE - 14 th September, Friday morning: registration in Buzau Cup F5B and D, eventually F5F Friday afternoon: Round 1 F5B and Rounds 1-2 F5D - 15 th September, Saturday: Rounds 2-3 F5B and Rounds 3-6 F5D - 16 th September, Sunday: Registration for World Championships, model processing from 09:00 to 22:00 Sunday: Team Managers Meeting, at 20:00-17 th September, Monday-20 th of September, Thursday: WCh F5B (* Rounds) and WCh F5D (16 Rounds) - 21 st September, morning: reserve day; evening: banquet - 22 nd September: departure of participants after breakfast. All radio equipment must be ECC certified. It is contestant s responsibility to assure that all equipment meets this requirement. In rare cases, other transmitters may be permitted. INTERNATIONAL CONTEST BUZAU CUP : The International Contest Buzau Cup, Open F5B and Open F5D Contests will be conducted on Friday afternoon and Saturday, 14 th and 15 th September. All World Championships participants are invited to attend and fly in this event. This event will give the World Championships competitors the opportunity to practice on the official flying site. LOCAL RULE: Competitors of the glider classes F5B and F5F must bring an additional receiver to the competition, on the same frequency they are using.
F5B The limit is checked by an electronic limiter/logger from SM-Modellbau or Steve Neu that stops the motor after a preset energy level. Logger data may be compared against the recorded signaling where any violation is penalized. The wiring and signaling will be checked also and must be according to the manual without any doubt. This is checked immediately after the flight by the organizer. After checking the logged data and the confirmation of the organizer that everything was within the rules the pilot has the right to request that the logged data have to be deleted immediately. F5D The limit is checked by an electronic limiter/logger from SM-Modellbau or Steve Neu that stops the motor after a preset energy level for at least 10 sec. Logger data may be read out and checked by the organizer. Any violation is penalized. The wiring and signaling will be checked also and must be according to the manual without any doubt. This is checked immediately after the flight by the organizer. After checking the logged data and the confirmation of the organizer that everything was within the rules the pilot has the right to request that the logged data have to be deleted immediately. ANTI DOPING Quote from the FAI Anti-Doping regulations: If you regularly take medication prescribed by your doctor and this medication is on the WADA Prohibited List, you need to get a form called a TUE (therapeutic use exemption) filled out by your doctor. International level
athletes must send the form to the FAI Secretariat, National level athletes send it to their National Air Sport Control. PRELIMINARY ENTRIES: we are kindly asking all the NAC/Federations to send the preliminary entry forms on the attached forms until the 15 th of February 2012. Information Bulletin no 2 will be posted on www.frmd.ro on the 30 th of March 2012.
