GIRLS 12 RHS VS. BREBEUF JESUIT * DEC. 15, 2017 LAST RECAP - DEC. 9 VS. LAWRENCE NORTH The Lady Rebels rallied in the final quarter, but fell short in a 50-39 loss to Lawrence North last Saturday morning in the Marion County Tournament semifinal round. Roncalli trailed by only 10 (27-17) at the half, despite allowing eight Lawrence North 3-pointers. The Wildcats led 37-19 with 3:09 remaining in the third quarter. The Lady Rebels closed the third quarter with a 7-2 run. After the Wildcats scored the first basket of the final quarter, the Lady Rebels scored 11 straight points to cut the deficit to four (41-37) with 4:10 left. The teams traded baskets over the next 2:11 before Lawrence North scored the game s final seven points. Ellie Bischoff led Roncalli with 12 points, including three 3-pointers. Alana Vinson added 11 points and five rebounds. Maddie Bischoff contributed eight points and four assists, while Anna Bauer grabbed five rebounds. Roncalli was making its sixth consecutive appearance in the Marion County Tournament semifinals. After going six straight games shooting under 40%, the Lady Rebels have shot 40% or better in each of the last four games. The Lady Rebels have hit 19 3-pointers in the last three games. They hit 24 in the first eight games of the season. NEXT OPPONENT - LAWRENCE NORTH Roncalli s home stretch continues next Wednesday night when they host Lawrence North. Lawrence North defeated Roncalli last Saturday morning 50-39 in the semifinal round of the Marion County Tournament. The Wildcats are 4-0 all-time at The Woodshed. IN THE WOODSHED The Lady Rebels play their home games in an 1,100-seat gym known as The Woodshed. The gym hosted its first game in November of 1962, when the school was known as Bishop Chartrand High School. In the fall of 1969, John F. Kennedy Memorial High School merged with Bishop Chartrand to form Roncalli High School, whose teams would be known as the Rebels. Over the years, the gym became known as The Woodshed due to the cozy and intense atmosphere. Since the 1995-96 season, the Lady Rebels are 136-72 (.654) at home. Dating back to January 25, 2011, the Lady Rebels are 54-13 at The Woodshed. Roncalli posted a perfect 9-0 home record in 2013-14 and has won 49 of its last 59 home games. SECTIONAL TITLES 1.
