ADMISSION: There will be an admission fee of $5 per adults, $3 per student and $2 per senior citizen. Programs will be available at a cost of $3 each. INDIVIDUALS RULE CHANGE: Any swimmer entering as an individual from a school that does not have a swim team will still place and earn a medal or ribbon if they finish in the top 12, but they will not score points. Their points will go to the next swimmer from a team and all the other swimmers will move up. Example if a swimmer from an independent school takes second place in a race, that swimmer will be listed as 2 nd place in the results and earn a silver medal, but the 13 points for 2 nd place will go to the next swimmer that swims for a school with a team, and everyone moves up accordingly. To be eligible for All-County a swimmer must compete in the Bergen County Meet of Champions and at least 4 dual meets during the 2011-2012 swim season. FAQ - Here are some guidelines and rule clarifications for the BCCA and BCWCA Meets. a. Swimmers who have qualified in an individual event for the BMOC are not eligible to swim that event at the Novice Meet (even if he or she does not compete in the BMOC). Swimmers who plan to compete in relays at the BMOC but do not have any individual qualifying times are still eligible to swim in the Novice Meet. b. Swimmers that have obtained a qualifying time in an event should not be entered in the Novice Meet in that event. If a swimmer plans to swim in the BMOC in an individual event, that swimmer should not be entered in the Novice Meet in any event. We would ask all coaches to be honest and place swimmers in the appropriate meets and races. c. Swimmers must have competed in an event at least once prior to swimming that event in either the Novice Meet or the BMOC. d. If a team has five swimmers that have made the cut for the BMOC, only four may compete (three in the 500 Free). The fifth swimmer may not compete in that event in the Novice Meet either, as that swimmer s time is faster than the cut. e. Teams may enter four swimmers per event in both the Novice Meet and the BMOC (exception: 500 Freestyle). f. BMOC and Novice meets are separate meets. A swimmer can swim in both meets if they do not qualify for an individual event at BMOC. A swimmer that does not qualify for an individual event at BMOC could swim in any or all of the 3 relays at BMOC and up to 4 events at the novice meet, giving a swimmer a maximum of 7 races that day if a coach so desires. g. If a swimmer has obtained a qualifying time prior to the deadline and is entered in the Novice Meet, the result will be a disqualification. If a swimmer is entered in the BMOC without having obtained a qualifying time, the result will be a disqualification. Coaches should bring results of all previous meets as proof of times. 2012 BERGEN COUNTY GIRLS INVITATIONAL SWIMMING NOVICE MEET SPONSORED BY THE BERGEN COUNTY WOMEN S COACHES ASSOCIATION
