I hope students and staff have a great Thanksgiving week filled with family and friends and some time to slow down and remember all the blessings. I am grateful to have so many things to be thankful for in my life; my beautiful wife, our son, a supportive family, Palestine ISD, and each and every staff member who works hard every day to achieve our ultimate goal of inspiring students to succeed. Turkey Drive-by PISD provided a Thanksgiving Turkey to staff on Wednesday, November 15th in appreciation for their service. The district will be closed for the Thanksgiving holidays from Monday, November 20th through Friday, November 24th. We are excited to kick off the new school year with a full athletic calendar. Our student athletes have worked hard in preparation for the new season. Cross Country is ready for their first meet in Union Grove on Saturday, Volleyball is in full swing with the varsity team competing in the Groesbeck tournament today and tomorrow, Team Tennis hosted their first home match of the season on Thursday, and varsity football will kick off their season Basketball: on September 1 st versus Mabank. We encourage our fans to come out and support all our fall sports. The Ladycat and Wildcat Basketball Teams are working hard and invite everyone to come out and support them this season. Faith Saturday, Newman November picked 25 up 4:30p 22 digs. Woodman McKenzie Classic King @ Whitehouse had 22 assists. vs. Marshall Destiny Mathews had 10 kills while Shayla Arthur added 8 kills. The Ladycats will resume play in the Eustace tournament playing at 9 am vs. Mabank in the Championship bracket. The Ladycats hosted Alba-Golden Tuesday night. The JVB team fought hard in a 3 game match, but came up short (25-20, 21-25, 23-25). Our JVA team won in exciting fashion coming from behind in the 3rd set to win (15-25, 25-16, 25-20)! Our varsity girls showed heart and fight in their 5 game match with Alba-Golden. We came up short, but very proud of the effort the girls gave (26-24, 15-25, 25-23, 22-25, 12-15). We will be playing in the Groesbeck tournament this Friday and Saturday! The
