A great big thanks to Chuck Hudicek, Peter Whittlesey, and Jim Harrison for running the Tues- Thurs-Sat Round Robins while I was away. TENNIS TIP OF THE MONTH When playing on a windy day, hit into the wind for a safer shot.

Team Tennis @ HTRC: Because we need 16 to 20 players for each league, men's and women s, we are currently looking for about 6 more men and 12 more women. Dan would like to begin leagues in May! Sign up in the clubhouse or email Dan Frey if you are interested: Tennisracket2013@gmail.com Interclub Groups: Playing with area clubs, once a month, including lunch out. The men have been doing this for a while and the other clubs would like to include the women. If interested, please contact Bob Murphy at 635-1205. Contact Bob if you want to be added to his Email list. mgmrob@suddenlink.net Friday Night Open Play & Social, 5:30-8:00: We have had a good response and will start on May 1 st. We will need co-leaders who can be responsible for opening and closing, lights and securing the club at the end of the evening. If we get 2, 3 or even 4 volunteers, we can rotate. Each participant is welcome to bring food and beverage. Invite your working friends out! Sunday Afternoon Open Play, 2:30-4:30 will begin later this year, October April. Elise Medenbach is always so kind to look after our potted plants and flowers. A few died over the winter and she replaced them with nice new flowers to brighten up our deck! The Centurion Tennis Tournament Fundraiser was a smashing success! (Written by Barbara Powell, Pictures by Sharon Harrison and Kathy Rioux) Many, many thanks to the 46 members and guests who participated in and supported the very successful tournament fundraiser for the Journey of Hope. The raffle raised $695 and with the entry fees and donations we were able to donate $1.250 to Journey of Hope. Also the excess food was donated to RCS soup kitchen. Special thanks go to Kathy Rioux, communications queen, and Rich Lamke, Mr. Money, who only grumbled a couple of times at the way I handled the money. Also to Mike See for managing the tennis so admirably. Thanks also to Sharon Harrison, Bob Murphy and Catrina Carich, whose help before, during and after the event was invaluable. What would we do without volunteers? Finally, a quote from Doris Galbraith, which says it all, As a tennis group, HTRC stands at the top--- NOT only for play but for participation, support, and friendship. Barbara Powell, Sarah Teel, Ranell Winter, Doris Galbraith

Bob and Sarah Ramsey, Doris Galbraith, Gerry Wroe Gerry Wroe and Doris Galbraith won the 160's

Jed Kennish and Carol Hunter won the 140's Norm Penner and Carol Brown won the rain shortened 120's

Steve Farmer and Jean Herscovici won the 100's Cake and Raffle Items

And the Winners of the Raffle are..
