Special thanks go out to our Finance Officer, Lori Lallo for assisting the Tribe in this achievement. Matthew Howard, CPA Wade, Howard & Associates, CPAs LLP 1810 Gillespie Way Suite 106 El Cajon, Ca. 92020 Casino News On July 22 nd, the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) conducted its semi-annual inspection of the Santa Ysabel Gaming Commission. NIGC is the federal regulatory agency charged with oversight of Tribal gaming in the U.S., pursuant to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. The Santa Ysabel Gaming Commission (SYGC) has primary responsibility for ensuring regulatory compliance of the operation of the Santa Ysabel Resort & Casino. For the first time since the casino opened in 2007, the SYGC was found to be in 100 % compliance with federal regulations. The NIGC investigator conducting the most recent inspection commented that it is very unusual for a Tribal gaming regulatory agency to be 100% compliant. The SYGC attributes these excellent inspection results to the Commission s close working relationship with Casino management to ensure the protection of Tribal assets and protection of the public. Also, part of this website, there will be a Members Only page, that will be accessed only by members. Please send us your email addresses to: Iipay.info@yahoo.com NATIVEHIRE-SCTCA Nativehire is a non-profit job search engine, (similar to Monster.com), specifically geared to Native Americans. It is a division of the Southern California Tribal Chairmen s Association and was born out of a collaboration between Tribes, Federal Contractors and the Department of Labor. With little funding and two parttime employees, Nativehire was unveiled in April 2012 and set out to unite Native job seekers with employers who were looking to diversify and to comply with TERO regulations. Today Nativehire has grown from a small search engine focused on the San Diego County area to a National website servicing all Native American and Alaska Natives across the United States. Nativehire provides Native American job seekers a place to search for jobs, post their resume, find local job skills courses, connect with job resources and more. And all of these services are free of charge to job seekers. For employers who might be interested in posting jobs on Nativehire there are yearly rates which are based on company size. There are discounts for non-profit organizations and Native American or tribally owned businesses. There are also opportunities to become a sponsor which come with great benefits. Nativehire is committed to strengthening our workforce, and as such, all proceeds made by the company are put back into the community in the form of scholarships and training programs. Through partnerships with local organizations and large corporations, Nativehire is a great resource for Native American job seekers. And it is our vision to become nationally recognized as the premier online employment solution for American Indians and Alaska Natives. So go online and check us out at: www.nativehire.org and then spread the word about us. Like us on Facebook too!
