Rules/Etiquette Meeting: Region golf rules/etiquette meetings are mandatory and must be concluded by September 15 for 2A through 5A boys regions and by April 15 for 1A boys regions and all girls regions. The region qualifying meet may not be held at the site of the state meet. Qualifying teams may enter up to 6 individual golfers but in no case fewer than 4. Four will qualify for team scores for boys and three will count for girls. The girls state championship will be an 18-hole event. The boys state championship will be a 36-hole event. There will be a cut after the first round (18 holes) with 60% of the team field continuing the second day (18 holes) for team championship honors. The cut for individual honors will include any golfer within 10 shots of the lead to advance to the final 18 holes for medalist honors. These changes in the state meet are based on the cooperation of member schools keeping students in the classroom as much as possible. Accordingly, NEITHER PRACTICE ROUNDS nor PRACTICE OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED AT THE SITE OF THE STATE MEET THE DAY BEFORE THE STATE MEET. No individual or team practice of any kind is allowed. This means there can be no chipping, no putting, no hitting of range balls, no walking the course, no practice rounds, etc. by any state meet participant on this day. Penalty for infraction of this rule is disqualification. No participant is allowed on the premises of the state meet the day prior to scheduled competition. Practice is allowed on the day of the tournament. In the spirit of this philosophy, practice rounds should not be scheduled at any site which causes lost classroom time. No golf competition will be allowed on the site of the state meet within two weeks of the state championship. s utilizing the course as their official home course could still practice at the site and individuals and teams could still practice (no competitions) at the state site within two weeks prior to the state meet, BUT NOT THE DAY BEFORE. The subscribes to the rules of the United States Golf Association including its amateur rules. The Utah Section PGA monitors these rules at championship meets. The selection of all-state golf teams is not a function of the and questions concerning the process should be directed to the Utah Section PGA. There will be a $20 individual or $120 team greens fee charged all participants at the boys state meet. The will not provide athletic trainers on site at state golf tournaments. qualification standards for the state meets are as follows: 5A BOYS and GIRLS 1. Region 1 qualifies five teams.
