Everyone did a great job learning and teaching the new routines with all the new rules! It has been one of the smoothest transition years that we have ever seen. Thank you to all that took the time to complete a SC USAG Surveys. This always helps the committee make important decisions regarding the upcoming season. A Special Congratulations goes out to all the SC Regional, Eastern and National Qualifiers. Be sure to look through this newsletter to see the results from those championship meets. As we move into the summer months, please be sure to keep up to date with any updates that may occur to the current rules by attending a Regional or National Congress. This year our Region is also fortunate to be hosting the National NAWGJ Symposium in Atlanta. These are all great ways to get first hand information that will be helpful to you and your club for the upcoming season. You will find helpful resources on our SC website including State Meet Bid forms and Invitational Meet info. Our Annual State Meeting will take place Sunday September 14 @ 2:00pm at Carolina Gymnastics Center. The competition calendar will also be updated and sent out periodically over the summer months so that you can plan your season as soon as possible. Have a wonderful summer! Forms available on website sc.gymnastics-org State Meet Bid Info State Meet Bid Form Invitational Meet Info Request For Judges Training Camp Forms will be available in August Rebecca has been associated with the Ocean Flippers since the age of eight as either a competitive gymnast or coach. After completing her degree in Charleston, Rebecca moved back to the Myrtle Beach area to help Louie with the growing optional program. Her attention to detail and expertise has made her an invaluable asset not just for her own gym club but all of the State as well. She has been a volunteer coach for many State and Regional Clinics. Rebecca has coached at the level 10 State, Regional and National levels for the last six years. Over the years, Rebecca has established relationships with many University and College Coaches. These relationships have helped Rebecca to be able to offer advice and support to any South Carolina athlete that might be interested in pursuing a future in collegiate gymnastics. She is a great role model for South Carolina athletes and she has had a tremendous impact on the growth and development of Gymnastics in our State. Congratulations Rebecca and thank you for your many years of service to South Carolina Gymnastics!
