Elise Medenbach is always so kind to look after our potted plants and flowers. A few died over the winter and she replaced them with nice new flowers to brighten up our deck! The Centurion Tennis Tournament Fundraiser was a smashing success! (Written by Barbara Powell, Pictures by Sharon Harrison and Kathy Rioux) Many, many thanks to the 46 members and guests who participated in and supported the very successful tournament fundraiser for the Journey of Hope. The raffle raised $695 and with the entry fees and donations we were able to donate $1.250 to Journey of Hope. Also the excess food was donated to RCS soup kitchen. Special thanks go to Kathy Rioux, communications queen, and Rich Lamke, Mr. Money, who only grumbled a couple of times at the way I handled the money. Also to Mike See for managing the tennis so admirably. Thanks also to Sharon Harrison, Bob Murphy and Catrina Carich, whose help before, during and after the event was invaluable. What would we do without volunteers? Finally, a quote from Doris Galbraith, which says it all, As a tennis group, HTRC stands at the top--- NOT only for play but for participation, support, and friendship.
