Additional awards (Medals) will be presented to all competitors All female and male contestants who are current members of United States Judo Inc., United States Judo Federation or United States Judo Association. All contestants must be familiar with the sport of Judo and the rules in connection therewith and have sufficient ability to safely compete in this tournament. Contestants, their parents (in the case of minor contestants) and their instructors have the responsibility of ensuring that all contestants meet this requirement. Competitors must present current USJA, USJF or USJI membership card. Those without a valid registration will be required to register with USJA or USJF at registration desk to be allowed to participate in the shiai. Elimination & Pooling: The Pool system of scoring will be used. Depending on the number of contestants, the Tournament Director reserves the right to combine or change groups to benefit the majority of the contestants. All contestants must compete at their true age and weight except where the participant is uncontested; the tournament director reserves the right to adjust player pools in the best interest and safety of the contestants. Coaches, Instructors & Parents will have an opportunity to review the categories and confirm their child's/athlete's suitability for participation. Competition Divisions These will be divided in to both Male & Female Divisions Co-ed pools may be used with contestants under the age of 10. Match durations: Junior Division Intermediate Division Senior Division 2 minutes 3 minutes 3 minutes Golden Score process for determining winners in a tied match Any changes to the pool must be made prior to the start of the pool in order to receive a refund for the tournament. The CARE system will not be used. Co-ed pools may be used with contestants under the age of 10. Winners are determined by: Most Wins, then Most Points, then Head to Head Contest, then Higher Rank Loses, then Smaller Player Wins.
