A designated hitter and the pitcher for whom he is hitting are locked into the original batting rotation of the starting lineup and may not be altered. A pinch hitter or runner used for the DH becomes the new DH at the same spot in the batting order. The DH can enter the game as a defensive player, only for the player he is hitting for. Section 12: Senior League Pitching No player may pitch more than a total of 12 innings during any consecutive three day period. No player may make more than four appearances as a pitcher during any consecutive three game period. A pitcher may be removed from the pitching position and remain in the game at another defensive position. He may then return to the pitching position at a later point in the game. However, if a coach makes two trips to the mound in an inning, that specific pitcher must be removed from the mound and may not return as a pitcher in the game. Any player who has pitched and is removed from the game as a defensive player, for even a single pitch, may not return as a pitcher in the game. 12.1 Junior and Freshman League Pitching - No player may pitch more than a total of 10 innings during any consecutive three day period. No player may make more than three appearances as a pitcher during any consecutive three game period. However, if a coach makes two trips to the mound in an inning, that specific pitcher must be removed from the mound and may not return as a pitcher in the game. Any player who has pitched and is removed from the game as a defensive player, for even a single pitch, may not return as a pitcher in the game Section 13: Pinch Runners a pinch runner may be used for any player. The pinch runner must be a bench player who has not yet entered the game. The pinch runner becomes a substitute for the player he is running for. ARTICLE IV: STANDINGS & POST SEASON ELIGIBILITY SECTION 1: League standings are determined by points. A team is awarded two (2) points for each win, one (1) point for a tie, zero (0) points for a loss and minus one (-1) for a forfeit. SECTION 2: The wining team must post game scores on the League website within 24 hours after games. SECTION 3: In the event of a tie in standings at the end of a season, the following rules apply: A. If a tie occurs between two teams for the first place or the last playoff spot, there will be a one game play-off. The Home Team will be decided on the basis of the head-to-head competition between the Teams. The winner of both regular season games, or if only one game occurred between the Teams, then that winner shall be the Home Team. If the Teams played each other twice and split the games, then the run differential of the games between the two Teams shall be considered. If that does not determine which Team is the Home Team, then a coin toss by the Commissioner will determine the Home Team. If time does not allow for a playoff game, then, the same procedure for selecting the Home Team of the one game playoff will be used to determine final rankings between the two Teams. B: A tie between two Teams for Second Place will be decided on the basis of their in-season record vs. each other, including run differential, if necessary, or a coin toss. C: If a three team tie occurs, then a two tier playoff will be conducted. The team with the best record against the other two teams will be given a bye. This will be team 1. If there is no clear best record, then run differential vs. each other will be considered to select Team # 1. If that does not determine a Team to receive the bye, then the Commissioner shall determine the Bye Team by lottery. Teams 2 and 3 will play each other and the winner will play team 1. If there is no time to conduct playoff games, the following will be used with three teams: - Teams will be matched by record for head to head play during the season. If there is still a tie, then the teams run differential of head to head play will be considered. If there is still a tie between teams, then the League Commissioner will determine rankings by a lottery.

SECTION 4: Each team shall have an opportunity for post season Tournament play. Each year, PYRAMID receives a number of bids from American Legion Baseball and bids from the American Amateur Baseball Congress. The number of bids vary with the division and size of the State Tournament of the National Program. Tournament nominees are determined based on final season rankings. The first place Team is given first choice of the available tournament bids. The process continues with the second ranked Team receiving the second choice of Tournament bids, and so on, The President and League Commissioner shall assist the Post Season process. SECTION 6: A Team that accepts a Tournament bid must appear at the Tournament with the necessary paperwork and ready to play. ARTICLE V: FORFEITS/SUSPENSIONS Section 1: Forfeiture of League games which have been scheduled, approved by all teams involved and finalized will carry the following penalties: A: The first forfeit by a team will incur a penalty equivalent to the sum of the umpire fees (two) for a Pyramid league game. The full amount will be payable to the Pyramid league within 48 hours or prior to the teams next game which ever comes first. Failure to remit timely will result in a second forfeit. B: A second forfeit by a team in the same season will again result in a penalty equal to the sum of the umpires fees however the team will also be excluded from post season play. C: A third team s forfeit within the same season will automatically be suspended from the rest of the league season. All remaining games will be forfeited. The games played before the third forfeit will count as games played if the third forfeit occurred after the midpoint of their season. If the suspension occurs prior to the mid point of their schedule then all games won or lost will be declared forfeits and wins awarded to their opponents. D: Use of an ineligible player will result in all games the ineligible player played in being forfeited 1: Team will be suspended for the remainder of year and have to apply for reinstatement before next year.

Section 2: Suspended teams may submit a written request for reinstatement into Pyramid along with payment of all past fees due no later than January 1 of the following year..
