REEDSBURG YOUTH FOOTBALL, INC. Prgram Rules & Regulatins Reedsburg Yuth Ftball (RYF) Prgram is designed t serve a wide variety f yung athletes. Many factrs have been cnsidered in creating ur rules and prcedures. Many are league rules set frth by the Badger Central Ftball League (BCYFL) and the Middle Schl Alliance; the RYF Bard f Directrs established the rest. These rules and regulatins are designed t ensure safety, fairness, and even cmpetitin in all grades. A. Philsphy: T prvide rganized and supervised flag and tackle ftball prgram fr all yuth in grades 3 rd -8 th. T teach the fundamentals f the sprt f ftball, and prmte the ideals f gd sprtsmanship, hnesty, curage and discipline. 3 rd Grade will be a Flag prgram that will meet fr a maximum f 5 Saturdays, fr a maximum time f 2 hurs. Each Saturday will be brke int 2 parts. Part 1 will fcus n teaching the fundamentals f Heads Up ftball, and Part 2 will be implantatin f skills in a 45 minute Flag Ftball game. 4 th thrugh 8 th grade will be a tackle ftball prgram that will start in early August and end in mid-octber in accrdance with league calendar. All caches and player educatin will meet the guidelines set frth by USA Ftball/Heads up Ftball and that f the Reedsburg Ftball varsity head cach and the Leagues that RYF is an active part f. B. Cde f cnduct: Each participating player, cach and parent/guardian is required t sign the cde f cnduct frm t participate in the prgram. >>Please see Cde f Cnduct Plicy rev.1.2016 C. Registratin: Registratin is pen frm April 15 July 31 st via mail, walk-in dates in May r nline. On time registratins are submitted befre May 31 st each year. Late registratins are subject t Bard Apprval and will nt be accepted after the fficial mandatry weigh-in date established by the League unless the player is new t the district.
Abslutely n players will be added after first game has been played. NO EXCEPTIONS. Fees: Registratin Fee fr Grades 4 th thrugh 8 th is $105.00 and $25.00 fr 3 rd Grade. Registratins submitted after June 1 st will be subject t a $25.00 nnrefundable late fee Registratins submitted after July 1 st will be subject t a $50.00 nnrefundable late fee. Partial financial assistance is available t qualifying families. A $15.00 discunt fr the secnd and third child fr families with multiple children in the prgram. We are a vlunteer run rganizatin. Each family will be required t vlunteer during events n a rtating basis. This can include Cach/Clck / Chains / Cncessins /Team Parent Rep Fundraising: In rder t maintain equipment, facilities and t keep registratin fees reasnable, it is necessary fr Reedsburg Yuth Ftball t d sme fundraising. In an effrt t be fair t all participants and families that are a part f RYF: At registratin, a $100.00 depsit will be cllected frm each family It is preferred the depsit cme in the frm f a check The depsit will be refunded if the family meets the minimum required fr sales. RYF will shred all depsit checks that meet the sales minimum 10 days after fundraising event cmpleted and turned in. Any family nt meeting the minimum fr sales will have their depsit check cashed by RYF 10 days fllwing the cmpletin f the sales turn in date. All credits frm fundraising/cncessin help will be applied t the next years ftball seasn: Credits are gd fr registratin amunt nly Credits have n cash value Credits can Only be used fr yur immediate family Sn/Daughter Stepsn/step daughter
D. Equipment Unlike many prgrams, RYF prvides all equipment except cleats. Because f this we have established rules t ensure the equipment is available fr years t cme. ALL paperwrk & Fees MUST be cmplete and paid in full prir t equipment hand ut, r NO equipment will be issued. Equipment is prvided fr each player. Families need t prvide, ftball cleats and a Psitive Attitude At the Parent meeting in late July, parents will be prvided with infrmatin regarding equipment pick-up and practice schedules. Player is required t try n all equipment; we will have caches available t fit the equipment apprpriately. Player must wear undergarments under ftball pants. A $25 fee will charged fr all equipment returned later than assigned dates unless prir arrangements are made. Invices will be issued n Octber 31 st fr all lst r unreturned equipment fr full replacement value, Plus 15%. Until equipment is returned and late fees paid the player will nt be allwed t play the fllwing year. E. Team Draft Plicy: Every year there is a redraft f all players at each grade level with equal distributin. F. Seasn: Practices will nt start befre the high schl prgram begins per WIAA rule. Practice dates & times will be determined by the caches Practice day #1 & #2 will be helmet nly. Practice day #3-#5 will be helmet & shulder pad nly. A maximum f 5 practices per week can be held until the first game/r schl starts(whichever cmes first) After schl starts, a maximum f 3 practices can be held per week. Practices will nt be lnger than 2 hurs in length. Practices are held in all types f weather, but will be cancelled by caches fr the fllwing reasns: Lightning When thunder is heard r clud t grund lightning blt is seen, the leading edge f a thunderstrm is clse enugh t strike yur lcatin with lightning. Suspend play fr 30 minutes and take shelter immediately. 30 minute rule Once play has been suspended, wait at least 30 minutes after the last thunder is heard r flash f lightning is witnessed prir t resuming play. Any subsequent thunder r lightning after the 30 minute cunt has started will re-start anther 30 minute cunt. Excessive heat & humidity If Heat Index is belw 95 Prvide ample amunts f water Mnitr athletes clsely Helmet and Shulder pads nly are recmmended Re-check heat & humidity every 30 minutes t watch fr changes

