A lot of compliments on the kitchen thanks to all who help out and volunteer your time. There are a lot of events coming up such as May Day, Parrotville. District meeting is Sunday May 3rd at Longwood Post hope to see a lot of people from our Post. Friday May 1st we have Fossil Rock and Derby event come and join us for good music and fun. We have started a new game called Ace of Spades we are doing the drawing on Fridays at 7:30 come join us. Memorial Day is May 30th. We had our elections last meeting congratulations to New Commander and all other offices hope to have a great year. It has been my great pleasure and honor to have served as your commander for the past year and thanks to everyone who has helped out. Keep helping our post prosper. Chaplain s Corner Thought for the Day The bond that links your family is not that of blood. But of respect and joy in each other s life. Rarely do members of the family grow up under the same roof. Prayers go out to the family of Tom Lewis {known as Pig Killer Tom to friends who recently was called to his heavenly home. May he rest in peace. Memories of good times in our hearts will stay. Remember to continue to pray for our service men and women where ever they may be God speed them home safely to all who wait. Keep our country and leaders in your prayers. Congratulations to our newly elected officers of Post 2093 including the Ladies Aux. and Men's Aux. Continue to support them and help out when called upon. If you know of anyone in the hospital or home sick or has passed on to their heavenly home please let me know at 407-629-5808 or call the canteen 407-296-2502 and they will get message to me. Prayers go out to Florence Burwinkel & family in the loss of her beloved daughter Karen Brooks who was recently called to her heavenly home on April 3, 2015. May she rest in peace. If you know of any member who is ill or has passed on please let me or our Chaplain know. This will now be a part of our newsletter to help keep all informed of members. I am very honored to do this and looking forward to yet another great year. I am here for all, should you need me. If I do not know the answer I will surely get it from someone who does. Make sure to come join us for our Memorial Day Ceremony! Newsletter Help! Any ideas for the newsletter? New article? Monthly contest? Let me know! Sometimes content can be thin and I ve gotta pull stuff out of thin air, I could use your help. Paula and Doris will be taking over the newsletter for me so that I can be ready to help the new Commander as he needs it. I hope you will continue to support these ladies as you have me, they re gonna be great!!!! Page 2 of 8

We made All State this year, thanks to all of you. Let's work toward this goal again and more. Team work! We can do it Ladies. We are doing very well in recruiting new members so let's keep that up. Keep asking it is working... Keep turning in your reports to me as the reporting continues even though our physical year ended on March 30. Congratulations to the newly elected officers. They are - Sr. Vice- Debbie Rowell, Jr. Vice- Patty Pilioglos,Treasurer- Kathy Swoger, Secretary- Roxy Sands, Conductress- Cindy Stull, Chaplain- Carol Hulvey, Guard- Susie Schiebel, Historian - Wendy Carpenter. Even though everyone does not hold an office, everyone is very important in achieving our purpose for being here. So jump in and help, there are many areas in need of volunteers. We have several Chairman ships open to hold. I will be speaking to some of you to get help on this. Rei, thank you for your dedication and time you have put into the Poppy fundraising. It did not go unnoticed. So sorry that you must take a step back but I am sure Cindy will do you proud. We need a representative to be chairman of the fundraising event for our Department Presidents fund. It is a golf tournament. You do not have to know or play golf to do this I am told we just need a rep. for our post. If you are interested please see me I have all the info for it. Volunteer!! Ladies Sunday May 17-11 am is INSTALLATION, please be prompt and wear your black and white dress attire. Plan on attending Department Convention it is right here in our back yard. The Renaissance at SeaWorld. Dates are Friday June 12- Sunday 14th. It is a great time to meet ladies from other Auxiliaries and get new ideas. Ladies We would like to clean out the Ladies Office in the Aux. Room and have the containers to put items in but are in need of some shelving to put in the newly built closet to stack things on. Does not have to be fancy just plain steel or plastic shelving. If you have any you do not need please let me know and we can get it picked up if needed. Donations GUYS WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! Parrotville is May 9 th, and we can use all the help we can get. We need people to help setting up the tents, food, cleanup and support. Contact Keith Carr, Jeff Swoger or Dave and ask what you can do. Steak nights are still going strong thanks to Bob, Michael, Dave, Shirley and Frog for cooking. Forgive me if I forgot to mention your name if you helped. Our meeting night is the second Tuesday of each month and all members are encouraged to attend. Orlando VA Medical Center & Lake Nona VA Facilities On Saturday May 23, 2015 the VA at Lake Nona Hospital will be having a Veterans Day Event which includes Veterans and their family members only. To get in you must present your military ID card or your VA ID card. They will be serving food from Bubbalou s. There will be bounce houses, snow cones, cotton candy and popcorn. On Tuesday May 26 th the VA at Lake Nona Hospital will be having a Grand Opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony open to the public. Our Edgewater post band will be playing. They will have appetizers, cake and cupcakes. The hospital is not accepting lap robes or any hotel size products. Fred is giving out about 30 to 40 hospital/homeless hygiene kits a month. We need your help collecting these items. See below for sizes. If anyone is interested in making the hygiene kits bags with a draw string, we need size 12 H x 10 W. Cat & I are starting a Veterans writing program at the hospital. We need your help writing their stories. Would any Auxiliary be interested in sponsoring a luncheon or dinner for our Veterans? Would anyone be interested in taking our veterans fishing? Remember Memorial Day & 4th of July are around the corner. The CLC would bring up to 10 people. The DOM would bring up to 25 people.
