Daniels & F. C. Worrad RACE 1: 2YO Handicap 1005m: Gillick s Way Blundered near the 400m. Laid out rounding the home turn. Raced greenly in the early part of the straight. Karaja Laid in under pressure down the straight. Peony Rose Slow to begin. Porota Bean Momentarily held up on heels rounding the home turn. Queenofthecastle Inclined to overrace in the middle stages. Hung out approaching and rounding the home turn. Inclined to lay out under pressure down the straight. Trinzanno Near the 200m was steadied after laying in onto the heels of Gillick s Way which shifted out slightly. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the straight. A post race veterinary examination of the filly did not reveal any abnormality. RACE 2: Maiden Handicap 1255m: Bon Choix Slow to begin. Ester s Rose Began awkwardly. Madam Mahal Began awkwardly. Overraced approaching the first turn. Rounding the first turn was checked before clipping the heels of Piora, which ran in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider, blundering and losing ground (~2L). Maglev Slow to begin. Ran wide rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure down the straight.

Near the 150m was checked after laying in away from Maglev, which shifted in under pressure at that point, and becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of Lightning Pageant, which shifted out. Jockeys Ms T. Harrison (Maglev) and D. Griffin (Lightning Pageant) were reprimanded (AR137(a)). Piora Slow to begin. Raced greenly approaching and rounding the first turn. Sideshow Al Inclined to overrace rounding the first turn. Smokin Miss Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Steven Momentarily eased from heels shortly after the start. Eased when racing in restricted room approaching the first turn. Vice Vice Baby Slow to begin. Overraced approaching and rounding the first turn. Momentarily held up on heels at the entrance to the straight. RACE 3: Maiden Plate 1605m: Come Alive Rounding the home turn laid in and bumped another runner before shifting out abruptly and being steadied. Follow Our Dream Steadied after improving onto heels near the 1300m and 800m. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding jockey M. McGuren stated that he wanted to settle in a handy position however his mount was slow to begin and quickly crossed by other runners resulting in it being obliged to race in a position worse than midfield. M. McGuren stated that he was unable to work into the event as early as he would have liked when held up behind other runners however his mount enjoyed clear running from the 600m and was under full pressure from this point. M. McGuren stated that his mount was unable to make any significant ground on the leaders from its rearward position down the straight. M. McGuren stated his mount is one paced and in his opinion is best suited ridden in a forward position where it can dictate terms and work into a sprint. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Hadtobe Apprentice Ms L. Kilner will be interviewed at a date to be fixed regarding her whip use down the straight. Match Day Momentarily eased when tightened for room near the 400m. Noddibag Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be lame in the near fore leg (3/5). Trainer Mr S. Lee was advised that the gelding requires a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. Rewa Lad Steadied after improving onto heels rounding the home turn.
3 Shinar Rounding the home turn was steadied after making a very awkward stride and running out abruptly when racing in restricted room inside Come Alive which laid in slightly away from Windermere. Raced greenly near the 100m. When questioned regarding leading today apprentice C. Gallagher stated his mount was attempting the 1600m journey for the first time and from a wide barrier he was instructed to be positive on his mount in the early stages with the anticipation of settling in a handy position. C. Gallagher stated his mount began only fairly and he rode it along in accordance with the instructions given. C. Gallagher stated that approaching the 1400m it became apparent he was going to be caught wide so he continued to ride forward to lead the event. C. Gallagher stated that when he established the lead approaching the 1200m his mount failed to settle and travelled keenly to the 1000m, opening up a sizeable lead (~5L). C. Gallagher stated that passing the 1000m his mount commenced to settle and he endeavoured to get cheap sectionals from this point in an effort to have it run out the journey. Trainer Mr E. Ensby confirmed the instructions and advised that they will endeavour to ensure the gelding obtains cover next start. RACE 4: Class 3 Handicap 1905m Airlie Man Hampered rounding the first turn. Cyclone Path Slow to begin. Destiny s General Eased from heels and ran wide rounding the first turn. Hampered passing the 200m. Golden Valley Laid out rounding the first turn. Pulled whilst being restrained between the 1600m and 1400m. Approaching the 500m became held up on heels and was unable to improve until shortly after straightening. Approaching the 50m was obliged to steady in around heels to continue to improve. Unable to be fully tested for the remainder of the event when racing in restricted room. When questioned as to why he restrained his mount to hand up the lead down the back straight apprentice C. Gallagher stated that he was instructed to race in a forward position with cover throughout the event as this is how the gelding raced when it won its most recent start. Trainer Mr E. Ensby confirmed the instructions. Invinciboy Unable to improve approaching the home turn when held up on heels. Obsessions Inclined to pull in the middle stages. Protest Raced wide from the 600m. Jockey R. Plumb was fined $400 for returning to scale at 58kg, in excess of 1/2kg over his mounts declared weight of 57kg (AR145). In assessing penalty stewards were satisfied that the offence had not affected the mares placing in the event. Red Cavalry Overraced approaching the first turn. Laid out rounding the first turn.
4 Stormy Leo Hampered and carried wide rounding the first turn. Approaching the home turn was steadied for a number of strides after laying in onto heels. Terahlee Reared high on jumping placing its rider in a dangerous position. Trainer Mr S. Bennett was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding. Raced wide in the middle stages. Visona Playboy Hampered and ran wide rounding the first turn. Raced wide in the early stages. Near the 400m was momentarily eased when tightened for room. RACE 5: Benchmark 66 Handicap 1605m Champagne Garden Slow to begin. Passing the 500m was eased when racing in restricted room. Approaching the 400m became held up on heels and was unable to improve until obtaining clear at the entrance to the straight. Approaching the 200m was obliged to ease out around heels to continue to improve. Not fully tested over the final 50m when held up on heels. Clever Dolly Raced wide in the early and middle stages. 5 Jahez When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding jockey J. Stanley stated that he intended on settling in a handy position however his mount failed to muster sufficient speed in the early stages to do so and settled worse than midfield. J. Stanley stated that he was required to encourage his mount along the entire event and he desisted from riding it out down the straight as it was a beaten horse. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer Mr P. Stanley advised that the gelding would be spelled immediately. Mr Stanley was advised that a warning would be placed on the the gelding for a poor performance. Rains Aplenty Laid in down the straight. Seentoomany Approaching the 100m was obliged to shift out abruptly around heels to continue to improve. RACE 7: Open Handicap 1305m: Anne Bonny Slow to begin and hampered shortly after. Inclined to pull in the early stages. Ataraxia Trainer Mr S. Lee was fined $100 for failing to remove the cross over nose band and add a tongue tie to the official race gear of the gelding by the prescribed time (AR140B). Curley Mac Slow to begin. Lebombo Rose Declared a late scratching by order of stewards, acting on veterinary advice, at 12.20pm after the mare was found to have a number of lacerations to its hind legs. Trainer Mr C.
