Be registered with ASSA as an Age Group Swimmer, Masters Swimmer or Para Swimmer, 2. Be registered with a club that is a assigned to the Region associated with the meet, and 3. Participate in a minimum of one (1) swim meet during the current season and prior to the Regional Championship Meet. Note: Exhibition Swimmers are not permitted to participate at Regional Championship meets. Clubs entering Exhibition Swimmers in Regional Championship meets may have their club s results disqualified, subject to review by the ASSA Executive Committee. Medals will be presented to the swimmers at the end of finals each day in the Curling Rink. Ribbons: Swimmers and relay teams placing 4th to 6th shall receive a ribbon. Team Trophies: The Club earning the highest score shall receive the Regional Champions Trophy. Warm Up Information: Updated - 2014-07-23 Warm ups will begin at 7:15AM Saturday and Sunday Morning. Lane assignments will be emailed to clubs closer to event. Warm Up Format: 15 minute circle swim and 10 minute one way dive - ALL LANES. ASSA warm up rules will be adhered to. Coaches are responsible for supervising their swimmers during the warm up time. Finals: Warm up is from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm for final qualifiers ONLY (not for relay swimmers). Lanes will not be assigned. Warm Up Format: 50 minute circle swim and 10 minute one way dive - ALL LANES. Seeding: Heats shall be seeded in accordance with SW 3.1 seeding rules. Heats will run slowest to fastest. and swimmers with no time will be randomly seeded in the slowest heats. Finals and time finals shall be seeded in accordance with SW 3.2 Time Final events may be combined by age group; additionally, the 800 and 1500 style events may be combined by gender, by age group, or both. Where Time Final events are combined, swimmers from a given event shall be seeded in adjacent lanes. Coaches Meeting: Updated - 2014-07-11 The coaches meeting will be at 7:00 AM Saturday and 7:00 AM Sunday in the Club Room above the curling rink.. Each club is required to have a registered coach in attendance both days. Deck Entries: Updated - 2014-07-11 Deck Entries are not permitted at Regional Championship Meets Scratch Rules/Penalties: Updated - 2014-07-23 Scratches will be accepted until 7:15 am Saturday for Saturday events and 7:15 am Sunday for Sunday events. Please hand in your scratches each day either at the coaches meeting or to Garth at the Clerk of Course table. There will be no refunds for swimmers scratched after the entry deadline. There are no financial penalities for swimmers who "No Show" for their event. Officials:: Updated - 2014-07-23 We ask that each club supply officials. We are looking for: 7 stroke and turn judges, 12 timers, 6 head timers (stroke & turn qualified) and 1 chief timer for each shift. Please email your list of officials by August 5th to Noble-Lee Valentine at j.n.valentine1995@gmail.com Please let me know if your timing official volunteer is not certified. Thank you in advance for volunteering! You get the best seats in the house & are well feed! The officials sign-up sheet on ASSA will be updated regularly. There will be an officials meeting in the Club Room at 8:00 am Saturday and Sunday for the morning shifts and at 1:00 pm Saturday and Sunday for the afternoon shifts. The dress for officials at Alberta swim meets is navy blue tops and white or tan bottoms. Protests: Updated - 2014-07-29 Any protests must be submitted in writing to the referee no later than 30 minutes following the event. The fee accompanying the protest is $50.00, payable to ASSA Region D and is refundable only if the disqualification is overturned. Raffle Table: Updated - 2014-07-23 There will be a raffle table at our Regional Swim Meet. All items being raffled are donationed by Region D clubs. All proceeds go back into the Region to help offset costs. Region D Meeting: Updated - 2014-07-23 There will be a Region D meeting during the lunch break on Saturday. Please have at least one representative from each club attend. Arrive at the Club Room at the beginning of the lunch break & you will be directed to the Region D meeting Room.
