RAC E NOTIC E J80 Asian Championship December 4 th to 10 th,2018 1) ORGANISING AUTHORITY The organizing authority (OA) is the Asian J80 Class Association, Chinese Yacthing Association, Fujian Province Sports Bureau and Xiamen Municipal People s Government. AQUILA(SHANGHAI)SPORS DEVP CO.,LTD 2) RULES 2.1 The championship is governed by: - The rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS)2017-2020 - The Chinese J80 Class Rule, this Notice of Race, the Sailing Instructions 2.2 The official language is English 3) ADVERTISING 3.1 Advertising is permitted in accordance with World Sailing Regulation 20 and the Class Rules (C2.1). 3.2 Boats may also be required to display advertising chosen and/or supplied by the Organsing Authority. 3.3 Participants will be responsible for keeping such advertising visible throughout the championship. 4) ELIGIBILITY 4.1 The regatta is open only to the Members of J/80 Class as defined by the J/80 Class Rules (C3.3) and being registered with their National Class Association. 4.2 Sailor can be registered as a J80 Chinese Class Member at J/80 Chinese Class Association during this Championship the annual fee is CNY 300. 4.3 Sailors that are already registered member of other national association need to show their membership card. 4.3 All boats and crews needs to be weighed, sails need to be measured and boat inspection need to be done according to the class rules before racing. 4.4 Eligible boats may enter by Completing the online entry form at www.jboatchina.com and pay the required fee after confirmation form organizing authority and no later than 31 st October,2018. All entry shall not be considered complete until the entry form is completed and the entry
fee paid. 4.5 Late entry may be accepted at the discretion of the Organizing Authority and will be subject to a late fee. 5) FEES 5.1 The entry before 31 st October 2018 is USD 300 or CNY 2000 or equivalent amount. 5.2 If an entry is accepted by the Organizing Authority after the deadline of 31th October, the late entry fee will be 500USD or CNY 3300 or equivalent amount. 5.3 The entry fee covers: -Berth in Marina Wu Yuan Bay from 4 th to 11 th Oct -Crane for launching and lifting the boat -A polo shirt per person and a skipper bag per team -Gift package -Free access to all shore-based events for each crew member (opening ceremony, crew dinner,prize ceremony) -Accompaniers can perchase an access to all the shore-based events for CNY-300/pers. 5.4 In the event of force majeure or in order to ensure participants safety, the Organizing Authority may decide to cancel or interrupt the Championship. Such cancellation or interruption will not trigger any reimbursement of the entry fee or any damage claim. This applies, with no limitation to exceptionally adverse weather conditions, war, mobilization, requisition, embargo, fire, flooding, strike or any blocking of the facilities caused by an event outside the control of the Organizing Authority. 6) SCHEDULE(INTENDED) 6.1 Dates and Events: Tuesday 4 TH Dec - From 10:00 to 17:00 Welcome - Trailer parking available in anticipation of Saturday craning operation Wednesday 5 th Dec - From 8:00 to 17:00 Welcome - Craning, registration, crew weighing, boat weighing, sail measure, boat inspection Thursday 6 th Dec - From 10:00 to 17:00 Welcome - Craning, registration, crew weighing, boat weighing, sail measure, boat inspection
- Skipper meeting - Welcome dinner and opening ceremony. Introduce each class by its president. Friday 7 th Dec Satursday 8 TH Dec Sunday 9 th Dec Monday 10 th Dec - Crew dinner, Closing award ceremony of the worlds championship. Monday 10 th Dec - Start of the lifting of boats. 7) MEASURE 7.1 Boat weight need to be apply to the class rules, any boat lighter than the class limit need to be added weight before registration. 7.2 Boats must come with certified sails in accordance with the class rules. 7.3 The controlling authority with respect to Class Rule will be the J/80 Technical Committee. 8) SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The Sailing Instruction will be provided to the participants upon confirmation of their registration at the Championship Secretary. They will be published on the championship website. www.jboatchina.com 9) VENUE The boats will be welcomed at WuYuan Bay, Xiamen. 10) COURSE 10.1 The course will be windward /leeward using laid inflatable marks. Further details will be included in the Sailing Instructions. 10.2 The racing area will be located inside Baie des Sables d Olonne. 11) PENALTIES 11.1 A semi direct umpiring might be implemented on the race course. 11.2 Penalties will be published in the Sailing Instructions. 12) BOAT CHARTERS 12.1 The organizing committee will supply 40 charter boats of complete J80
complying with International J80 Class rule. The charter boat will include hull complete and necessary fittings, mast set, sails and mandatory equipment as required by class rule. 12.2 Boat charter fee is USD 1200 or CNY 8000 per boat including items mentioned in 8.1. The sailor are allow to bring their own sails that complied to the J80 class rule. 12.3 Teams bring their own boat won t need to pay any charter fee. But owner shall pay for any weigh correction according to the class rule. 12.4 Charter period will start from 5 th t0 10 th December. 13) SCORING 13.1 The minimum number of races needed to constitute a series is 3 13.2 The following ranking will be established 1. overall 2.woman 3.youth( less than 25-year on Jan 1 st ) 4.master(skipper and crew average age 46-year and above) 5.mixed (50% woman at least) 6.corinthian(100% non professional) 13.3 The scoring principle will be published in the Sailing Instructions. 14. International Jury 14.1 An international jury will be appointed in accordance with Appendix N 14.2 Decisions of jury will be final as provided in RRS 70.5 15. PRIZE 15.1 The Asian Championship Trophy will be awarded to the overall winner. 15.2 Ther will be award toward 1 st to 3 rd of overall, woman, youth, master, mixed Corinthian. 16. CHANG TO NOTICE OF RACE The organizing authority nay change the Notice of Race; Any such changes will be posted on the regatta website www.jboatchina.com. 17. INSURANCE 17.1 The safety of boat and her entirement during the event shall be the sole inescapable responsibility of the owner/boat charter s representative. 17.2 Each comperitor and crew onboad shall hold adequate and effective... personal accidental insurance of minimum vober of USD 500,000 or CHY.. 300,000 per incident. Such insurance shall be valid during the event and in
. the race area. Sucha insurance evidence shall be presented to the Organizing Authority when registration. 18. HOTEL AND TRANSPORTATION 18.1 Xiamen Xiang Lu Grand will be the regatta www.xianglugrang.com 18.2 Shuttle bus will be arranged from hotel to marina 18.3 More information will be published on website. 18. MEDIA RIGHTS. By entering this regatta,the owner (or charterer) and crew members on competing boats grant at no cost the absolute right and permission to use their names, voice, images, likenesses,and biographical material, as well as representation of their yatch in any media(including televition, print and internet) to the J80 Chinese Class Association hosting club and event sponsor. 19.DISCLAMER OF LIABILITY Competitors shall participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk.