Hme Games: All players are expected t be at Webb field 45 minutes prir t their start time ( UNLESS, their cach gives them a different arrival time) The first game f the day, that team is respnsible fr setting up the game field, This includes: All sideline markers-lcated 2 yards ff f the side line All pylns ( 6 in each end zne) Bth gal pst pads Fill the water cart Chains & Dwn marker( Hme team sideline) The last team playing is respnsible fr returning all game/field equipment t the press bx. Away Games: 4 th, 5 th, & 6 th Grade: Arrive at yur game lcatin at least 30 minutes prir t yur scheduled start time( unless yur cach instructs differently) 7 th & 8 th Grade: All away games teams will be bussed t the game site leaving frm Web Middle Schl There must be a minimum f 3 caches n each bus, bth t and back frm the game ALL players are required t ride the team bus t the game Failure t ride the team bus: 1 st Offense Sit ut the 1 st half f that game + 1 st quarter f next game 2 nd Offense and beynd Player will sit ut this game + next game Fr the last game f the seasn: If mre than 3 kids miss the team bus Caches MUST FORFEIT THE GAME NO game will be played!

Attendance: Each player wh (1) attends all practices, (2) maintains a psitive and cntributing attitude, and (3) abides by all player cde f cnduct shall be guaranteed playing time. Reedsburg Yuth Ftball, Inc. is a Yuth Sprt, and firmly believes that schl, and family d cme first, if fr any reasn, yur child has t miss an event (practice r game) fr these reasns, please cmmunicate this with yur caching staff, and these reasns will have n effect n playing time.(unless fr an extended perid f time) At the 4 th and 5 th grade levels, players will be encuraged t play n bth ffense and defense as well as at different psitins. Every reasnable attempt will be made t substitute players within games as well as practices. At the 6 th, 7 th and 8 th grade levels, we als encurage play n bth ffense and defense, but recgnize that this is nt always in the best interest f the player (safety, cmfrt level, etc). Due t the increased level f cmpetitin, playing time will be linked t the player s ability t demnstrate cmprehensin f the game as instructed by the caching staff. Excused Absence Mst excused absences, with prir ntificatin t the event t be missed (practice r game) will have n effect n playing time, unless fr an extended perid f time is missed. Un-excused Absence 1 st Offense sit 1 quarter f next game 2 nd Offense sit 1 st half f next game 3 rd Offense and beynd sit first 3 quarters f next game If a parent believes that their child is nt receiving adequate playing time: set up a time t meet with yur caches, after a practice, never immediately fllwing a game. If yur meeting with yur caches is unsatisfactry, please cntact a bard member, and we will set up a meeting with all three parties t discuss and review. Gd cmmunicatin between parents and caches either directly, r thrugh the team representative, will help build understanding.
H. Yuth Night/Tail Gate Party: Yuth Night is an evening that yuth ftball players gather befre the Varsity game, and grill ut and players can attend the Varsity game fr free if they wear their game jersey r 3 rd grade Yuth Ftball t-shirt. Yuth night is usually planned fr the Varsity s 1 st hme game f the seasn. Yuth night usually will have a NFL spnsred Punt, Pass & Kick cntest befre the Varsity game starts during the tail gate party Under the supervisin f the cach s the yuth players will line up by teams a cuple minutes befre halftime at the East End Zne fence. As the teams are annunce they will run acrss the Millennium Field. Parents/guardians are respnsible fr supervising their children. I. Refunds: Participatin in the Reedsburg Yuth Ftball prgram requires cmmitments -- frm the players, the parents and the caches. A $25 fee is autmatically allcated fr administratin fees and is NONrefundable at any time. The rest f the fee is refundable up until the day equipment is handed ut. After that date n refunds will be available. Special refunds will be cnsidered fr medical reasns nly and is subject t apprval by the bard f directrs. All apprved refunds will be issued a check regardless f methd f payment. Refund Prcedure: Submit a written request t the President f Reedsburg Yuth Ftball. All Equipment MUST be received befre a refund check can be issued. The Treasurer will mail a refund check within 10 wrking days frm the date the equipment is returned. J. Emergencies: Due t the nature f ftball, sme injuries will ccur. All injuries must be called t the cach s attentin. Mst will be minr and can be managed with basic first aid. Hwever, if mre intense management is required the rest f the team must: Stp all practices, scrimmages, r drills. DO NOT mve the injured player. Call the cach t manage the situatin. Nn-injured players shuld sit r kneel at a distance.
