CELEBRATING 16 YEARS OF SINGLES GOLF IN AMERICA Dallas-Ft. Worth Chapter - American Singles Golf Association November 2008 Update From the President Well, it's official, I am in as Prez for one more year. I can't wait!!! The Chair Positions will be elected at our November general meeting; which will be held at Cool River. Hope you can make it to enjoy an adult beverage or two, rub elbows (or belly's if you wish) with one of your fellow ASGAers. The socials are a great opportunity to meet that person you haven't been matched up with on the golf course. Remember, we are all about Fellowship, Friendship and Fairways; and Freeways for most of us. ~Debbie Hutson Chapter News The two person scramble is probably the toughest ASGA format we play. You don't have a big team to rely on. It's you and your partner. At least if you were playing alone, your mistakes would be your own. I don't know if Dick and Sherry were thinking about all that when they shot their stunning 68 at Indian Creek (Lakes Course). Maybe they were just thinking how fun it was to kick our butts! And to win those $25 gift certificates, I might add. Sherry is new to ASGA and possibly a ringer on the golf course, but that s OK. Murray and Cheryl took dead aim to win our closest to the pin contests. Tony Drury won the raffle for two free rounds at Indian Creek. We had about 30 ASGAers come out on a fine fall day. We toasted the best and comforted the rest after golf with margaritas and Mexican food at the nearby Hacienda Ranch. The poor waiter had a little trouble with the concept that we were single folks, and in general, pick up our own checks. But he was a good sport. Next month we'll be at the ultra-plush Twin Creeks Golf Club in Allen. See details below. And mark your calendars for our Holiday Tournament and Members Dinner on Saturday, December 6th at Tour 18 in Flower Mound. Golf Digest 2009 Readers' Choice awards ranked it #37 in the country for a public facility. We promise fun, food, and every good ASGAer will get something from Santa! ~Bill Wray, Communications Chair Details of Upcoming Events Happy Hour at Cool River, Thursday, November 13, 2008 We ll have our election of officers in the Rio Grande room. It was a beautiful fall day.
Vernon loves the ladies. And the ladies love Vernon. Dick and Sherry turned the outing into a routing by shooting a 68. Howard thinks chit-chat is fine but how about some service?
Nyles made some new friends at our Glass Cactus happy hour. Debbie Hutson was elected our 2009 president. Part of her platform is to help the unfortunate. Steve said he would vote for her if she bought him another beer. Cathy chimed in that she wanted a piece of that action. The view from the deck
