Hoop Scoop C r o s b y C o u g a r b a s k e t b a l l Gearing up for the Season! We are off and running this season and we have been pleasantly surprised at the progression many of our players have made over the summer months. The daily commitment our players have demonstrated through weight training, conditioning, and individual skill development in the gym should make this season a very exciting one. We began our preseason strength and conditioning training in August and our players are working extremely hard. Our strength and conditioning training serves as not only a strenuous physical work-out, mental as well. We separate our players into groups and they go through a series of different endurance and mental toughness drills such as pulling & pushing 60-70lb. sleds, resistance running, sprinting bleachers while wearing a weighted vest, push-ups, sit-ups, defensive slides, box jumps, and medicine ball tosses. We have had tremendous success with this method of training in the past and expect to have even better results this season. We look forward to your continued support of our basketball team in this 2012-13 season. Let s work together to energize the Cougar Gymnasium during home games to make it the toughest place for our opponents to play in the Greater Houston area.
